Villa Grassina is a summer residence welcoming guests from far and wide who would like to experience traditional country living. Surrounded by walled gardens, the estate consists of the main villa and two adjacent farmhouses offering comfortable apartments furnished in a typical Tuscan style retaining many of their original features. Facilities include a large swimming pool, table tennis,iinternet point and children’s play area. Tennis court, mountain bikes and horse-riding are available at a small fee. There is a restaurant open 3 evenings (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) and in the reception you will find general information and local produce such as wine, olive oil and honey. Join our weekly guided tour to learn the history, agriculture production and visit our olive oil cellar. Nearest village Pelago at 2 kms and local town, Pontassieve at 7kms with most amenities and train service to Florence. Cultural centres of Pisa, Lucca, San Gimiganano, Siena and Arezzo within easy reach.

Villa Grassina is Immersed in the magical atmosphere of the Tuscan countryside. Situated high in the hills offering a unique and spectacular panorama, an ideal setting for those who are searching for a relaxing and unforgettable holiday away from mundane city life. It is a good starting point for splendid botanical and naturalistic excursions through centuries old fir and chestnut woods on foot, horseback or on mountain bikes and for the less adventurous relax by the pool or under the cool of the trees in our spacious gardens. Nearby is the National Park and Vallombrosa Monastery, enchanting Medieval villages of Poppi and Stia and not to mention, Florence the European art capital at only 23km. Other places of interest include Siena, Pisa, San Gimignano, Lucca and Arezzo. The local village of Pelago (2km) has a supermarket, pharmacy, 2 banks, a post office, 2 bars and a restaurant and the town of Pontassieve (7km) has lots of amenities, restaurants and a good train service to Florence.

Culture and Typical Products: Every week we organise a guided visit of the estate starting with a visit to the family chapel to learn about the history of the area and evolution of Villa Grassina. A walk through the gardens to see what our territory offers and an explanation of our own products, olive oil, honey and chestnuts including a visit to our olive oil cellar and museum. Finishing with wine tasting of selectd local wines from the famouse Rufina and Pomino Chianti areas.
