Welcome! We invite you to bring your friends and family into our beautiful San Diego home for a relaxing stay! Our home is in one of the city's truly special historic neighborhoods. We are centrally located with easy freeway access and quaint shops and boutiques within walking distance. From the moment you walk through our gate, past the rose garden and into the living room, you will feel right at home. Our dining area is rustic elegant, with its exotic slab wood dinning table, wine bar, sky light above the crystal chandelier, and original 1917 built-ins. In the kitchen you will find a hammered copper sink, chiseled edge granite counters, chandelier and high-end stainless steel appliances. Our over-sized original bay window overlooks a beautiful flowering vine just outside. In this area you may enjoy morning coffee or tea. Each bedroom is tastefully decorated with original pieces of art work and furnished in beautiful antiques. Comfortable full sized beds with 'pillow top' mattresses , cozy pillows and linens. WiFi & central air condition throughout. Our award winning master bath is filled with custom stone, cabinets and lighting. While the central bathroom has another bay window overlooking the back garden area with plenty of counter space. The fourth bedroom is in the garden, this cottage has french doors and over sized windows opening out to the lush private back garden area with brick patio. Here you can relax in the comfy outdoor furniture, and enjoy the BBQ. The garden cottage has a queen bed, bathroom with one-of-a-kind antique sink, beautiful antique furniture, flat screen, ceiling fan, cable and WiFi. Behind the cottage is a complete working artist studio. Here we have a potter,s wheel, kiln and multi- media supplies. Local art teachers are familiar with the studio.
Mission Hills is just above old town where you can walk to many shops, restaurants, trolley station, or catch the old time trolley car for a tour. A step out the front door is a lesson in history; a variety of historical homes built by craftsman long ago. At night you can walk to Presidio Park and view the Sea World fire works show. We are located on a quiet street with ample parking. Whether you are here to work or play, enjoy your stay!
My sister, friend, and I loved the location of this rental. It is centrally located in Mission Hills making it easy to drive to all the major attractions as well as access the freeways. It is near most beaches, the Gaslamp District, Hillcrest, Coronado Island, Sea World (you can see the fireworks from the street), and much more. The house is so sweet and quaint. We dreamed we could buy it and live there! There are grocery stores nearby and plenty of places to eat. We went for jogs through the neighborhood and ran the hills every day, went to the local plant nursery just down the street and looked around, and got drinks at the cafe in the neighborhood. The house is really fun because there are art pieces throughout. The interior design is beautiful. The backyard and patio are sweet, and the pottery studio on the side is charming. Did I mention the house is historical? LOVED IT.
where to begin? the house is gorgeous! so full of character and high end finishes. its located in the most incredible location in san diego! the neighborhood is very upscale safe and quiet but central to everything! i will definitely stay here next time i am in san diego. can't wait have another spa-like experience in that custom stone shower!
My stay at this house was too short. Great location, comfortable quiet neighborhood, and some good views and easy access to the Presidio neighborhood. This house is a good example of classic 1930s California architecture, solid built and comfortable. I plan to stay there again.
I stayed here with my husband and three kids, ages 12, 8, and 5. We had an amazing time! My kids love art projects and the attached art studio kept them very busy and happy. The neighborhood is gorgeous and so quiet. It is north of Washington which is pristine and lovely, with amazing architecture. We felt very safe here. We walked to the local coffee shop and deli every day. In the other direction, we walked to Old Town one day, which has many interesting historical sites and fabulous Mexican food. Presidio Park is also right down the street with sweeping views of the bay and ocean. I cannot say enough about the perfect location! There is so much to do right in the neighborhood and all the best restaurants in San Diego are close. The house had everything we needed. We turned on the AC two nights which cooled down the house immediately. We hit the zoo, the beach, Balboa Park, and Sea World. They are all ten minutes away. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
We loved our time spent in this adorable historic house in the beautiful Mission Hills area of San Diego. Great location, close to everything fun in San Diego and sooo quiet and peaceful. The house is fully appointed with everything you need (don't have to bring with!), kitchen is fully stocked with pots/pans, salt and pepper, dinnerware--you just have to bring the food. If you don't want to cook you can walk to many indy restaurants (important to us, don't like chains). Also comfortable restful living area, and comfy beds and bedding. And the art-- beautiful! Kristi is delightful and has thought of everything. Oh, and can't forget the fireworks show at Sea World every night, just a short walk up the street. Thank you, Kristi!
