'CAN'T EMPHASISE HOW BRILLIANT THIS HOUSE IS.' REVIEW COMMENT

Crieff, Comrie and Strathearn House Rental Photos and Description

Ideal for families, golfers, walkers and get togethers

Lincluden is a bright, spacious, comfortable, well equipped Edwardian sandstone house accommodating 10+ (with reduced rates for small groups) It has secluded gardens, a vegetable plot, a chicken house for a daily supply of fresh eggs, a patio with a picnic table, and a gas BBQ. Outdoors there are a selection of recliners and games equipment.

The lounge has an open fire, a wide selection of books, toys, games, CDs and DVDs. The dining room has a farmhouse table to seat 10 adjoining a well-equipped kitchen and a separate laundry. There is a king sized bedroom downstairs with en-suite shower room.

Upstairs the master bedroom has views of the Ochil Hills from the bay window. There are two twin bedrooms and a king sized bedroom, a family bathroom , a separate shower room and toilet.

Despite the quiet location it is only a five minute walk from the town centre and from the Crieff Hydro Hotel where you can buy day passes for the leisure facilities. Gleneagles Hotel is only 10 miles away.

Despite its quiet location Lincluden is only a five minute walk from Crieff town centre, so there is a great choice of pubs, restaurants and attractions right on the doorstep.

Nearby the Fair City of Perth has excellent shopping, restaurants, theatres and leisure facilities including Perth racecourse and Scone Palace where the ancient Kings of Scotland were crowned.

Stirling has a spectacular castle and, for the energetic, a climb up to the Wallace Monument offers panoramic views over the historic site of the battle of Bannockburn, as far east as the Forth Bridge by Edinburgh and Ben Lomond to the west.

Perthshire has many excellent walks and cycle paths including Birnam Woods in Dunkeld, the setting for Macbeth, many rivers and lochs provide excellent fishing, canoeing and sailing and there are numerous golf courses that welcome visitors including Gleneagles (20km).

As a holiday house in Scotland, Lincluden is ideally situated for exploring much of Scotland - Aberdeen, Inverness, St. Andrews, Oban, Glasgow and Edinburgh are all less than two hours drive.

Guest book comments: 'Amazing house, bigger and better than we expected, perfect for our golfing holiday.' P Simpson London

'Brilliant location, lovely house, space for three generations and lots of things to d. We'll be back.' C Russell, Cumbria

'Fantastic holiday, great location, lovely house.' J Lister, Cheshire.

We travelled to Scotland for a family wedding. There were 10 of us altogether, with ages ranging from 65 down to 6 months!! We fitted into Lincluden with no difficulty at all. The house is just perfect to absorb such a large number. Wonderfully comfortable beds with plenty of space. The house is perfect situated for trips to all of the surrounding area and when we all returned exhausted, it was great to have a huge family room with an open fire. The younger members of the family particularly enjoyed the chickens and collecting the eggs in the morning. The owner Brian and his wife were wonderful hosts – always there if we needed assistance, but never intrusive.

In short Lincluden made for a perfect setting for a family holiday – we sincerely hope to repeat this!! The Barry Family Wiltshire

'I write you, that we had a very good vacation in your nice scottish House Lincluden. We've use your offer to collect all the eggs from chicken. We have had very nice evennings at the big table to discuss about God and the world. And the important thing of all: It was very quiet for all in the night. And for me: I like it so much to speek with you. That you gave us tipps where to go. We've seen a small part of Scottland, but it was very nice. Thank you very much for all'

A wonderful home - so central to everything!

Our family went to Scotland and found ourselves in a lovely home with lots of room for privacy as well as great family get togethers! We travelled with three adult children, two of whom had partners with them - hence the need for some privacy. We all really enjoyed the house as well as the proximatey so to many wonderful sites - we drove west to Loch Lomond, east to Perth and St Andrews, south to Stirling castle, north to Edradour (the only original Scotch distillary still operating) and to the highlands. Crieff is so central we had our choice of so many places to visit. The owner, Brian, is a wonderful host, helpful but never intrusuve. The house was very well equipped but we particularly enjoyed the great dining table, modern appliances, the lovely garden and, believe it or not, all of the board games!
There are many original features in this lovely old home including stained glass and fantastic wide planked wood floors.
We all highly recommend this property - for a group of adults or families - even with young children.

An excellent choice for a family reunion. Lots of room in a warm well equipped house. Five good sized bedrooms although please note that one of them is accessed through another. The house is clean, well maintained and has every facility for an enjoyable stay. The owners who live nearby were extremely hospitable and helpful. Crieff itself has all the services you require and there is a delightful French restaurant a two minute walk away.

Location and house ideal for families

This house has all you could require for a great family break. We all enjoyed the house, the children loved the hens, running out to the garden every morning to check for fresh eggs. The house was clean and well looked after with a good choice of rooms for all mixes of groups. Crieff is a perfect location for exploring Perthshire. There are some new places to eat in the town including The Loft. The sweet shop is a dangerous place for a sweet tooth, spending a fortune. Brian the owner was of great help and provided a warm welcome, taking us through the house when we arrived. We will stay again.

Lovely spacious, well equipped and well maintained property within easy walk of Crieff town centre (best beer in The Castle), and within 30 miles or so of some cracking golf courses.
Brian and Ann were very welcoming but unobtrusive and we always felt that they would be available should we need anything.
Not only would I recommend it to a friend, I shall recommend it to myself next time I'm in the area!!
