Cal Carreter is a large, comfortable family farmhouse situated near a beautiful medieval hamlet, in the sought after area inland of the Costa Brava. The stone built masia is ideal for young families as it is cool inside and the large secluded garden (3000m2)has plenty of shaded areas. The swimming pool has a secure fence around it. The property offers a peaceful haven after a busy day on the Costa Brava beaches which are within a 20 km radius. There are 11 golf courses within an hour of the house. There are many walks from the hamlet of Millas. The wild bird life is very active with nightingales, bee-eaters and golden oriols. The area also offers cultural interests such as the Dali Museums and the Romanesque Architecture of Gerona and its province. The vegetable garden and the barbq make cooking and eating a delicious and fun activity in the Summer so that more time can be spent relaxing. Gerona airport is only 30 minutes away.

The Veinat de Millas is a tiny hamlet within the Gerona province, in the Catalan countryside. This area, known as the Baix Emporda is particularly attractive to visitors due not only to its inherent beauty but also to the diversity of its attractions - being only 20 kilometres from the beautiful coves of the Costa Brava and a similar distance from the city of Gerona. Barcelona and all that it offers, is well connected by motorway and hourly trains and is approximately one and a half hours away.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Bed and Breakfast rates available on request from September to July. Full board and weekly rates also available
  • Payment:
    50 % of the total rent will be paid on booking and the remaining 50% 6 weeks before the start of the rental period. There will be a 300€ deposit to pay before the renting period. This will cover any breakages or expenses incurred during the renting. The expenses are electricity, gas, water, oil and telephone.

Perfect for a family holiday

What a beautilful place. The farmhouse had such character to it and had everything we needed - space, character, peace & quiet. Twelve of us went (adults & children) and it still felt really spacious. Great to have a self-catering place with plenty of crockery, glasses, cutlery especially for such a large group. Outside was so pretty, good size garden, great for children to run around, fenced off pool which is so reassuring when you have little ones. It had a vegetable/fruit garden and we were welcome to help ourselves which was great. Surrounding the gardens is sunflower fields which is just stunning. There are lovely beaches near by and quaint villages to visit and eat. I must also mention Melissa, the owner of the property, she made us very welcome and thought she was such a lovely lady. Overall a great place to go and would certainly go again. The photos on this website don't do it justice!
