A not to be missed Costa Rican experience. This home is a private getaway surrounded by a spectacular tropical garden with banana trees, star fruit trees, and papaya trees.
There is a large private pool for you to cool off in and enjoy.
Completely furnished with style, this home is designed for indoor as well as outdoor living with decks around the pool area and off of the kitchen. In the afternoon, one can relax in the hammock in the rancho located by the pool.
Two of the bedrooms have access to the pool and the third bedroom has a view of the front garden. The third bedroom is equipped with an air conditioner for those who feel they require that, otherwise ceiling fans are located throughout the home.
The modern kitchen is fully equipped for preparing your meals and there is a large BBQ in the rancho for grilling.
The neighborhood is quiet and very safe, with many families from different backgrounds reside there.
The house is located just a 15 minute walk from the beach and the center of town where you will find many restaurants such as Italian to sushi, as well as typical Costarican, seafood, etc.. There are many boutiques, souvenir stores and three grocery stores to choose from for your shopping needs.

My house is a perfect hide-away to relax or to use as a base to explore the Pacific Coast area. It is a place you will always want to return to.
Maid service is available once a week
After visiting Jaco Costa Rica during my holiday in Costa Rica, I found Jaco to be the perfect place for me. I always dreamed of living in a warm and tropical place. Close to the capital San Jose, Jaco is easy to get to and from the airport. There are two national parks close by, Manuel Antonio is just a 45 minutes drive and park Carara just 20 minutes from Jaco. The river Tarcoles has the most and the largest crocodiles gathering in Central america. My daughter and her family have been vacationing in this town for 19 years.I hope you will enjoy everything Costa Rica has to offer.
The beach is a short 10 minutes walk from the house. We enjoy our morning walks on the beach.
An other walk we love to take is up the mountain, if we go early enough we often see the white face monkeys and the beautiful Morpho butterfly.
The marina is just 10 minutes driving from Jaco in Herradura, there are several super market that offers all the products needed to prepare any gourmet meals.
Every morning we take our coffee in the garden among the tropical plants, it is so peaceful and relaxing.
If there is "heaven on earth" this is the place! The property surrounding this home is what made this such a memorable vacation for us.
I can tell you that the pictures of the interior of the home itself are completely accurate. We had my sister-in-law with us for a portion of our trip, and the layout of the two poolside bedrooms on opposite sides of the home, each with their own bathrooms were great for our individual privacy.
There are ceiling fans in every room, and I can honestly say that having just the fans (no A/C) was enough to keep us comfortable. Don't let the lack of A/C keep you from considering this home.
Now for the backyard...Danielle has done a masterful job in creating a true "Garden of Eden" experience. My sister-in-law and I would lay in the pool and marvel at the variety of flowering plants, and it seemed like every day we'd discover something we hadn't noticed before! The current pictures of the outside of the property could use updating as it's so much more lush than what is pictured. The is a fantastic flowering white bougainvillea over the covered patio leading to the pool, there is a bright yellow hibiscus-type flowering vine that is running up and along the the pool-side barbeque area. I could go on, and on.
The lush garden (I keep using the word "lush", but it's so true) invites countless varieties of birds - imagine waking each morning to them singing to each other! We even saw a lizard eating the red hibiscus at the far back of the property, and there was an iguana that liked to hang by the pool and sun himself.
We did not experience any mosquitoes like one of the reviews commented on. As a matter of fact, we slept with only the mosquito netting over the bedroom door at night, and left the kitchen and living room doors open all day, neither of which have screens. We never so much as saw one bug in the house.
A note on Jaco itself - the three of us found that the walk to the beach took us about 25 mins one-way. There is a little tienda about a block from the entrance to the subdivision (barrio), and a great fruit market about 2 blocks beyond that. Further down the road is a bakery that has fantastic bread that we bought fresh daily. The Caribbean restaurant at the entrance to the barrio is a winner as well!
Rebecca is a very personable and welcoming manager, and was always available when we had questions for her. From the first day to the last, we enjoyed our stay here and hope to be back next year!
Nous avons séjourné 3 nuits dans cette magnifique villa. Le jardin est vraiment merveilleux. Les voisins ne sont pas visible et la quiétude règne. L'intérieur est très bien décoré. Le tout à un prix plus que raisonnable.
This was our first trip to Costa Rica, but it will definitely not be our last! The house was a "home" and everything it was advertised to be! Peaceful and quiet but a quick walk to town! The kitchen was fully equipped, the best we have ever experienced! Rebecca was very helpful and gave us suggestions for things to see and do, as well as locations of markets, banks etc! Danielle gave us many suggestions prior to our arrival in Costa Rica such as rental car information and sights to see! Definitely looking forward to returning!!
Excellent home and accommodations, great neighborhood. I went with my family and my parents for 5 days, and have a really good time. The swimming pool is great we wanted to be there all the time. The house is very cleaned, excellent decoration, great appliances. We loved the BBQ area and the garden. The neighborhood is very quiet and safe. Danielle and Rebeca are really good people, a really good welcome and also pending of our necessities. We really loved Danielle's hospitality. Absolutely, we will come back again!
We spent 2 months vacationing here and had a great time with friends and family. The grounds were amazing, and the pool was exactly what was featured. Fruit market/butcher store/variety store were all close at hand for walking.
The owner was most accommodating along with her staff, as well the neighbour was very welcoming.
Jaco is a pleasant town to enjoy a holiday.
Our family had the pleasure of spending 16 days at this property which met all expectations for our vacation. The advertisement for this home is bang on and much better looking than the pictures. The property is situated on a quiet street with nice homes and within walking distance to the main street of Jaco and the beach. The house comes equipped with every need and the back yard is your own personal paradise; with warm private pool, BBQ area, lush vegetation, birds and privacy. Get up early and watch the Macaws play while the Iguanas and Geckos enjoy the early morning sun. We cooked most meals at home as we are a family of five and most restaurants are priced comparable to Canadian and US prices with some very good and some very bad food. If you are on a budget I would recommend to eat at local Tico restaurants with great food at reasonable cost. (Tico Rustico, $3.00 breakfast, and just around the corner of the home, a small outdoor Tico eatery) these all had great food for under $5.00, with helpings enough for two. Chicken is very good at all places and if bought fresh and cooked at home. If you rent a car you will be able to go anywhere for activities from this location and if it’s American style groceries you want, then the store at Los Suenos is for you. I recommend that you do some research on the town and get to know the people and ask questions. Also, check prices for things like zip lining, surfing, horseback riding, fishing …..as the operators will barter for your business.
If there is a negative to this property it would be the lack of air conditioning throughout the house and screens on the windows. It can get very hot in CR and it takes time to get acclimatized. We found that mosquitos in the back yard were awful and seemed immune to the strongest spray. The gardener did spray the yard near the end of our stay which helped greatly. For this reason we rate this property a 4 out of five.
Playa Jaco is the closest beach to San Jose, the Central Valley and is one of the most visited coastal destinations in Costa Rica. The beach is a 2.5 mile (4 km) strip which offers world renowned surfing and more. Activities include surfing, swimming, deep sea fishing, ATV tours, bicycle rentals, horseback excursions, crocodile safari, national parks and reserves, boat and kayak excursions, white-water rafting, canopy tours and popular night life. With all there is to offer it is no wonder Jaco is as popular as ever.Manuel Antonio National Park is within driving distance of Jaco as it sits majestically, 43 miles (69 km) to the south. Punta Leona Wildlife Refuge (Refugio de Punta Leona) is another place visitors have a good chance of seeing wildlife, which is located along the drive north from Jaco towards the town of Tarcoles.
