A large, luxuriously appointed and newly renovated property, ideally located for holiday rental, just minutes from the old town, the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, the Cours Saleya Flower Market and the beach. The living room is luxuriously fitted with Italian Marble floors. It is contemporary in design with a large L shaped sofa, coffee table, dining table and chairs for six people. There is an American style kitchen with electric oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge freezer and washing machine. The living area is fitted with a TV and home cinema. Each of the two bedrooms has an ensuite and there is also a separate toilet. It is south facing with boulangeries, and all the necessary shopping facilities within minutes. There are parks both to the front and behind the building, with Promenade des Arts to the front and two parks on Rue Foncet to the rear, one with a play area for children. The number 98 bus from airport will take you to within 2 minutes.

To elaborate further on the location - It is five minutes to the Old Town, the main bus stops (Monaco, Cannes, St Paul de Vence) and the Theatre. Place Garabaldi, with it's beautiful buildings and sites of archeological interest, cafes and restaurants is within minutes. Place Massena and the pedestrian zone is also only five minutes away as is the Promenade des Anglais. The situation could not be more convenient for holidays without a car.

When I viewed the apartment for the first time, I walked from the flower market, passing the Palais de Justice on the way where the square was filled with atmosphere. After a short walk from the old town, I was shown into the apartment (the builders were renovating and at work). I walked into the sejour which was filled with light from four big windows. I looked out one of the front windows and saw the view - Tour St Francis and the hills behind. I then walked through the rest of the apartment and it was equally bright, yet totally private. I loved the fact that there were two double sized bedrooms and two bathrooms. The beautiful old building and the big double doors at the entrance to the apartment were all original. The lift was modern and the building felt good. I went outside and walked around the area and I saw there were gardens at the back at Place Wilson and Gardens to the front one street away. A patisserie with delicious breads and cakes was a few buildings up so I pictured fresh croissants each morning. There were lovely local cafes, a small supermarket, and a general village atmosphere. I felt the area was peaceful as it was slightly away from the tourist trail, yet within a few minutes walk from it.

The agent had many apartments lined up for me to see in my three day visit to Nice. I decided on Rue Gioffredo almost immediately, even though I went along to see all the others. I reserved the apartment at the end of that day's viewing as I found it to be so special I was afraid the next person who viewed would take it! I have been so happy with my decision. This apartment is all that I was looking for!

The apartment is completely private from neighbouring ones. It is so bright and the area is all that I would wish for - a village like atmosphere in a city, near all the main attractions and restaurants, so convenient to public transport that I only rented a car once - on my first trip after purchase. The cafes nearby are friendly and I always receive a welcome any time I visit. It is so peaceful in the area that I find, even on a short trip my batteries are instantly recharged. The gardens and squares in the area have a neighbourly atmosphere and are lovely to sit in, perhaps reading a book if one does not wish to go to the beach or the Old Town.

I am loving every minute of my stay in this beautiful apartment. It is so well equipped and luxuriously furnished. The location is more than I could wish for. It is near the Promenade, beach, flower market, museums shops and Old Town. The area around the apartment is excellent - a Boulanger for my morning croissants one minute away, cafes, excellent restaurants, grocers and a very neighbourly, friendly feel pervades. It is so near the buses to Monaco, St Paul, Cimiez ( for the Matisse Museum) that I feel it could not be more convenient.

GREAT PLACE TO STAY

The apartment is absolutely wonderful. It is beautifully decorated and is light, airy and very well equipped. It is ideally situated in the Old Town of Nice which has great restaruants and bars. It is near the wonderful shopping areas which cater for all ages, young and not so young! The beach and Promendae Des Anglais is just a short stroll away. The apartment is very convenient to the airport and you definately do not need a car, as the area is very well serviced with public transport. I would definately recommend this apartment for that special holiday in the beautiful city of Nice.

EXCELLENT VALUE APARTMENT

This is a modern, comfortable and spacious apartment located in a preserved building in a safe and exclusive area adjacent to Nice city centre yet within five minutes walking distance from the beach. It is also within short walking distance from the old town and flower market which contains a plethora of sumptuous open air restaurants and cosy old-French style bars and cafes which seem to remain open deep into the early hours. I was constantly amazed by the fact that the Nicoise inhabitants never appear to sleep with the streets remaining thronged with its fashionable denizens until well after midnight. The owner of this apartment has provided stylish and modern furnishings which tastefully complement the period mood of the building while the marbled floors and traditional French shuttered windows of the apartment add a cooling respite from the heat of Nices' afternoons and evenings. I was particularly impressed by the spaciousness of the rooms and high ceilings and upon our arrival noted that the apartment had been well maintained with an emphasis on cleanliness. The amenities provided were more than adequate for our needs, with plenty of fresh towels, bed linen, together with satellite tv, washing machine, and dishwasher. The apartment also contains two bathrooms which is particularly useful in busy family environments! Similarly it is located on the first floor of the building which obviates the necessity of waiting for the lift, hiking up long stairways with heavy luggage, reluctant children etc. In all I would consider this apartment to be of excellent quality in terms of location and physical amenities, of far superior value in price terms compared to hotel lodgings, and, the service provided by the agent upon arrival, stay, and, departure is efficient and responsive. I have, therefore, no hesitation in placing this apartment within the five star category of this review.

Right beside the Old Town of Nice with it's lively cafes and restaurants and only seven minutes from the sea and the Promenade des Anglais. It is a two minute walk to the bus station and a ten minute walk to the train station. Avenue Jean Medecin and the main shopping district is a five minute walk. For lovers of art, the famous MAMAC (Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art) is on the doorstep. This area is surrounded by relaxing and beautiful gardens, cafes and renowned restaurants. For lovers of french chic and design, Galerie Lafayette, the well know department store is but a short stroll. The location of this apartment could not be better for holiday rental.
