Shawnigan Lake Cabin Rental Photos and Description
Sleeps 6 with River Front. Endless trails, swimming, biking and family bonfires.
Our quaint little cottage is nestled in amongst other cottages in the forest alongside the river. Inside you will find all amenities. Three queen size beds with wonderful luxurious mattresses that you can sink into after a day of fun on the river or swimming in Shawnigan Lake. The river has a huge pot hole and is very safe for swimmers as it is very calm in summer time. The water is clear and refreshing. You can walk to Kinsol Trestle in about 20 minutes and if you would like a good, long hike, carry on and walk for miles in the woods along well groomed paths.
Inside the cottage there is a bedroom downstairs, bathroom with refurbished 80 year old claw foot tub. Lots of hot water (hot water on demand) for a good soak in the tub. The kitchen is stocked with everything even a good cook could wish for, or just a quick meal. There is a full sized fridge. Everything is provided except for your food.
Duncan is about 30 minutes North. On Saturdays in the Spring, Summer and Fall, there is an amazing market. You will find delicious artisan breads, meander around for lunch from various stalls, or just browse the market for its various wares. Duncan has really good shopping with several of the big box stores and 2 new malls. There is also a really good local market just before you cross the bridge into Duncan where you can buy lovely fresh produce (usually local) and stop off for lunch. As well, Mill Bay and Cowichan Bay (on the ocean) is a fun and interesting place to spend some time.
Heading South is Victoria which is about a 40 minute drive. Perhaps you would like to spend a good, full day there as there is so much to see and do.
Behind the cottage is a firepit. Fun to make hot dogs or roast marshmellows and s'mores. There are 2 decks at the back of the cottage and a Weber bbq always fully loaded with propane. If you prefer a quiet spot, the back decks are always very quiet. Watch the squirrels and birds feeding their young or just kick back with a good book and relax. At the front of the cottage, there is always someone strolling by or children playing.
There is a property manager on site. He and his wife are always helpful if and when you need them.
Considering all that our cottage has to offer you, we feel that the price per night is very reasonable. We ask that you book a 3 night minimum and book early for holidays and summer fun.
