This apartment is located in the 5th story and offers a lot of comfort and has a very central location by downtown Munich. The 5 story building has a large, wheelchair accessible elevator and is very easy to reach with both an automobile and public transportation. The apartment offers a very quiet and cozy ambiance. An exclusive PC bar with a desktop computer and WLAN with unlimited usage and unlimited data transfer also belong to the apartment.

Hiking and recreation: Hiking: the alps can be reached in less than 1 hour with a car. All royal palaces can be reached in a few hours drive. The attractive Starnbergersee is located near to Munich and is only a 10 minute drive away.
The apartment is quiet and on the top (5th) floor. The owner met us at the agreed time and talked us through everything we needed to know. The St Martin Str S Barn is a 5 minute walk and the tram stops at the end of the road (A 3 day tram, Bus, S Barn and U barn ticket is 26 Euro's for 5 people). You can reach Marienplatz in 10 - 15 minutes by tram and virtually all main visitor attractions within 30 minutes from the apartment (Dachau is about 40 minutes including the local bus for one stop) We recommend eating at the Hofbrauhaus in Max Weber Platz which has a lovely beer garden and although smaller than the main one in the city center is less commercial and lovely on a summer day. We would also recommend eating at the Brecherspitze on the corner of Eintracht Str which is two minutes from the apartment and offers good food at reasonable prices. We visited the Botanical Gardens (near Nymphenburg Palace (Not the disused one in the city center) which was great and also liked Marianplatz with the Glockenspiel and the Olympic Park and Deutsches Museum which is huge. The Zoo is really impressive and refreshingly different from others we have seen. The English garden is really relaxing and you can even watch surfing on the evening Eisbach tide nearby. The highlight for us though was the Kartoffel (Potato) Museum in Grafinger Str near Ostbahnhof Station. This is a bizarre museum and our 16 year old could not stop laughing at the Potato related pictures and exhibits. Overall we loved the apartment, Munich and the German people and would recommend it to anyone who likes loads to see or simply relax in a cafe or beer garden.
We really enjoyed our stay in Schliersee straße . We found the apartment to be clean, well equipped and convenient for the train station. It was excellent having two bathrooms, although we stuck to using only one of the two kitchens! Laundry facilities were great too. It was also great having a couple of travel guides at the apartment, with maps etc. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks to Sven!!
The Apartment is very conveniently located, just as described, about 2 short blocks away from both the S Bahn (St Martin Strasse S3 &S7) and the No17 tram (which goes through the centre of Munich and then to Schloss Nymphenburg). There are 2 small supermarkets near where you catch the tram, and some other food shops just across the road from the supermarkets.
The Apartment is very clean, and the owners are helpful and freindly. If you have a family or a group then the two toilets and showers are a nice bonus for getting everyone up and ready. There is a step into both showers which might make them unsuitable for the elderly or infirm without assistance.
The kitchens (there are two) in the Apartment are well provided with pots, implements etc for home cooking. My only remark here is that a second oven rack would make things easier for winter cooking.
We stayed over Christmas and New Year (Silvester) and the Apartment was very cosy and warm. Christmas is a fun time to be in Munich with the lights and Christmas Markets, some of which are really different to ones in other cities, like the Medieval Market at Wittelsbacher Platz. On New Year’s Eve being on the 5th floor meant we got a great view of the fireworks that the people of Munich love to set off and the sound really echoes off the buildings too.
There is a lot to do and see in Munich – but most things are shut on the 25th Dec and 1st Jan, and you will also need to check which attractions are open on 26th and the 31st Dec. However, the Bayern Card makes it cheap to travel by train around the region and the ski fields are open on all these days. A day trip to the Zugspitze by train makes for a very white Christmas! Depending where you are coming from, you need to be aware that shops in Germany, including the supermarkets, are shut on Sundays. But if you are travelling you will find the food outlets at the Hauptbahnhof, the regional stations and ski-fields are open.
We really enjoyed our time in Schlerisee, and would happily recommend it as a great place to stay.
Wonderful accomodation ,lovely clean spacious apartment, thoroughly recommended.Would definately stay there again. Philip Davies. 24th September, 2012
We have used vacation/holiday rentals throughout Europe for many years. This is by far one of the best we have stayed in. The flat was perfect. It was all that was promised in the listing and more - a home away from home. Everything was spotless, well maintained, and perfectly stocked. The washer and dryer was an added bonus. The flat is a quick 5 minute walk from the s-bahn, which made it very convenient to get into the center city. We were a block from the grocery store.
We called Sven from the central station and he met us at the apartment. He gave us his phone number in the event we needed anything else, but again everything was perfect and there was no need to contact him.
We highly recommend this flat and would love to stay again if we are ever in Munich.
Family of 4 from U.S. (couple with 22 y.o. and 11 y.o. sons) stayed 5 nights; clean, comfortable, quaint, and nicely furnished, just 2 blocks to train station. Bedrooms small but functional with adequate drawers; closet storage good for clothing but not spacious enough to store moderate to larger sized suitcases out of the way in the bedrooms. Not many restaurants within few blocks, but small grocery store 1 block away. Nice partly shaded, partly sunny small park at end of the street. Convenient to all Munich attractions by train, adequate street parking if you rent a vehicle. Washer convenient, dryer takes a few hours to get clothing "mostly dry".
Do take a side trip to Salzburg by Bayern ticket after seeing sights in and around Munich. We enjoyed Dachau, Marienplatz, Schloss Nymphenburg, Deutsches Museum, and we suggest taking a day drive to nearby lake such as Tegernsee or Chiemsee. Ratskellar and Hofbrauhaus have traditional atmosphere and Bavarian dining. Strong, complimentary Wi-fi signal an added plus. We do wish to emphasize that owner / hostess Ines was immensely helpful via prompt email responses to all questions on many occasions. Yes, we would recommend this property to friends and family.
