At our Carmela vacation home, you'll soon be hidden in 2,900 square feet of freshly custom painted walls, beautiful porcelain tile floors, newly installed lush bedroom carpeting, 400 thread count Egyptian sateen sheets, a kitchen complete with a butler's prep kitchen and wet bar, a TV room with a large leather sectional sofa for true laziness, a comfortable conversation - or cocktail - area with both leather and upholstered seating in front of an intimate fireplace, indoor and outdoor dining options, and a three-car garage.

This like-new home was our dream come true. And how it came to be is a little like serendipity. With the right amount of TLC (new front and rear landscaping, new interior and exterior paint, and new hard scape and appointments in the courtyard and pool deck), we made it our own. A quality, no-expense-spared getaway experience was our goal, because we plan to enjoy it forever. And since we love entertaining, we made sure we chose the right floor plan that is spacious, open and integrated while bedroom wings provide privacy. We furnished it comfortably and tastefully, created several indoor and outdoor opportunities to relax (fire pit lounge in courtyard, back yard dining under the loggia to catch the morning sun on the mountains with coffee, tea or iPad news) and above all have views to die for and a sunny back yard all year round. And with a quiet, gated community like Carmela, which borders the prestigious Madison Club, you just can't go wrong.

What makes this house unique

A park on one side, the best neighbors on the other side, and no one behind you make for the best combination of privacy and soaking in spectacular views of an amazing backdrop of mountains and greenery. We two seniors rented this large home for the month of March, 2014. It was a first time rental for the owners and was essentially a new house with all new contents and was a treat to be the first users. The south exposure, mountain view and pool provided a peaceful quiet retreat, away from busy La Quinta centre. We did not use all the facilities of easy entertaining, outdoor fire pit and neighbouring recreation park but it was nice to have. The owners were good to deal with.
