This is a beautiful 1BR in a perfect location, that can easily accommodate up to 4 people. Far better than a tiny hotel room in the NYC for less money.
The apartment is located in Lower East Side of Manhattan. It's a wonderful “pre-war” building and is a six story, elevator building. Honestly, I don't wanna give this place a good review because I'm afraid it's gonna be booked up the next time we visit the city! Just kidding...this location couldn't be better. Subway stop just a couple of blocks away, great eats all within walking distance. The only flaw I could find would be the traffic noise from the street but hey, grab some earplugs and you'll sleep like a baby. Actually, you don't even notice it after awhile.
This apartment was really comfy and clean, we didn't mind just hangin out there when we were tired. Starbucks right across the street was a plus! Thanks Jake! I'm gonna recommened you to all my friends who go up for a visit :)
If you're lucky, Jake will not be using his wonderful apartment so that he can rent it to you while you're visiting NYC! It rained a lot the week we were there, but we felt safe and snug in this open and cheery home away from home. We loved walking around the neighborhood and finding little out of the way places to eat (like The Himalaya Restaurant) and we were so close to public transportation that we had absolutely no trouble getting anywhere in the city in record time. At first we had to get used to the outside traffic noise five stories below us (and yes, there is an elevator, which is a blessing). But that was such a small, small price to pay for feeling like we were really in the thick of things. Plus, the night view from our windows of the lit Empire State Building gave me goosebumps! Thank you, Jake, for making our NYC visit so much better than it would have been had we stayed any where else!
Everything about our stay couldn't have been better. The apartment itself was very neat, clean and in such a cool area. All of the amenities provided made it feel like home. Plenty of clean linens and towels on hand for the two of us staying five days in NYC. Again, the location was excellent, very easy access to the F train, as well as plenty of cabs around as well.
The neighborhood information provided by Jake (restaurants, drug stores, sight-seeing, etc) was great as well...we discovered some new favorites! Jake was such a nice guy and very clear in all communication leading up to, during, and after our stay. Couldn't have asked for a better trip and we're already planning our next stay. Can't say enough great things about the place, so when my boyfriend and I come back to NYC, I see no reason to stay anywhere else!
Neighborhood is extraordinarily hip and fun.
• Tons of the newest clubs, restaurants and bars
• Right next to Soho, East Village/Alphabet City, and Chinatown
• Within 3-5 blocks of 3 subway lines (4/5/6, F/V, B/D)
• Perfect view of the Empire State Building
