The holiday home is located directly on the shore of the Ponhook Lake in the middle of Nova Scotia/Canada and is on the edge of a headlong. Due to this special, peaceful location, a relaxing holiday in the middle of the nature and the forest guarantees a lot of privacy. No city in Nova Scotia is more than 56 km from the Atlantic coast and thus, the holiday home offers a central starting point for different activities. The holiday home is designed and furnished for up to 8 people. Top floor: house entrance and hallway, 1 living room with a kitchen, dining space and living room for complete self-catering, 2 double rooms each with a private bathroom, the bathrooms are accessible directly from the bedroom (shower and WC). Lower floor: 1 kitchen and dining room, 2 double rooms, 1 bathroom (shower and WC), 1 cellar room (washing machine). The province of Nova Scotia / New Scotland consists of a peninsula that is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean. Countless stunning bays with great beaches and picturesque fishing villages surround the coasts. In the middle of Nova Scotia you will find nearly countless lake landscapes with hundreds of small islands. One of these lakes is the Ponhook Lake near the city of Bridgewater, about 120 km south of Halifax, a central starting point for discovering Nova Scotia. If you speak of Canada, you almost automatically think on the cold north and the unending expansiveness that goes far to Alaska (USA) and towards the North Polar Sea. Many people do not know that the southernmost provinces that border the USA are at the same altitude as southern France / northern Spain.

  • Due to the particularly peaceful location by the Ponhook Lake, a relaxing holiday with enough privacy is guaranteed. The protected location invites you to sunbathe undisturbed, to drink coffee or to have a BBQ. Top floor: house entrance and hallway. The open kitchen and the living room are designed as a large living room. The kitchen is completely equipped and allows you to cook by yourself. 2 double rooms, each with a private bathroom (shower and WC). Lower floor: kitchen with a dining room, 2 double rooms, 1 bathroom (shower and WC), 1 cellar room (washing machine). From the guest house you only need to go down the shore steps and you can already swim in the Ponhook Lake. During the summer months, the water temperature is normally above 25 C and for excursions on the lake, there are two canoes available.

Wir haben zu 4., Ehepaar mit 2 Jugendlichen (14 und 16 Jahre) in diesem Haus am Ballou Point gewohnt. Das Haus ist für ein Ferienhaus sehr geräumig mit hohem Standard der Inneneinrichtung und ideal um Ausflüge nach Liverpool, Mahone Bay, Lunenburg, Kejimujik Nationalpark, Halifax, Peggys Cove, Summerville Beach und Brier Island (Whale Watching) etc. zu unternehmen. Die Lighthouse-Route liegt vor der Haustür. Die herzliche zurückhaltende und hilfsbereite Art der Vermieter haben wir sehr geschätzt. Das Haus liegt unmittelbar an einem großen See, dem Ponhook Lake, in dem bei Wassertemperaturen um 25 Grad Celsius sehr gut geschwommen werden kann und der zu Erkundungstouren mit dem Kanu einlädt. Das Haus war sehr sauber und gepflegt. Die Beschreibung des Ferienhauses ist sehr treffend bzw. wird von den tatsächlichen Gegebenheiten übertroffen.
Wir haben dort einen sehr schönen Urlaub verbracht und können dieses Haus jederzeit weiter empfehlen!

Das Objekt entspricht sehr genau der Beschreibung im Online-Inserat. Auch der Bilderbogen vermittelt einen detailgetreuen Einblick in die Gegebenheiten vor Ort. Der Zustand des Ferienhauses war sehr gut, vor allem aber in jeder Hinsicht reinlich und gepflegt. Der Hang des Vermieters zu baulicher und handwerklicher Perfektion im Haus ist unübersehbar. Der Vermieter unterhält ein eigenes Haus in unmittelbarer Umgebung, so dass auf Hilfestellung bei Präsenz vor Ort sofort zurückgegriffen werden kann. Wer Ruhe und Abstand vom Alltag sucht, gepaart mit etwas Abenteuergefühl, ist hier bestens aufgehoben.
