Great location and place

This is a great location and place.
Location: 15 minutes drive to the Brauneck ski resort which is a great under-noticed mountain (minimal crowds). 10 minutes walk down to the village with lots of nice shops and restaurants. 1 hour drive north to Munich and the sites (Christkindl markts, open air markets).
Place: 2 bedroom 2 bath, slept 5 comfortably. Full kitchen good for cooking meals. Very warm and comfortable. TV (but all the channels are in German except for MTV!)
Advice for Americans visiting: Get euros from online currency exchange - credit cards do not always work. Plan on about $100/day expenditure. Use credit card to the extent possible; you'll get the best exchange rate. Aldi and Lidl are good stores for groceries, try lots of the local fare. Cook a few meals for a a low cost alternative to eating out. Bring a GPS to navigate, but get the German map software. Also, bring a transformer for any appliances like phone chargers and computers. You can tie into internet at McDonalds, but there is an access charge. Unless you have a GSM phone, you'll need to coordinate a world phone through your cell phone provider. Rent a minivan for best value and space (for skis). Rent skis at the local sports shop for several days at a reasonable cost; bring your gloves, hats, and goggles or else you'll have to but them there.

Indeed Lenggries is an all-round location and this not only in winter. In summer you can go on long or short distance hiking tours, refresh yourself in the clean rivers and lakes (Isar and Jachen, Walchensee and Sylvensteinsee) or take our bikes (House Winkler offers four bikes free of charge) for a ride.
To relax you have a spacious outside area with a garden all on your own including two terraces and a fire-place; last not least to mention the sauna in the basement.
