Surrounded by olive groves and quiet farmland, few villas offer such beautifully spacious surroundings with the flexibility to accommodate large & small groups with differing needs.
Each lovely villa has its own kitchen, living room and dining room as well as private garden. The bigger house sleeps 8, the middle house sleeps 6 and the smaller house sleeps 4. Rent together, separately or in combination. They're perfect when travelling with children.
All three houses share the stunning 12 x 6 meter swimming pool as well as the magnificent gardens, terraces and outside dining areas - including a table that seats 18, a BBQ area and a large outdoor pizza oven!
All the villas have air-con and Wi-Fi internet access. The grounds and terraces are wheelchair accessible and 2 of the houses are single storey.
These three villas combine to make a fantastic and flexible destination for large parties and very special occasions. They offer the luxury of 3 individual houses that open onto glorious communal areas for gathering your crowd together. They are also perfect for groups with children as each house has its own fully equipped kitchen, living and dining room with games, tv, sound system and wi-fi - so turn one of the houses over to the young ones and relax quietly in the other two!
Extensive renovation work has recently been completed both inside and out of all these properties and there are nearly 1000 square metres of newly tiled terraces surrounding the houses. This not only makes them perfect for bare feet in the summer sun also ideal for those who use a wheel chair or have restricted mobility. Two of the houses are single storey and are step free.
The interiors of the Villas Hope have been decorated with delightful items from the 1950s found by the owner at local antique markets making each house uniquely interesting but still casual and comfortable. The larger house (sleeps 8) and the middle house (sleeps 6) have a connecting door while the smaller house (sleeps 4) is separate. However, the connecting door between the two larger houses can be locked so any one of the houses can be rented on its own!
These are definitely villas made for relaxing. And should it rain (a very rare occurrence), the larger house even has a lounge and kitchen that can handle the crowd.
The huge gardens are filled with climbing vines, flowers, herbs and trees that provide many shaded areas in which to sit and relax. The new outside lighting makes the properties even more beautiful at night. The outdoor dining table is perfect for lovely evenings of home-made pizza under the stars (why, we can find you a pizza chef if you can't be bothered to make them yourself. And he’ll even teach you how!) while a refreshing glass of local wine by the side of the pool can’t be beat. And an al fresco breakfast under the vines? Bliss.
Acres of fruit trees, olive/almond groves and farmland surround Villa Hope and the quiet countryside is perfect for walks in the sun before a refreshing dip in the pool. And if the beauty surrounding you is so inspiring it brings out your artistic side, we can arrange a local English artist to tutor you or your group.
Bath towels are changed weekly and beach towels are provided for your jaunts to the nearby sea. Book for 14 or more people and a cleaning service three times a week is included.
Bicycles may be also be rented with prior notice so just let us know and we'll have them waiting for you.
All in all, this place can’t be beat for a relaxing and fantastic holiday with your friends and family.
If you've decided to explore the surrounding area there is much to do. If you're eating out, the food of Puglia is renowned throughout Italy. Carovigno, 4 kilometres away, is a fortified hilltop town and home to the restaurant, Gia Sotto l’Arco, hailed by Italian food critics as the best in Puglia. Ceglie Messapica, another very pretty hilltop town just 12 kilometres away, is known as a centre of gastronomy and boasts a Michelin starred restaurant, Al Fornella da Ricci. There is also a huge choice of very reasonably priced, family run restaurants and bars, many near the beaches serving the catch of the day. These are listed with directions and telephone numbers in our 'guide book' to the area which can be found in the villas. Please leave us a note of any that you discover so we can update it for future guests.
A touring antique market visits nearby towns every Sunday and other local markets, also weekly, sell everything from locally grown fruit and veg to nearly new Dolce e Gabbana. There are lists of where these markets are held at the villas, along with directions for getting to them.
The nearby Adriatic beaches are sandy or rocky, take your choice. Most of the best are a short drive from the villa with nearest only minutes away. They are safe and have lifeguards in attendance.
There are always festivals and concerts to visit and San Vito Dei Normanni is well located for day trips around the region. We suggest you search on-line for the many events that take place year round.
Many breathtakingly beautiful churches and historic buildings can also be enjoyed in the area.
Head north and within 15 minutes you will arrive at Ostuni, The White City. It is well worth exploring the twisting lanes that criss-cross this medieval city on a hill and is particularly beautiful when lit up at night. Carry on up the coast road towards Bari and you will pass through Monopoli and Polignano, both worth a wander. Inland from Bari you will discover Catel Del Monte. This amazing castle was built by Frederick II in 1240 for no apparent reason. It is visible from miles away and its mixture of architectural styles has even had Dan Brown commenting as to its symbolic meaning.
Heading West and you first arrive at the hilltop town of Ceglie Messapica, renowned for great restaurants including one that is Michelin starred. Further on you get to Martina Franca with views to Locorotondo and Cisternino in the distance.
A few kilometres further and you arrive at Alberobello, a Unesco site, with its unique type of building known as trullo. These are built from stone with conical roofs and mythical symbols painted on them. You will see many these trulli as you drive around the rolling countryside. These particular buildings are found only in this area of Italy.
To the south is Lecce, the Florence of the South. Fantastic baroque architecture surrounds you in the historic walled city which is easy to wander around as it has been pedestrianised. Carry on South and there is the port of Otranto and at the end of Italy you arrive at Santa Maria di Leuca.
To the east of the villas there is the Torre Guaceto, a protected coastal area that attracts hosts of migrating birds. There you may rent bicycles and visit the unspoiled beaches, plus there are lots of walks through the reserve.
Brindisi is only 20 km from the villas with lots to see and do. The Appian Way starts here. The port is central to the city, which was once the setting off point for the Crusaders however, it is now more popular as a place to set off by ferry to discover what the beautiful Adriatic has to offer!
