Colonia de Sant Pere Vacation Rental villa

It was obvious the rental was not prepared for a new tenant.

The following is a list of the problems we encountered immediately upon our arrival:

*Lisiting represented house had air conditioning, but there was No Air conditioning
in most of house (living room, dining room, kitchen nor laundry room, hallways, etc.).
This was extremely difficult because the house (average 95 degrees outside) was so
hot and therefore wecouldn't cook nor relax in the living room. We requested
fans to help with the air circulation. The broker delivered a second fan. Second fan was old and rusty but worked. When my wife expressed concern over the lack of air conditioning problem, broker said, "if you're not happy, then leave and find another place."

*Terrace door off hinge in upstairs bedroom
*No toilet paper
*Clothes dryer not on premises. I had to assist the broker in carting it up an incline
*Pantry filled with open food packages from last tenant
*Debris in closet from previous tenant
*No instruction or guidance on how to use appliances through out house
*Broker could not get TV turned on
*Food on wet plates in kitchen cabinets.
*Beds had no linens and we were told that people in Europe don't use sheets!

We discovered more disturbing problems which upset all of us.

ANT INFESTATION

*Spiders don't scare any of us but the quantity and location (above beds) was
frightening and unsanitary. They were also on ceilings and crawling through
out house, including on living room couches. We spent time cleaning this ourselves.

*Exterior decks and tile were filthy and not cleaned or swept. Pillows for beds were a
joke and certainly not up to "luxury" standards as indicated in
description on line. Intially ownership was absent and we dealt with the
broker who rented the house
*Next day I attempted to do wash and use dryer. Then we experienced a
power outage. Finally broker provided owners phone number. We learned the
house was powered by solar energy and you could not operate the AC and
wash and dryer without an overload. This was never mentioned in the
listing or by broker. We waited over an hour to have their maintenance
person arrive and straighten out the power outage. I had a conversation
with owner who was not accommodating nor willing to take responsibility
for the problems. Owner indicated we were responsible to make beds upon
arrival and top sheets are not provided. As to the ant infestation, not their problem.
