Water's Edge is located 5 miles north of San Pedro Town on the island of Ambergris Caye. This property is a true example of Caribbean luxury with 26’ ceilings in the living and dining areas. The designer kitchen includes 3 sinks, a dishwasher, and a 4 burner 60 inch Wolf double oven with infrared grill and griddle. There are commercial grade pots and pans enough for a small family or large party. Subzero refrigeration and wine cooler provide ample storage. This is definitely the most impressive kitchen on the Island.
The infinity edge pool and pool deck is a new addition to Water's Edge. It is a great place to relax, cool down, and enjoy the beautiful location. You will also enjoy relaxing on the new dock with palapa and lounge chairs.
The four bedrooms in the main house have queen beds with high quality American mattresses, new linens and pillows. The optional fifth bedroom apartment includes two twin beds or one king as well as a full kitchen and bath. The apartment can be rented for an additional $125US per night. Each room is air conditioned and there are ceiling fans throughout. There is a 55” TV and DVD player in the den. The house also has a 600 sq ft veranda with an amazing view of the Caribbean Sea and reef. You can enjoy the view and breeze from here or enjoy a meal with your friends and/or family on our two large dining tables. There is a kayak, a paddle board, inter tubes, and 4 bicycles for your enjoyment. The Mata Grande store, which delivers, is a very short walk from the house. Restaurants within a 10 minute walk are Rojo Beach Bar and Lounge, and Mata Chica Resort. Also within walking distance are Portofino Resort and Jambel’s Jerk Pit.
Commercial and private water taxis are numerous and close by to this prime location.
until she and we waved, bye, bye Belize, Water’s Edge exceeded our expectations. The house at the end of the long dock is spacious yet welcoming. We enjoyed its big white beach, lavish landscape and very well-appointed interior and the cobalt blue salt-water infinity pool. The large veranda and tall French-doors enhance the Caribbean feel. There was ample room inside and out for our group of 6 adults and one child. I spotted dolphins right off the dock! One of my favorite spots was a lounge chair at the pool’s shallow end. When not snorkeling, paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing or scuba diving, my husband dozed or read in the hammocks. We snorkeled near the dock, chased rays and were thrilled by hundreds of fish close to the shore. We could also fish from the dock even at night and its lights welcomed us back from our night excursions. We used water taxis when we wanted to venture to and from town. They have regularly scheduled stops at nearby docks throughout the day, or a very reasonably priced private charter is just a phone call away. They were always on time and the captains all knew Water’s Edge. If you are looking for a fishing and/or snorkeling trip, then find Eric the captain of Uprising. My husband and I each reeled-in fish on our first try at deep sea fishing. Our daughter in law caught an eight foot shark with them a few days before our trip. He also took us to a spot inside the reef named Mexico Rocks. Wonderful! Floating amidst graceful rays and sharks, thousands of glittering fish, discovering a bright green moray eel and bold coral formations with Jiggy, his first mate/snorkeling guide, was amazing. The crew of Uprising was very attentive to our needs. They grilled my red snapper for lunch along with just caught lobster and served them on palm leaves with grilled pineapple. Delish! This was a great place for a tropical vacation! The house was perfect for us, with plenty of space and accommodations for seven of us to be comfortable and relaxed. We snorkeled in beautiful clear water right around the dock at the house, where we were joined by rays, needle fish and schools of snapper. Lounging around the beautiful infinity edge pool or sitting on the veranda and enjoying the fantastic sunrise were always marvelous. The kitchen was very well equipped with upscale appliances to cook for and serve our entire group, when we felt like it. And, when we wanted to experience the local cuisine or bars, there were a couple of fun places with great food just a short walk up the beach. When we went on excursions to experience some of the amazing local dive spots, the friendly folks at Chuck & Robbie’s picked us up at our dock, showed us a great time diving at some of the best dive spots on the magnificent local barrier reef then returned us back again at the end of the day. Likewise, the guys at Uprising Fishing, when taking us for a great day of fishing, snorkeling, and grilling our days catch on the beach picked us up, and returned us “home” again. And more dining and shopping in San Pedro was just a short water taxi ride away, with local folks who always knew “Waters Edge”. It was easy to quickly feel relaxed and at home in this beautiful house and beautiful setting with very friendly and helpful local people.
This large waterfront home was perfect for me and my husband for an island getaway. Secluded yet within walking distance to a grocery store, casual walk-up cafe, and beachfront bars and restaurants. The home is thoughtfully furnished and stocked with impeccable kitchen, bar, glassware, and cooking utensils. The linens are luxurious and in ample supply. We enjoyed fishing off the docks in front of the house and walking the beach. The water taxi is the usual mode of transportation if you prefer to head into central town for shopping and dining. This is a large home and comfortably accommodates a group of 8. Once we settled in we rarely left the neighborhood. The patio overlooking the pool and water was our headquarters for our entire stay. The resident caretaker was exceptional as was the property manager in town. You can arrange for a chef to help with meals but we found this unnecessary. There are some excellent large grocery stores in town and it was fun preparing our own meals on our own schedule. Highly recommend if you want privacy, waterfront, and 5-star accommodations.
This gorgeous home was perfect for our trip. The chef's kitchen allowed for us to cook meals at the house and the grocery store is only a short 5 minute walk away. There is a paddle board, kayak, infinity edge pool and 2 hammocks to relax in. We took the tubes out into the water and swam in the ocean daily! The owners of this home have thought of every detail and it shows. Definitely will be going back!
