The property on which the guest house is located is a highly sought after and popular historic neighborhood of San Luis Obispo. This unique guest house space is situated on the second floor above the garage away from the street. It was originally the carriage house for the main home. The special juxtaposition of the apartment places your view at tree level overlooking the other buildings in the neighborhood which creates a peaceful, tree-house effect. Perfect for a weekend getaway or extended vacation! The apartment is approximately 450 square feet and provides a single bedroom, bathroom, living room, and kitchen. The bedroom has a brand new queen size bed and lots of closet space to stow away your belongings and keep the space clutter free. The bathroom has a combined shower and tub. The eat-in kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, gas stove, and dishwasher. The galley-style layout makes food reparation a breeze. There is a private deck off the entrance to the apartment with a bistro table and chairs that is divine for sipping a morning cup of your favorite beverage or enjoying a drink at the end of the day. An off-street parking space makes loading and unloading easier and saves you from trying to park on the busy street. We also have two bikes that are available for use if desired. (San Luis Obispo is a very bike and pedestrian friendly city!). For those who are looking to stay long-term access to the washer and dryer can be negotiated. The neighborhood is popular for many reasons. A main factor is its proximity to downtown San Luis Obispo, a mere 4 blocks away. Shopping, restaurants, movie theaters, bars, art galleries, museums, and Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa are all within a short walk, ride, or drive. Even closer, right around the corner, are some local favorites: Sally Lou's Cafe, Lotus Asian Restaurant, Cafe Roma Italian Restaurant, Gus' Grocery Sandwiches, Del Monte Cafe, and Meze wine bar. There is also a wonderful yoga studio, Yoga Centre, around the corner. Many people in the neighborhood also utilize a bike/walking path (3 miles round trip from the house) near by for exercise or commuting. The path runs along the train tracks. There are numerous mountain biking and hiking trails throughout the city and all within a few miles from the house. The Greyhound Bus and Amtrak Train Station are two blocks away. Several public transit bus stops are nearby as well. The airport is a few miles away, a short taxi ride or quick drive, from the house. The freeway is also easily accessible from the neighborhood. We live on the same property but keep to ourselves. We have a little boy who plays in the yard.

We have greatly enjoyed hosting people in our guest house. It is a special treat to meet visitors from all over the world. The guest house is 'family owned and operated'. Daughter, son-in-law, and grandson live in the main house and the grandparents, who live close-by, own the property.

Wonderful Apartment in Dowtown SLO

My wife and I had a great time. The apartment was amazing. It have everything we needed. We didn't even really get a chance to use the deck or bikes, but loved having them available. Bed was very comfortable and location was very quiet. The location was extremely good...only 3 block walk to main shops and restaurants. We walked to Higeura almost every morning for coffee. Owners were so nice and friendly and accommodating. Would love to stay again in the future. Thanks!

Darling Studio Right Near Downtown

My sister and I loved our stay at Stefany's darling one bedroom studio! It was so light and bright and it had a full kitchen which was so nice for cooking. The location is amazing...only 3 blocks from firestone so we loved walking everywhere! I would highly recommend staying here and I look forward to coming back with my husband:)!

Great little spot close to downtown SLO!

We had always wanted to spend some time in downtown SLO but never could find an affordable, nice place within easy walking distance. This little condo turned out to be just the answer! With just 2 adults and 1 child it was the perfect size for us. There is one bathroom (off bedroom), one bedroom with a door and a living room with a futon. There is a small kitchen stocked with cookware, dishes and utensils. There is also a small breakfast nook and porch with a couple of chairs. The neighborhood is VERY quiet but downtown SLO is about a 10 minute walk away. There you will find lots of shops, restaurants, wine bars and pubs. The owners are very friendly but not bothersome. We had a great time and enjoyed ourselves immensely.

Close to downtown San Luis Obispo

My husband was a featured artist at A Muse Gallery for first Friday art walk this May and we needed a little 'home' to stay in. This place was perfect! Full kitchen (even a sweet bottle of wine from one of the local wineries was set out for us), roomy living room to relax in and a comfortable bed to sleep. You'll be tucked within a quiet neighborhood, yet a quick ten minute walk put you in the heart of downtown. Farmers market (every Thursday night), great restaurants, of course the art gallery, shopping and so much more. The coffee shop, Sally Lou's, is right around the corner (2 minute walk) and great for breakfast if you do not want to cook. If you're looking for more to do outside of SLO then just a 15 minute ride (north or south) will have your toes in the sand as you stroll a beach. Enjoy your stay!

So Quaint!

What a great place to stay and explore SLO. We will be renting again. We visited our son and his girlfriend and went to a couple of bar and grills to watch the football play off games. The balcony was wonderful to sit on in the evening, have a glass of wine, and play a couple of games of cribbage. The apartment itself is beautifully restored to its previous historical glory and very comfortable.
