The Barn has two king bedrooms, two twins and a loft with bar kitchen. The downstairs is a tasting room great for gatherings as you share some incredible Napa Valley wines. There is some great history with the materials used to design the interior of the structure as well. Salvaged barn wood was acquired from the Charles Parker estate across the valley, one of the early well known settlers in the Napa Valley. The wood dates back to the late 18th Century.
I am a designer/general contractor and owner of Del Mar Restoration, Inc. I enjoy renovating old structures and turning them into new creative spaces. This property has many interesting attributes you can only experience while staying there.
Laura Parker purchased this barn in 2013
Balloons float over the property while birds wake you each day to another beautiful Napa Valley morning. It is situated on the the Dry Creek with the ambiance of a Storybook Tale. It is truly a magical place.
The Barn was completely renovated using 100 year old barnwood salvaged from the Charles Parker property just across the valley. The design and decor is truly unique with a tasting room and three bedrooms and loft. This will leave guests with many memorable moments.
We rented for a group of girls and the barn was perfect! It is out of a restoration hardware catalog. We cooked dinner and hung out on the patio under trees adorned with lights. My sister in law has also rented with same success!!
We recently spent one night in the "Barn" before moving to the Farmhouse. (See all the Rental listings for this owner to see the Farmhouse). I really loved the barn it was sort of done in a loft modern style combining old and new in a wonderful way (Pottery Barn-ish). The upstairs was basically an awesome 1 Bed loft apartment with access (thru a bedroom) to a large deck. It had a flat screen TV and plenty of seating in the living area for a big group.
For us (3 couples) the layout and bed configuration just did not work. It had one bedroom with twin beds and that bedroom did not have direct access to a bathroom, you had to go through another bedroom. So a little odd at night if you needed to use the restroom. Additionally the Farmhouse had a pool and hot tub which we loved.
Given all that the Farmhouse would be my first choice (3 bed / 3 bath) but for 2 couples (who don't need a pool / hot tub) the Barn was lovely and I would recommend it for a stay.
