Mahalo for finding us! We hope you'll be our guests in our front row, end unit at Colony One, Sea Mountain. You will enjoy a Polynesian-style retreat with ocean views in a serene "Old Hawaii" setting, away from the congestion of Kona and Hilo and only a short drive to Volcanoes National Park and its latest eruption displays. After visiting the volcano, cool off at world-famous Punalu'u Black Sand Beach, renowned for basking turtles. Privately situated on the quiet edge of the immaculately groomed Sea Mountain Resort, our spacious (720 square feet) hale overlooks the magnificent Pacific Ocean and the scenic Sea Mountain golf course. There are a set of men's and a set of woman's golf clubs in the condo. Pick up blossoms from the grass and make your own leis using the instructions and supplies provided. Our condo is a "true" one bedroom (not studio) with a large master bedroom and a sofa sleeper in the livingroom and features a separate dining room with an ocean view. If you need the internet, there is internet service in the condo.

Aloha Ingrid and Jan - Well, here we are back in Colorado. Our vacation went soooo very fast!! You plan and plan for months and then it seems like it is over in " a blink of the eye". It was super stupendous and better than we could have ever imagined!! Love, loved your condo and the Puun"alu area! The Big Island is definitely our favorite!! My husband wanted me to leave him there and is already making plans for our return! The condo could not have been better!! It is gorgeous and I loved it soo much!
I took MANY pictures of the condo alone and then the grounds around it --- what can I say? We met so many very nice people down at the pool area and Stan went to the party on Monday evening. I was exhausted and stayed "at home" and enjoyed the CD"s. Thanks-you for having them there for our use. I just cannot say enough about the condo and The Black Sands Beach area!! Next time we want to stay for a month or so. I will get my reservations "in early" with you.
My family stayed in this condo for a month in 2012 and ten days in 2013. Both stays were great. Most importantly the pictures and descriptions are accurate. The unit is well maintained, and in a great location - as the end unit you have no neighbors above you or on one side of you. The only reason we stayed a shorter time during the second visit is that we decided to divide our stay between the northern and southern parts of the island. I would definitely return to this condo, it feels so far from everything and yet it is a short drive to Volcano National Park and a little longer drive to Hilo, the Puna district and two step (all my favorite places).
Beautiful, secluded condo resort with swimming pool, hot tub, multiple gas grills and incredible ocean views. We loved this unit as it was the last in the front row. We spent most of our time at the condo sitting on our lovely deck marveling at the beautiful scenery and sunsets. The unit itself was great. Everything you need to cook with, plenty of linens, books about Hawaii, etc. All of the windows on the ocean side opened completely so we felt as if we were outside all the time. Our unit had a washer and dryer but I don't know about the other units. Comfortable fold out sofa and king bed in bedroom. One bath that opened to the hall as well as from the bedroom. This was my 2nd trip to the Big Island and we have stayed in 2 other places but this was the best by far! The resort is on the southern part of the island about 30 miles from the volcano. We stayed until well after dark to see the crater glow and the trip back was not hard. The real mountain drive is between the resort and Kailua. We drove to Kailua and it took about an hour each way. The condos are very isolated so stock up on food and supplies in Hilo or Kialua before you come. All in all, I can't say enough good things about trip and you will not be disappointed if you go. (there are no steps in our out f the condo so this is a great option for the physical disabled.
I stayed with a friend for 5 nights and we rented through Kau rentals. No picture or video can capture the beauty of this place. the condo was fantastic and everything you could need was provided (hairdryer, wine glasses, etc.) the pool and hot tub were sparkling clean and the grounds were spotless. We cooked steaks on the gas grills at the pool and all the residents were welcoming. We spent almost the entire time at the condo on the deck. I think it is the best deck/lanai in the complex. The lady next door fed the birds each morning and we were treated to a show. Each morning there were birds waiting on our deck balcony when we woke up. We walked 1/2 mile down paved road to the black sand beaches several times and saw giant turtles and tidepools, etc. it is only about 30 minutes from the volcano so we were able to go more than once and really explore. We went to Kailua Kona for a day and then to the UCC Ueshima coffee plantation ( free coffee samples and the best view on the island). We spent a day exploring the Southern most point in the country (wicked winds, beautiful scenery). We went for relaxation and some sightseeing and this was the perfect location as it was in the middle between Hilo, the volcano, and Kailua. We didn't do the stargazing on the mountain but this gives us an excuse to come back! You will NOT be disappointed with this condo or the location!
