Florida native now retired. I spend a great deal of time in Key West on my yacht pursuing sailing to the out islands, fishing and enjoying the charm of Key West.
Belinda Nowling purchased this yacht in 2007
This is one of the most fabulous yachts in Key West with protected waters in a marina giving access to the Gulf and the Atlantic with the closest reef only 15 minutes south by boat. I love sailing to the out islands of Boca Chica a, the Marquesa Keys and the Dry Tortugas. The combination of a significant military presence and the safety of a United States City in the Caribbean with close access to reefs and with a day’s sail of the Tortugas make this the ideal vacation experience. It is the gateway to the tropics with the convenience of living in the USA.
The real charm of staying on the Dancing Girls is to go cruising to the out islands. We generally make passage to Boca Grande and the Marquesas Keys or to the Dry Tortugas (Fort Jefferson) for longer charters. A trip like this is the experience of a lifetime and a great way to experience the best part of the keys.
We have a family of 6 including two young adults and two young children. Dancing Girls had plenty of room to accommodate us and we even had a spare cabin. This yacht is very well equipped and maintained and was beyond our expectations. For some time, I've been "discussing" with my wife the idea of temporarily living on a yacht like this and i think this sealed the deal. After staying aboard for 4 nights she said, "I could do this". Yes! The yacht club is very nice and Dancing Girls is located in a perfect spot for us. In a quiet out for the way corner of the club with easy access to the Tiki Hut where we would watch the sunrise. The yacht club is a very short drive to Key West where we had a great time scuba diving, going to the beach, and enjoying the great restaurants. We loved our Key West adventure and would definitely look to stay on Dancing Girls again when we return.
Family of 6 with teen and young adult children. Plenty of room. The club was great with very clean restrooms and very helpful staff. Close to key west and the marina grounds were great. The boat was well supplied and loved sitting on the deck watching the sun come up. XMAS morning on the bow with all the kids was fantastic. Kevin was very helpful and loved the experience. We are boat people and would not recommend it if you don't like boat. Would recommend the experience on dancing girls as excellent.
We enjoyed Dancing Girls as our 'hotel' while visiting Key West. It was so fun and perfectly functional. We had 4 adults and 2 children which fit nicely in the 4 en suite staterooms. The Catamaran was spacious to allow us to spread out and fit comfortably in the Galley and on the decks. The kitchen is stocked with all you need for cooking, even an espresso machine. We loved having the grill on the back deck for cook outs and dining al fresco. The kids (ages 7 & 8) thought staying on a boat was an awesome adventure!
George and Brenda were so helpful and accommodating with the reservation and during our stay. George met us at check in to help us become familiar with the boat which was super helpful. We very much enjoyed meeting George and learning about the features of his beautiful catamaran! The Marina is very nice and well maintained. The kids loved the pool! We enjoyed having the bath house at the Tiki Hut. The showers have open air space below the roof so it's much like an outdoor shower. There is also a nice locker room with showers at the club house. George was nice enough to let us use his beach cruiser bikes which were great for getting around the Marina.
We drove or took a cab into town which takes about 15 minutes. We had a lot of fun on Duval St and in town but also valued having the boat as our home base away from the crowds and noise.
We LOVED our trip to KW and staying on Dancing Girls was the BEST part!! My husband was very impressed with the technology and equipment and definitely wants to visit Dancing Girls again but this time for a chartered sail! We hope to return next year! Thanks George for letting us enjoy Dancing Girls!
