Our house is located in the upper Bavarian alps with a stunning mountain panorama. 24 km from Garmisch-Partenkirchen (with Germany's highest mountain, the Zugspitze) and 70 km from Munich. The Murnau market with one of the most beautiful pedestrian zones & castle museum that was made famous through artists like Münter, Kandinsky and Franz Marc, is just a 3 minute drive away. All shopping facilities & gastronomical wishes can be fulfilled here. From our house you can walk 5 minutes to the Staffelsee. Here you can go on a cruise (with a new guestship from 2009), find boat rentals and the beautiful beach. The world famous passion play location of Oberammergau (next play is in 2010), the Benedictine monastery Ettal & the Linderhof castle built by King Ludwig can be reached in just 30 minutes by car. The castle Neuschwanstein & Füssen are 60 minutes away. Lifts and slopes can be reached in 20 minutes, Nordic walking directly from our house. WEBCAM at the house.

Golf: In a radius of 40 km you will find the most beautiful golf courses in the area before the Alps. The closest 18 hole course is in Oberau with the stunning view of the Zugspitze.
Ski: The largest ski region in Germany, the Zugspitz and the Alpspitz region in Garmisch-Partenkirchen can be reached in just 25 minutes by car. The alpine skiing world championship will be here in 2011! For those who don't have as much experience or for beginners, we recommend the small regions under the Hörnle in Bad Kohlgrub (12 km) or the Ober and Unterammergauer ski region on Kolben and Steckenberg (20-25 km). Here you also find the stunning cross country slopes - trace King Ludwig's steps - discover the Linderhof castle and the castle park in deep winter in tranquillity with the cross country skiers.
