We have traveled (and rented condos) pretty extensively, with 15+ years summering in different locations in Colorado. Renting was always a challenge, so we bought what we always wanted to rent: super convenient location, walk to lifts, covered, assigned parking, family conveniences like in-unit washer/dryer, dining table (vs. just bar), room to spread out and be able to relax.

Aspen Music Festival
June 18 - August 17
The Aspen Music Festival and School’s sixty-fifth anniversary season theme will be The New Romantics, which will explore the resurgence of Romantic imagination in music of the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries. The Romantic Movement that began in the eighteenth century and dominated the arts in the nineteenth century has evolved and maintained a powerful place in the last forty years among composers, writers, visual artists, choreographers, and architects in all their endeavors. Inspired by the theme, we will examine the music of John Adams, Christopher Theofanidis, Steven Stucky, Adam Schoenberg, Oliver Knussen, Kaija Saariaho, Michael Torke, Frank Martin, Lowell Liebermann, John Corigliano, Jonathan Leshnoff, Stephen Hartke, David Dzubay, Brett Dean, Mark-Anthony Turnage, Osvaldo Golijov, Bill Frisell, and Jennifer Higdon.
The Aspen Opera Theater Center will produce Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin, Lowell Liebermann's The Picture of Dorian Gray, and Bizet’s Carmen.
Summer 2014 will also include a wide array of standard orchestral repertoire, including music of Beethoven, Debussy, Dvorak, Berlioz, Janacek, Mendelssohn, Prokofiev, Rachmaninoff, Ravel, Schubert, Schumann, Stravinsky, Wagner, Weber, and Tchaikovsky with a major focus on the music of Richard Strauss on the occasion of his 150th anniversary. Another hallmark of the Festival has been a wide variety of lectures and enrichment events, as well as collaborations with organizations such as the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, the Aspen Institute, Jazz Aspen Snowmass, the Aspen Art Museum, and the Anderson Ranch Arts Center. Baroque music has elicited a tremendously positive reaction in recent years, so another evening of Baroque music will once again feature guest artists and artist-faculty and Aspen Music School students.
