About Almasera: The Rural Hotel Almasera is a former olive mill dating from the 15th century and was taken over by our Team in 1997. After a complete Renovation in Iberian-Moorish style, it offers accommodation in 6 individually decorated rooms and 4 self contained apartments. We offer accommodation for individual travellers and groups (walking, bike, birding etc.), who like to stay away from the crowds, wanting to stay in rural surroundings, but only 30 km from the most beautiful beaches of the Costa Blanca and Azahar. Our house caters in the typical B&B style with the option to have diner in our Mignon Restaurant open exclusively for our guests. Enjoy the sensation of a special holiday in a friendly atmosphere, in the beautiful mountains of the “Marina Alta” and take advantage of our Wellbeing, Yoga, Walking and Hiking Programmes. The village of Margarida is located in the historical medieval region of the Baronial town “Planes de la Baronia”, in the middle of the famous mountain region “Les Valls de la Marina”. Surrounded by valleys - The Moorish Valley Vall de Alcala, the Vall de Gallinera one of the oldest Spanish trade routes, the Vall de Seta the mushroom valley, the Vall de Pop the wine valley and the Vall de Travadell famous for its mountains full of wildlife. Only 90 km from the Airports of Valencia and Alicante and just 30km away from the beaches of the Costa Blanca you will find this area which is not spoiled by tourist attractions and offers a vast amount of local offers for the individual traveller. The small village of Margarida, dating back to the 14th century has nowadays 45 inhabitants. 3 narrow streets form the village centre, the local bar, an art gallery, a beautiful souvenir and information shop and our guesthouse are the only businesses in the village.

The Canyon „Barranco de La Encantada“. The enchanted canyon invites you to swim in clear lagoons and waterfalls and the „Barranco del Infierno“ the Hells Canyon offers canyon climbing between its spectacular stone formations. The mountain ranges of Benicadell and Montcabrer with heights up to 1.450 m make for real mountain walking with unforgettable views to the plateau of La Mancha. The Lake of Beniarress, fed by the Rio Jucar is popular with fishing enthusiasts. The Heights of the Sierra Serella are ideal for Paragliding. Flora and Fauna in abundance.

Ich entdeckte schon vor einigen Jahren auf Empfehlung von Freunden das Landhotel Almasera. Zum bisher letzten Mal war ich im Winter 2007/2008 dort und habe ein Foto des farbenfrohen Ensembles am Ortsrand, oberhalb der Oliven- und Mandelhaine, seither als Desktop-Hintergrund auf meinem PC. (Das sagt vielleicht mehr, als 1000 blumige Worte.)

Eine Woche in der Almasera ist Erholung pur - in der Mitte von Nirgendwo.
Der freundliche und aufmerksame deutsche Besitzer hat immer neue Tipps für Wanderungen und Ausflüge in historische Bergstädtchen oder an die Küste parat, so dass man viel mehr sieht, entdeckt und erlebt, als es sämtliche Reiseführer jemals ermöglichen. Mit dem Aufenthalt in Margarida verbinde ich sowohl Erinnerungen an schöne Felsküsten-Strandtage wie auch an spektakuläre Bergwanderungen auf den Spuren der Mauren.

Das Haus ist individuell und mit Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Den ursprünglichen Plan, abends im Appartment zu kochen, hatten wir gleich bei unserem ersten Urlaub, angesichts der Köstlichkeiten, die der Chef des Hauses im gastlichen Restaurant offerierte, verworfen.
Unvergesslich ist mir beispielsweise die Lammtajine beim maurischen Abend, im Garten des Hauses auf dem Feuer gegart. Dazu ein passender Wein aus der trefflichen Auswahl des Hauses - Ein Traum!
Und das alles in einem lockeren, ungezwungenen, herzlichen und freundlichen Ambiente.

Soeben überkommt mich das Fernweh.
Es ist wieder einmal höchste Zeit für eine Woche "zu Gast bei Freunden".

Genießen, Entspannen, Erholung pur

Ich kann die Almasera uneingeschränkt empfehlen für alle die Ruhe, Entspannung, kulinarische Genüsse aber auch ein großes Angebot an Bewegung (wandern, schwimmen, radfahren) und Kultur (hier vor allem Überreste der maurischen Baudenkmäler) suchen. Das Landhotel leuchtet schon weithin sichtbar bunt und einladend und hält was es verspricht.
Schon zu allen Jahreszeiten war ich dort, besonders schön fand ich es im Frühling, wenn man sich bei dem Blick ins Tal nicht satt sehen kann an den blühenden Mandel- und Kirschbäumen.
Die Homepage stimmt mit den vorgefundenen Verhältnissen vollständig überein, die Zimmer sind sehr gepflegt und sauber und wirklich geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die zuvorkommende Betreuung durch die Vermieter, die immer bemüht sind, alle Wünsche zu erfüllen und mit ihrer Kompetenz, ihren Kochkünsten und mit ihrer guten Laune eine sehr entspannte Atmosphäre zaubern.
