About Ron

Ron & Diana purchased the home in 2005 to use as the family ski house.

Ron purchased this house in 2005

Why Ron chose Old Town

With hectic school and work lives we unfortunately can't use it as often as we'd like, so our loss is your gain. We have been renting the house for 10 seasons and people just love it! We're local owners so we truly know the area, amenities and can be there to help if needed.

What makes this house unique

The house was originally a fourplex and completely gutted in 2004 before being reassembled as a single family home. This is why it's so large compared to other 'Old Town' homes. We just did an extensive remodel-it's beautiful!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you for checking out our home in Park City. This house has just been completely remodeled as of 2005. Everything in it is brand new. All the beds are pillow top mattresses and the warmth and feel of the house will be appreciated by all. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to know more about this great home and the Park City area.

See you on the slopes!

Excellent Location, Great Amenities

  • 5 of 5

Firstly, thank you to Ron and Diana for sharing their wonderful home with us! They were extremely responsive to questions and requests.

We had an amazing time in Park City and made memories to last a lifetime. Everything was in perfect working order and we found everything we needed. Plenty of kitchenware, towels, shampoo, soap, etc. Hot tub was amazing after a day in the snow. We also used the grill one afternoon and it worked great. There were plenty of beds and bathrooms for everyone. The living room has a HUGE couch and room to accommodate the whole group at once.

Location was even better than we had hoped, we didn't even need the rental car at all! You can walk to just about anywhere in the historic district -- lots of great bars, restaurants, and shops. The town lift is super close and got us up to the mountain each day. Transit center with buses and shuttles is also nearby, even though we didn't need it.

I would absolutely recommend this house to anyone with a large group that wants to be right in the action of Park City.

Thanks for making our vacation easy and fun!

Fantastic location!

  • 5 of 5

Just coming off of a great weekend in Park City, minus the 50 degree weather! 510 Ontario was in the perfect location. With a very short walk to Main Street, the Town Lift and area buses, we really did not need our cars. I was traveling with a group of 12 friends. The house comfortably accommodated us all. We had a minor issue with the hot tub not working the second night. Ron was very responsive and the issue was resolved the next morning. Would absolutely recommend staying in this house.

Great place

  • 5 of 5

If you want to be close to Main Street, this is an optimal place. The location can't be beat. It's also one of the largest units you will find close to Main Street and would be great for an extended family, group of families or large group of friends. The owner is great and easy to reach if you need him. I highly recommend it.

Great location, needs better upkeep

  • 3 of 5

Pros:

Location was fantastic, just across the street from the transit center where you can hop a bus to anywhere. Also 1 block from main street.

The mud room entryway was nice for getting all our ski stuff on and off. However, there was only 1 boot warmer.

The kitchen and large dining table was perfect for our group of 12.

The price/location made it a great value if you want to stay close to downtown.

The remodeled bathrooms in the basement bedrooms were very nice.

Plenty of parking space, enough for 4+ cars easily

The living room area has a gigantic couch that allowed for our whole family of 12 to sit comfortably and watch movies.

The toys and games that were there were fantastic for our 4 year old. She loved playing with the kitchen playset all week.

Cons:

When we arrived the bedrooms were very dirty. One of the downstairs bedrooms was completely coated in drywall dust so thick we could write our names in it. Some of the beds upstairs were dusty, causing some guests to cough and sneeze when they went to bed.

During our stay the kitchen sink had no running cold water and it took the owner 2 days to fix it.

Hot tub did not get very hot.

The downstairs bedrooms were very very cold and we had to use the supplied spaceheaters 24/7 to keep them comfortable.

Sleeping arrangements aren't for everybody. Plan carefully.

The road to get into the driveway is steep. If it's snowing, either bring a 4x4 or you're not getting home. We had to push our minivan up the drive with only 2 inches of snow on the ground. There is a service that comes and plows the driveway and shovels the deck to the hot tub though, which was very nice.

There is no humidifier installed, so the air was extremely dry inside the house. We had a constant pot of water boiling until we ended up just buying portable humidifiers for the rooms. We left them there for the next guests to use, but it would be nice if there was a central unit.

The water is extremely hard, almost unusable for cooking and drinking. Plan on using gallon jugs of water for the week. A water softener system is needed.

Owner's Response: Cleanliness: I am so sorry to hear that you didn't have anything, but a perfect stay in our home. I wish I had known this as I would’ve immediately sent my cleaners to the house to fix this. The odd part is that my wife and I were at the house 2 days before you checked in and personally made the beds. Half the beds and most of the bedding you used were brand new and your group was literally the first person to use them. Kitchen Water: I had my handyman at the house within 2 hours of your phone call. I am very sorry it took 2 days to get the cold water going, but Park City experienced record cold days and the day they froze it was 17 below zero. Hot Tub: We have a service weekly and change anything to make sure it regularly gets to 104 degrees, but mother nature was making it hard to maintain that as it was 17 below zero that week. Again, I am sorry about this. Downstairs bedroom: I totally agree, the downstairs is a big challenge to keep warm. That’s why we provide space heaters to insure that if the weather is super cold like it was that there is supplemental heat to kick in if the heaters are struggling to heat the bottom floor. Humidifier: Utah is one of the driest states in the US. It is known for super dry air, which is why it’s known for the best snow on earth. It’s a desert and it will be dry. We have 4 humidifiers in the house (closets), however they aren’t set up because not everyone wants them. I am sorry that I didn't point those out to you, I will add this to my welcome email going forward. Hard Water: I have an electric water system that shocks the pipes to break up any debris. I am not sure if it was out when you were there, but this is the first time I’ve ever had a complaint about the water. Park City is a mountain town that used to operate as a silver mine town, so there are a lot of minerals in the water. I will double check the system and make sure there is no issue. My apologies. I genuinely appreciate the review! It sounds like you had a wonderful trip, but I do apologize about anything that wasn't up to your expectations. I am a very responsive owner and want a great house for you to enjoy; I just wish I had known that you had any issues aside from the kitchen water freezing. If you decide to return I would be willing to give you a discount.

Very helpful and attentive owner

Fantastic house close or the slopes and downtown. Only caution I would have to potential renters is that the 'sleeps 12-18' is more like 10-14 even when sharing beds. We had 18 people in there one weekend and we had to be a bit creative with the sleeping arrangements. However, you can't beat the price or location.
