Our house has recently been built, its a two bedroom with bouble bed, single bed and there is an inflatable queen size mattress if needed. There is a bathroom with hot tub, living room, dinning room, kitchen and laundry room. All rooms are equiped and ready to use.
You can have access to satellite tv and internet use in the house. All windows on the back side of the house have a mountain view, so since you wake up and until night, you can take a look out the window or go out on the porch to enjoy the beautiful nature view.
The house name comes from a special characteristic that the main bedroom has, there is a star shape on the ceiling of the bedroom. The other different thing the house has, is a dimond shape on the living room ceiling with special lighting wich allows us to create different environments.
The house has wooden floors and big windows that will always keep you in touch with the outside.
Driving a little bit up hill from the main road you will reach your private destination. The house has forest all around and you will enjoy taking a short walk in the mornings around the property to go bird watching and sometimes see wild animals passing by. If you want to have a closer look at a 'tico' family and farm, you can come and visit our small milking farm and learn how to milk by hand. You can feed the chikens and see local art making by one of our mothers and have a costarican lunch, or why not help prepare it as well!
To go to town its about a 10 minute drive (3km) were you can find restaurants, shops, spas and other interesting things.
So dont miss the opportunity to come and enjoy Monteverde and stay in a place that can be like home.
We have two different backrounds, Adalberto grew up in the community of Cañitas and Zabrina grew up in the quaker cummunity in Monteverde center. He works in a state bank (Banco de Costa Rica) and is finishing his studies in administration. She works as a nanny and is studying public health administration. We both like dancing, short trips, movie watching and cultural exchanges.
Zabrina Rockwell purchased this house in 2012
The property where the house is located is owned by Adalberto`s father, who gave him land to build the house. So it means a lot to him, it is where he grew up and is still family connected.
It`s land passed on by generatios and it has a nice mountain view. After lunch and all through the afternoon the sun shines right in the house and at night you can enjoy the clear sky full of stars and it`s even better when it`s full moon.
This was a excellent place to stay... I stayed two nights and
wish I would have stayed more. Owners went out of there way
even coming into town to get me when I first got there and showed me around town. Definately recommended!!!!!!
Lovely home! A very unique, cultural experience. Our host was great! She gave us tons of info on what to do, where to eat etc... we had a great time!
A super nice, clean house with specially-made architecture, including ceilings that are carved in different shapes. The design is very retro and modern, and outside, you're surrounded by beautiful forest, pastures, and farms. The house includes a patio that you can get to via slide door and has the most spectacular view, especially during sunset and sunrise. Perfect for bird-watchers who want to see tons of birds, including toucans, guans, manikins, robins, hummingbirds, etc... The town is filled with great coffee/chocolate farms and tours that are very close, and there's a small, delicious cafe just minutes away on foot. The nearby town Santa Elena is about 15-20 min by car or 30-45 min on foot. The owner is super friendly and helpful. I would recommend visiting everywhere possible near the house because this is a cool town. Everywhere there's very friendly people and awesome places. I would definitely recommend to everyone I know!!
A very PURA VIDA experience.
The owners are extremely nice and it is worth coming already only to get to know them... The house is small but practical and the owners are flexible - we needed to adjust it for my parents, two children, one baby, my wife and myself, we moved with the owners one bed, inflated a mattress and it was just about ideal. The view is awesome and a window seating in the main bedroom is just great. Ideal for nature lovers (three nature reserves very close), adrenalin lovers (several great ziplines nearby) as well as for coffee / chocolate / sugar lovers (several farms nearby)... I can recommend it to just about anybody (if you need to reach by car, you need a 4 wheel drive)

Monteverde is well known for its biodiversity and friendliness with nature, therefore many of the activities you will enjoy are connected to nature. You can enjoy zip linning, walkways, bungee jumping, reserve tours, butterfly garden, night walks, insect museum, frog pond, serpentarium, horseback ridding, among many other attractions and adventure tours. We can always recommend and book the right tours according to your budget and likes.
