What sets this home apart from others on the lake is the privacy. The home is located on a corner lot and abuts a small greenbelt which means there is only a neighbor on one side. The patio/firepit area is set back from the lake and provides excellent privacy. The landscape lighting and firepit create a romantic and soothing ambiance as the sun sets behind the Santa Rosa Mtns. Cocktail hour takes on a whole new meaning! The desert plantings also afford additional privacy from surrounding homes and boaters.
The floor plan is ideal as the Master Suite, Guest Suite, and additional 2 bedrooms are nicely separated. While the bedrooms allow sleeping for 8 persons, the additional private den has a sofa bed which can accommodate 2 people. (Sleeps 8-10). Each bedroom as well as the den is equipped with a HD flat screen TV with premium cable.
The Kitchen/Great room is very well appointed and is an ideal gathering place. The kitchen has a eat up bar with four stools, ample high grade cookware, flatware, dinnerware etc.., double oven, microwave, and gas cook-top. You will find most everything you need to cook up a feast.
The great room is where we spend most of our time as it boasts a large sectional sofa, 60' LED flat screen, and plenty of books/board games for those relaxing evenings. The living room is another great comfortable gathering spot with a gas fireplace and ample seating for entertaining. The LR, kitchen, pool area, and Master Suite all have in-ceiling speakers and separate volume. controls.
The spa-like pool area has an in ground spa which spills over into the vanishing edge pool. There are ample chaise lounges, outdoor dining table, fire pit seating, and sectional outdoor couch.
There is a separate laundry room off the 3 large garage.
My wife and I were born and raised in the Bay Area (East bay and Marin) and recently moved our family to Santa Barbara to enjoy the beach lifestyle. I graduated from UCSB and my wife form Cal. We have raised our 2 children in Marin county until relocating to Santa Barbara in 2010.
Greg Merrill purchased this house in 2013
Over the last 17 years we have always vacationed in La Quinta at least once a year and often times more frequently. We have stayed at the LQ Resort and also rented homes in many of the other communities ranging from Rancho LA Quinta, to Legacy VIllas. However, it was not until a friend invited us to their home in Lake La Quinta that we discovered this special spot. We had never seriously considered buying a home in the desert until we experienced the lifestyle at lake La Quinta first hand. It is truly intoxicating and hooked us immediately. There is nothing more enjoyable than sitting in the spa sipping a glass of wine watching the sun reflect and the colors morph against the Chocolate Mountain range.
We are of course biased...However, for us, lake La Quinta is the ultimate community in the ultimate desert town. We have always understood why La Quinta is named the 'Gem of the Desert' and for us, Lake la Quinta is 'The Gem' of all of La Quinta.
Besides the private ammenities at the home, Lake La Quinta also has a professional grade lighted tennis court, community pool, parks, and community gathering area for parties, and 24 hour security and gated access.
It's hard to decide where to begin. We had such an amazing time here. The location is perfect, the home is cozy, the pool/spa are wonderful, and you couldn't ask for better owners. It doesn't matter what you are looking for because this home has it. We originally had 4 couples going for a NYE getaway from LA. It ended up being just 4 of us mostly for the entire stay and it turned out to be one of the best vacations we have ever taken. The home is large and spacious but someone it still manages to feel cozy and warm. The infinity pool and jacuzzi on the lake? Need I say more. It was perfect! We heated the pool and spa a few times and had wonderful evenings laughing and drinking by the pool looking out over lake la Quinta.
As for location, you couldn't be situated in a better place. You are 5 mins from everything. Coffee, Costco, markets, restaurants, shops, and even the 99 cents store.
The only issue we had with this place was that we had to leave. My friends and I could have stayed there for months. We will definitely be back. Thank you for the great memories.
Loved our stay in this beautiful home. It was my husband and I and our 7 year old daughter who absolutely lived in the pool. The property was gorgeous and spotless when we arrived and fully equipped with everything we could possibly need. The lake was beautiful and we loved the pontoon boat for late afternoon boat cruises and happy hour. The house is in a great location, close to everything and secure in a gorgeous complex. We did the Living Desert as our only tourist type day trip and spent every other day pool side. Owners were excellent to deal with, accessible when ever needed and very accommodating with any requests. Would not hesitate to give this vacation rental the best rating, as we have pretty high standards for the most part. Thanks again for sharing your beautiful home with us, wouldn't hesitate to rent it again or recommend it to anyone we know.
My daughter and I stayed in this beautiful home for a week to celebrate her 30th birthday. The house was spotless, very comfortable and well equipped. We enjoyed the heated pool and spa almost every day. What a treat to sit in the spa and watch the birds on the lake! The community is very friendly, safe and quiet. My daughter has many food allergies and we cooked often in the great kitchen. We had forgotten a few spices and were pleased to find them in the pantry. We loved all of the shopping nearby and the short drive to the outlet stores. We booked this reservation at the last minute, and the homeowner was extremely accommodating. We visit the Palm Springs area at least twice a year, and we will definitely return to this lovely home again and again.
Took my kids down to La Quinta for the weekend and had a great time! This house was very comfortable and clean! Close to everything and the pool was a lot of fun. Spent most of our time just relaxing in the back yard. The owners are very accommodating and we had no problems. The boat on the lake was a blast for the kids!
This was a great stay! My company rented this property for some of our staff members to reside in while working in the area, and it was a great find. The Lake La Quinta community was great, and not difficult to accommodate us at all. The property was wonderful, it was great that it had 4 beds, the ability to have more of our staff in one house made things very convenient for us. The homeowner has been great to work with, and we look forward to hopefully returning in the future!
What a beautiful house and neighborhood! This house is in a great location with a wonderful view of the lake. I loved the lovely decor and feel of this house, and the owners were so accommodating and helpful! I would absolutely recommend renting this house if you are in the area.
