Brief Description: This lovely three-plus bedroom log home is nestled in a very private location in the foothills east of Bozeman and the Bridger Mountain Range. It offers pastoral mountain views from the house and deck. With its secluded location, it's a wonderful spot for a retreat for family and/or friends. The Grassy Mountain Lodge sits on nineteen acres in a very quiet, secluded hillside location between Bozeman and Livingston. Views are of hillside meadows and pine covered mountain slopes.
General location: Nestled in the hills between Bozeman and Livingston, about twenty-five miles from downtown Bozeman.
Size of the home: About 2500 square feet inside with large decks on the front and back of the house.
Bedrooms and bathrooms: The home has three bedrooms, three baths and extra sleeping space in the large family room. The master bedroom has a gorgeous log king size bed, walk-in closet and private bath with double sinks. The second bedroom has two twin beds - also beautiful log frames. Its bath is across the hallway and features a beautiful tile-topped Victorian stand for the sink and a walk in sauna! The third bedroom, on the garden level off the family room, has another king bed. The bath has a shower and tub. There is additional sleeping space on a fold out couch in the den, described below.
Kitchen/Dining: The kitchen opens to the dining area and has an electric stove, a dishwasher and a microwave. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you'll need. The dining room, with a deer antler chandelier and lovely log furniture, seats eight comfortably.
Living room: The cozy living room has a corner river rock fireplace and sliding glass doors to the deck overlooking a pretty mountain hillside. The furnishings are a combination of leather and log pieces - very tasteful, as well as comfortable. The flooring in both the dining and living room is pine. On the lower level of the home there is also a big family room with thick berber carpet, a pellet stove for chilly days, and a very nice pull-out couch. There is a television and a VCR, with a few movies as well, for guests to use. In addition, the collection of games plus a nice collection of area books will add to the evening entertainment possibilities.
Outdoor amenities: Two large decks are nicely equipped with a porch swing, a picnic table and porch furniture and gas barbecue grill. Bird and wildlife watching opportunities abound. In addition, there are backpacks, picnic supplies, binoculars and a cooler available for day trips around the area.
Services available: An end of stay cleaning is complimentary, as well as weekly cleaning for longer stays. Additional housekeeping, as well as catering service, can be arranged with a bit of prior notice.
Activities nearby: Hiking, fishing, horseback riding, white-water rafting are all nearby plus all that Bozeman has to offer. In winter, enjoy the best cross-country and downhill skiing just minutes away at Bridger Bowl and Bohart Cross Country Ski Ranch. There's so much to do!
Distance to town: About twenty-four miles (about a half hour drive) to Bozeman's Main Street. Bozeman's Gallatin Field is about a forty minute drive away.
Services available: The rental rate includes an end of stay cleaning. For guests who stay two weeks or more, a weekly cleaning will be done. Additional housekeeping, as well as catering service and grocery shopping can be arranged with a bit of prior notice.
Other details: The home has a full laundry room, and a great mud room with storage for gear. There is a first aid kit in the laundry room. No smoking is allowed in the home. No pets are allowed on the property or in the home. There is a private phone. All Mountain Home properties have fully equipped kitchens, and include good quality kitchen, bath and bed linens, and staples like paper goods, laundry, dish and hand soaps.
