Cooper Landing Chalet Rental Photos and Description

Bright, Clean 4+BR/3.5BA Mountain Home Is Perfect For Families And Large Groups

When we get to host you here in Cooper Landing, we make it a full-service experience. In addition to fine, well-kept, lovely housing we also provide help with planning your trip. Advice for hiking trails, assistance booking wildlife cruises, connections to the best guides - we offer it all. We can also purchase your groceries for you and have them ready in the home upon your arrival. We'd love to help make this a great trip in whatever way we can - please reach out to us, even if you are not staying in our home!

No other rental home in the area can offer you the same level of privacy and flexibility for traveling families and groups as this house can, while still providing clean, fresh, bright accommodations.

This newer home welcomes you into the living and dining area with floor to ceiling windows and an expansive mountain view. The large deck overlooks the large, forest-bordered lawn, while the creek gurgles and bubbles nearby. Enjoy your daily salmon catch on the outdoor barbeque grill, and gather for the evening around the huge outdoor fire pit.

Your daytime hours will be comfortable and warm inside, with leather furniture, stainless steel appliances in the main kitchen, beautiful tongue and groove wood throughout, a full laundry, and pleasant amenities to make you feel at home: games, toys for the kids, nice linens and towels, and a welcome basket from your local hosts. As a special bonus, this home features a light and bright walk-out basement level which is set up as a complete 1 BR/1 BA apartment, with a separate kitchen, living room, and dining room. Your group can stay in this space happily together and still enjoy privacy and seclusion when needed.

At night, settle into the five beautifully appointed bedrooms. Upstairs there is a bedroom with a queen bed and a baby crib, a second bedroom with twin bunk beds (a twin mattress or a quality queen-sized air mattress available for the floor with prior arrangement), and a third room just for the little ones, featuring a wall of toy shelves (a child's paradise!) and floor space for twin air mattresses. This upstairs level has a full bathroom with a bathtub.

The main level of the home, in addition to the laundry, kitchen, dining, and living rooms, has a convenient half-bath, an enclosed porch, and the master suite. The master bedroom features a queen-sized bed, and the ensuite bathroom has a shower.

The lower level of the house is a walk-out basement apartment, with large front-facing windows, its own living room, dining room, and kitchen. On this level there is a bathroom with shower and a bedroom with a queen-sized bed and an extra-long single bed.

Your hosts are local residents with decades of experience recreating on the Kenai Peninsula. We've hiked every trail, explored every tourism company, and we would love to share our local knowledge with you. We can help connect you with the best itinerary for your travels, assisting you with bookings, directions, maps, advice. Please, let us help you plan the vacation of a lifetime.

About Jessica Larsen

From the Owner: We used to come to the Kenai Peninsula from our home north of Anchorage and rent other vacation homes, but we loved our experiences down here so much that we finally decided to buy our own vacation chalet. After many years of having just our family and friends stay, we've decided to open it up to you and your family so that you can love and know Cooper Landing and the Kenai Peninsula as much as we do. It's our place to escape from the hustle and bustle of our careers and life in the city. We love fishing, hiking, and wildlife viewing. We are Alaskans through and through.

From the manager: My name is Jessica. My family has lived in Cooper Landing for three years, but have recreated here for decades. We manage only a few homes so we can give them each a personal touch and the attention they and their guests deserve. We would love to host you!

Jessica Larsen purchased this chalet in 2009

Why Jessica Larsen chose Cooper Landing

From the owner: This home was built by an owner-builder who took care to make it warm, lovely, high-quality and welcoming. When he decided to sell, we were happy to call it our own. The large windows, gorgeous mountains, expansive lawn, encircling forest, nearby creek, and flexible floor plan have been a dream come true. We have wonderful family memories here, in the peace and quiet, in a beautiful town the local chamber calls 'The Gem of the Kenai Peninsula - an Emerald in the Summer, a Diamond in the Winter'. Cooper Landing is truly one of the most beautiful locations in Alaska, with the stunning turquoise Kenai River running through, the National Forest nestling up to the majestic mountains. You should learn to call this place 'home', too!

From the manager: Offering this home to you is very exciting because it feels such a needed niche in the Cooper Landing vacation rental market - it is so spacious and flexible in its sleeping and living arrangements, easily accommodating families and large groups. It's a high-quality home with a warm feel, perfect for a relaxing vacation.

What makes this chalet unique

We were immediately impressed with the large fire pit in the spacious yard - it has been the site of incredible gatherings of family and friends. The whole house feels open and warm, convenient but out of the way. We keep binoculars in the living room for spotting wildlife on the surrounding mountains. We enjoy lazy evenings on the deck listening to the creek go by. We can have guests and have as much privacy or togetherness as we need in the 3000 square feet of space, with plenty of place to sleep, bathe, gather, and even cook and eat.

Amazing

  • 5 of 5
Our family of 7 stayed here for three nights- Very spacious, clean and a truly lovely home.
The home was well stocked with paper products, laundry detergent, dish detergent, and shampoo. Very clean--- our 10 month old granddaugher loved crawling around the home!
Our granddaughter became ill during our stay. We contacted the home manager for information on a pharmacy in the area. The pharmacy was a good distance away. The manager came to the property within a very short time with over the counter medication and medical supplies from his home. Way beyond the call of duty! It was a great location for our trip to Seward. We highly recommend this home.

PERFECT. Simply, PERFECT is the only description needed

  • 5 of 5
From the moment I contacted Jessica to the day of departure, I could not come up with another word to describe anything about this property and it's owners other than PERFECT. I happened upon this property while searching for a place to stay for 6 of us while visiting Alaska. This location seemed appropriate. I contacted the owner. She was just so receptive, so pleasant, so accommodating. I ended up booking the property. AFTER it was booked and deposit made Jessica continued to help me with our trip planning. Her husband is a concierge and will book side trips on guests behalf (no costs to guest). So for the next....gosh must have been MONTHS, I bombarded Jessica and Courtney with all sorts of questions.
Anyway.....besides the owners being super fantastic. The house was such a pleasant surprise. I originally told Jessica not to hurry with the cleaning before our arrival as we would most certainly be LATE. How things change...we ended up much earlier than I told Jessica and she still greeted us with huge SMILES and a wonderful WELCOME! The house is fully equipped. Top notch appliances. Washer and dryer, dishwasher, coffee maker...this is NOT A COTTAGE...this is a HOME. So EVERYTHING is there.
The views from the deck and living room are outstanding.
It rained most of our stay but we still had a great time. It's not far to the local grocery, not like you'd think, so no worries there. (Large grocery about 50 minutes away, nice animal viewing ride to grocery...small convenience stores, around corner)
The beds were comfy. The furniture was all excellent quality and sturdy. Water pressure fine, hot water fine. the layout of the house was fantastic. I could do laundry in the entry without disturbing others.
Everything was spotlessly clean. The yard was nice (with the rain we didn't enjoy the fire pit but it would have been nice).
It was very quiet, even though you are in kind of a development, and down the road from the Princess Lodge... you don't realize it. It is not secluded (unless your from NYC) but it is private and PERFECT. It's not ON the River and a downhill walk to the library and swimming hole (uphill back)..so to use the river, you have to drive.
The neighborhood dog, we nicknamed OREO visited us everytime the grill was on....he's friendly and loves attention! (CHARCOAL GRILL). We were pleasantly surprised to find the prior renters left fresh caught Salmon in the freezer for the next guests (us) YUM

Party of 10

  • 5 of 5
We recently stayed at this fantastic rental in Cooper Landing. Jessica was so great to work with before we even arrived. She made renting so easy and even took the time to give me more information and pictures on the property. We had a large group of 10 family members. Jessica had the house ready for us with extra beds set up. The house is beautifully decorated with very homey touches. We had a wonderful time and were actually sad to leave, we were enjoying so much. It was great to have a full kitchen, washer and dryer. We made dinners and were able to keep up on our laundry. I highly recommend this property. It is very family friendly and a great location.

Great House!

  • 5 of 5
We have rented houses in Maine, Scotland, and France, and this house is one at the top of the list, along with the complex we rented in France. Jessica, the manager, has done an excellent job to maintain a family-friendly, clean and comfortable environment. The house is well equipped from the utensils in the kitchen to the sleeping arrangements to fit a family's needs. The location too is convenient. Most everything in which we wanted to participate in was within 50 miles of the house: Seward and the Exit Glacier and Harding Ice Field for hiking, the Russian falls for salmon, Clam Gulch outside of Kenai for clamming, and so forth. We made a good choice with the location of this house.
We stayed at the house for two weeks. We are a family with children and grandchildren, so the house was almost perfect for everyone. The kids played soccer in the back yard and made somores in the fire pit, and we played cards at night in the dining room. There was always something to do.
Also, we ordered food one night from Sackett's restaurant. The place doesn't look like much, but the food is wonderful--a good choice.
If you want to stay in a family oriented house, take a good look at this rental in Cooper's Landing. Jessica is an excellent manager, and the house is one of the best. One thing we liked was that the house was devoid of possessions of the owner. It was streamlined for cleanliness and comfort. The description of the house is what you can expect. We
felt like this was our house for the time we were staying there. Your stay will be comfortable and hopefully fun. We would rent this house again if we vacation again in Alaska, and the Kenai Peninsula is an exciting place to explore. You can't go wrong.

Absolutely Awesome

  • 5 of 5
The property was exactly as depicted in the photos. Everything was in great condition. The kitchen was completely stocked with dishes, utensils and cookware. The bathrooms were especially clean. We were a family of eight, five adults and three children. There were many games for the kids and adults. The location was perfect for day excursions to Girdwood, Seward and Whittier. Jessica and Courtney were the best. Jessica addressed the few questions that we had and even brought us fresh baked bread. Courtney was a tremendous help booking our day cruise, which was fantastic, and showing us a hiking route to a beautiful waterfall. The lower level was perfect for my brother and sister-in-law. The kids even when down for movie night because there was a nice popcorn machine in their kitchen. I will definitely recommend this property to friends. It was completely secure and maintained very well.
