Best apartment you could wish for!

  • 5 of 5
My husband gave me an eight day stay in Rome for my 50th birthday and we were fortunate enough to stay in Cristina's wonderful apartment, a short walk from the Vatican. The apartment was the icing on a wonderful cake, it was warm and cosy when we arrived on a windswept, damp Wednesday evening, and immaculately clean. On a practical basis the apartment is brilliantly located, a taxi rank and bus stops are 2 minutes away, as are several excellent non touristy restaurants. There is an excellent small supermarket in the next building and a larger one 2 minutes walk away. The facilities at the apartment were excellent and if I'd felt like cooking a roast for 6 I could have! The kitchen was very functional and stocked with everything the serious cook or casual egg boiler would require. After a day of seeing the sights we watched DVD's, including Roman Holiday, which is a must, or perused the many books (in several languages) listened to music or sat quietly enjoying the ambience. We were surprised how quiet it was at the apartment, it was hard to believe we were in the centre of a major city. There was enough storage for several guests, and the bed was gloriously comfortable. We loved our week in Rome, it was wonderful to visit the Vatican Museums, the Coliseum and other well known tourist sites, it was also a joy to discover hidden treasures such as the world's largest Etruscan collection! I look forward to our next journey to this fascinating and beautiful city and staying once again in this fabulous apartment. We joyed some excellent food in Rome, including a delicious Indian/Pakistani meal!

Roman holiday

  • 5 of 5
Cristina is prompt, professional and proficient. She is a pleasure to deal with. The apartment is very large and very well laid out. The living room is large and can accommodate extra adults with privacy. I understand the bathroom is being upgraded currently. You are about 15 minutes by foot from the Vatican and the area is extremely well connected by an efficient bus system. Metro not convenient but not essential either. The area has all necessary services but is rather busy and bustling. There is noise from the street, but then again, must of Rome is rather noisy. I short, a lovely experience and hope to repeat next year. Thank you Cristina.

Owner's Response: Thanks a lot Maurizio, I'll be more then happy to welcome you again next year. Currently June 2014, we are renewing the bathroom so pictures of the brand new bathroom will be shown soon (after September 2014). I agree with you about the Metro, it is not essential for Rome since the bus system around the apartment allows you to reach every part of the city and San Pietro Basilica is a short walk away. About the street noise, as you know it is all about from 16:30 to 17:00 when young children get off school, which is in front of the apartment. The small playground in front of the apartment during spring and summer time has playing kids which lighten up our days. Usually when windows are closed during winter and fall time, noise is almost non-existent. Thanks a lot again. Cristina

Make this your home in Rome!

  • 5 of 5
We spent 3 days in Cristina and Carla’s lovely Rome apartment, and what a pleasure it was. It was like really living in Rome, not in a tourist center but as part of a neighborhood. Located just a ten-minute walk from St. Peter’s, there is easy access to grocery shops, restaurants and a bank. We enjoyed the morning market just around the corner, where we bought fresh fruit and vegetables to prepare in the spotless and very well-equipped kitchen.
The apartment is spacious, light and airy, and furnished with a mix of modern and lovely antique furniture. In the afternoons it was nice to have a cold drink on the balcony overlooking the street, listening to the happy sounds of the children playing in the little park across the street.
The information provided by Cristina was exceptionally complete and useful. She was able to arrange a last-minute personal tour of Rome for us, but those arrangements should really be made farther in advance (we were lucky!)
Blue Classic Home was a delight, even more than we expected.

Greatest apartment ever! Best experience ever :-)

  • 5 of 5
100% recommended. Don't waste your time, this is the best place in Rome to stay.
The experience was one of the best around Europe. The apartment is very clean, spacious and comfortable. Everything was perfectly organized for us, the location is excellent: buses are walking so it is very easy to go sightseeing everywhere in Rome. The bed is super comfortable and the bedrooms have a lot of of space to keep the stuff.
Upon arrival Cristina greeted us, showed us her lovely home and there was a bottle of Italian wine ready for us.
We were so glad we booked our stay at the blue classic home. The apartment was excellent, the location and neighborhood was convenient and with awesome food nearby!!! I would definitely rent this apartment again and I would highly suggest others as well if your staying in Rome.
Cristina is truly a great host who pays attention to details to make sure her guests are comfortable and well taken care of, she also sent us several information before our arrival so we haven't need anything else to know.
Thank you Cristina!

Lots of room in a great location

  • 5 of 5
The Blue Classic Home is a nice-sized apartment with ample living room, dining area, entry hall for your umbrellas and bags, a large master bed room, smaller second bed room, complete bathroom and well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed the luxury of so much space - especially after seeing the teeny room of our friends in a boutique hotel! We would happily stay there again and recommend it to you.

The apartment is located to the northwest of the Vatican. Not near any subway, and we couldn't figure out the buses (although there are maps and directions in the apartment) so we took taxis most places, for an average of $12Euro per trip. We only had to walk two blocks to a major street for that. There's no real view from the apartment as it's in an ordinary neighborhood. But walk two blocks and you can see the top of St. Peter's right down the way.

There's a washing machine, making packing easier. There's a fabulous farmer's market right across the street every day but Sunday, and we got our eggs, bread, prosciutto, wine and cheese there. Excellent!

My friend took the master bed room with a nice big bed and was very comfortable. I had the much smaller bed in the second bedroom and it's really too small for most adults and the springs are SHOT. There's plenty of room there for a bigger bed and I hope they install a new one. Lots and lots of closet space.

Comfortable living room with nice TV but NO English language channels. It would be very nice to have at least one English news channel, like CNN, BBC, Sky, etc. We watched things online and read a lot. (The weather in November was very chilly and rainy.)

Not at all the fault of the apartment was our horrible experience with dining in Rome. We ate in local, neighborhood restaurants (and it's not a tourist neighborhood) filled with locals. The food, in place after place, meal after meal was unremittingly AWFUL. Straight out of a can, it seemed. Everywhere! By the end of our week we gave up and started cooking our dinners as well as breakfasts. A MAJOR disappointment to any trip to Rome and really shocking compared to our multiple earlier trips. No idea why this was.

Our host, Christina, welcomed us in English, helped us get settled and also kindly arranged our airport transfers at a reasonable price. If there had been any problems she was just a phone call away. Much appreciated!

Owner's Response: Dear Melinda,
first of all thanks so much for writing your nice review about my apartment.
It was a real pleasure to host you and your friend at my apartment in Rome.
I'm glad you had a nice stay and you enjoyed the area.
Here some more info:
- The smaller room where you slept is meant to be a room for children that's why we just have a single small bed there. We recently put another pull out bed making the room sleeping 2 children. We also did some more changes to make it more comfortable.
- The closest subway station is Ottaviano San Pietro but the subway service in Rome is very poor and the apartment is perfectly connected to the historical city center with buses that are on the main street (2 blocks away). I'm glad you used the taxi service for a very reasonable price anyway.
- About the English channels it is a mistery for us because sometimes they appear sometimes they disappear! It is the Italian digital TV service. The TV provides the "change language" preference and if you put English you can watch movies in English when the service is provided by the channel.
- I'm so shocked you had a bad experience about Roman restaurants in the neighborhood for dining because there are very good restaurants nearby. I also leave close to the apartment and often go to some restaurants close by. I'm so afraid of this. Next time I will give you some more advices and tips about what to eat and where to go!
I'm happy anyway you enjoyed the apartment and I'll be glad to meet you again next time in Rome.
Best,
Cristina

The apartment is located in one of the most famous, important and distinguished area of Rome.

The neighbourhood 'Aurelio - Gregorio VII°' is one of the best connected area of Rome !

The location is extremely central for its proximity to the Vatican City.

It is also close to many historical landmarks that can be easily reached either on foot or by buses.

Our apartment is located at walking distance to many bus stops.

It is literally footsteps away from Saint Peter's Basilica, the famous 'Sistine Chapel' and the Vatican City (the smallest State in the world).

Gregorio VII° is a wide street with many furniture shops that make the area very refined.

The rest of the neighbourhood will offer a big choice of characteristic restaurants, wine-bars, 'gelateria' (ice cream shops) and take away famous pizzerias !

It is very well connected with the historical city centre of Rome and with all the main tourist sights:

2 minutes walk to Via Gregorio VII° where you can find many bus stops:

Bus Line 916 leading to: Corso Vittorio, Campo de' Fiori, Navona Square, Pantheon, and Piazza Venezia.

Bus Line 881,46B and 98 leading to: Tiber river, Saint Angel's Castle and to an important bus hub.

Bus Line 571 leading to: Corso Vittorio, Campo de' Fiori, Navona Square, Pantheon, Piazza Venezia, Imperial Forums, The Colosseum, Saint John's Basilica.

Bus Line 34 leading to: Saint Angel's Castel and Cavour Square (perfect to reach Via Cola di Rienzo famous shopping area).

Bus Line 64 leading to: Corso Vittorio, Campo de’ Fiori, Navona Square, Pantheon, Piazza Venezia, Via Nazionale and Termini Station.

2 minutes walk to reach 'Saint Peter's' railway station that is part of the 'railway ring' of the City. You can reach the north part of Rome and even the City center in few minutes.

10 minutes by Bus Line 982 to reach the closest Subway stop Line A called 'Ottaviano - San Pietro'
