Pink Gate Cottage is located in a stunning part of the island, with fantastic views of the Atlantic Ocean, the 'Blasket Islands' and ‘Dingle Bay'. This traditional 200 year old Irish cottage was recently renovated to high standard. It has a large garden with private entrance, parking, and sunny patio area with facilities for 'al fresco' dining. You will also find a double hammock in the garden where you can enjoy a glass of wine while overlooking the sailing boats going by in 'Dingle Bay'. The ground floor has a king size Victorian bed, walk in wardrobe and en-suite with power shower etc. The big country kitchen with stove and very high quality fittings leads to the sitting room - again furnished to the highest standard - leads to the winter garden with large glass windows that will make the best of the views over ocean. Upstairs, there are 2 bedrooms, 1 super king size bed and 2 single beds. A large bathroom with freestanding Victorian bath has a separate toilette. Wonderful at Xmas.

Pink Gate Cottage is located in a stunning part of the island connected to the main land with a road bridge and in the summer also with a ferry. The cottage offers fantastic views of the Atlantic Ocean, the 'Blasket Islands' and ‘Dingle Bay'. The proximity to the Gulf Stream gives it a subtropical climate creating a special fauna and flora making it the ideal location for walking in a very special and unique environment. St. Brendan's Well, a natural spring with reputed healing powers, is only a short walk from the cottage. Portmagee, a small fishing village is 2kms from 'pink gate cottage' and offers a variety of activities - angling, water sports, and boat excursions to the 'Skellig Rock' as well as some very good fish restaurants. Knightstown on the eastern end of the island with a ferry connection to the main land is a picturesque small village with cafes, bars, restaurants and shops offering local crafts and art. Valentia Island is the perfect location for a very special holiday

Fishing/ golf: Just 2 kilometres from 'pink gate cottage, in the harbour village of Portmagee, you will find many possibilities for different water sports activates, deep see fishing, excursions to the 'Skellig rock'. Within 15 km are the famous fishing lakes of Waterville were salmon and sea trout can be caught.

Excursions: The scenically stunning 'Ring of Kerry' is a must. The chocolate factory in Ballinskelligs, world famous for its hand made chocolates has to be visited more than once. The Nature Park in Killarney is also worth a visit for shopping in Kenmare and Killarney.

Dining: The small fishing village of Portmagee, just a few minutes by car from 'pink gate cottage' has a great choice of restaurants and bars where food is served all day and where you can sit outside overlooking the harbour and its activities. Knightstown also has a great choice of fisher restaurants, pubs and hotels that serve good local cuisine.

A Super Cottage on a Fantastic Island!!

My wife , my 2 year old son and I stayed for a week, the cottage was 1st class, there was a really traditional feel coupled with all the mod cons you'd except from a 4* property, I really liked the attention to detail(Books ,Candels, Artwork, Real Fires etc) and there was loads of room for the little guy to run around in the gardens and a gate to keep him safe and secure!
The Island is a real gem, loads of walks and stunning scenery, for eating we really liked the Light House Cafe ( great sandpit and play area) and for evening dining we went to the Moorings in Port Magee an excellent spot!!
We have stayed in other places where we felt that the owners where over powering but after Tim gave us a quick run through , he left us to it , which was perfect!
I'd recommend this cottage and will certainly return to it in the future,

Pink Gate Cottage is the perfect base to relax and enjoy this beautiful part of the world.
Fully equipped and blissfully comfortable,the cottage offers everything you could possibly need for a wonderful holiday.
The friendly and helpful owners provide useful local information and there is plenty to see and do in the area.

A truly beautiful location and a cottage with extremely high level of finish and facilities made our holiday very enjoyable. Would even recommend to the most fussy of tenant.

Das Pink Cottage ist sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und man fühlt sich wirklich sehr wohl.
Für Ruhesuchende ist das Haus ideal gelegen und auch für Familien, da es gross und räumig ist.
Die wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten (Skellig Ring, Kelly Ring Dingle island) sind per Auto gut erreichbar und auf Valentia Island kann man auch sehr schöne Spaziergänge machen.

Haus, Land und Leute....einfach toll!

Wir, 3 Erwachsene und 2 Kinder (16 und 11 Jahre) haben 3 Wochen im August 2009 im pink gate cottage verbracht. Da wir teilweise doch sehr regnerische Tage hatten, haben wir die Großzügigkeit, Gemütlichkeit, ausgezeichnete Ausstattung und Sauberkeit des Hauses sehr genossen. Die Umgebung ist traumhaft und wir haben immer wieder neue Orte entdeckt, die uns begeistert haben. Malerische Strände mit tollen Wellen .....Wasser- und Lufttemperaturen jedoch recht "frisch".
Doris und Tim, vielen Dank das wir unseren Urlaub in Eurem wunderschönen pink gate cottage verbringen und Euch kennen lernen durften! Irgendwann werden wir bestimmt wiederkommen.
