A SECLUDED MOUNTAIN PARADISE

Golden Cabin Rental Photos and Description

A Two Bedroom Cabin Nestled Between The Purcell Mountains And Blaeberry River

The River House is a completely secluded cabin nestled between the Purcell Mountains and the Blaeberry River.

The River House is a two bedroom cabin, which sleeps 4 adults and 2 children. It has a full kitchen, fireplace, t.v., blue-ray, internet and laundry facilities.

The River House is located on 8 acres of wooded land and is the only rental cabin on the property. You can wake up every morning and while eating breakfast watch a pair of bald eagles fish from the Blaeberry River. In the evenings watch a herd of elk drink from the river all while never having to leave the comfort of the River House.

New to the River House for spring will be a hot tub and internet.

The River House boasts peace and quiet, but for those that are looking for adventure, the House also includes the use of the 'shed'. In the shed there is a place to store and clean your equipment, which includes skis, bikes, sleds, ATVs, and all other equipment you may bring with you.

We are a couple who work in Calgary but play in Golden. Golden is a short commute from Calgary and this property allows us to enjoy everything the mountains have to offer.

In the winter we can go skiing at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, or strap on our cross country skis and headed out for a day of touring from the deck. The road makes a good tobogganing hill which has seen family spend many hours.

In the summer we can drive up the road 7km for a beautiful day hike to a gorgeous waterfall. Or we can grab our fishing rods and step off the deck into the Blaeberry River.

Grant and Antoinette purchased this cabin in 2013

This property was purchased because it is a location where we can play all year round. We love the fact that this cabin is the only rental cabin on the property and we are surrounded by 8 acres of wooded seclusion. This allows us to get away from the hustle and bustle of Calgary, AB and enjoy the peace and quiet of the Canadian Rocky Mountains.

We love to sit on the deck in the evenings with friends/family and listen to the Blaeberry River or in the mornings drink a cup of coffee and watch the sun light up the beautiful Purcell mountains just outside the door step.

The best part of this property is that it allows us and everyone who stays with us to enjoy the complete seclusion of the Mountains, and yet is so close to all the mountain adventures that Golden has to offer. It truly is a place to get away from it all!

Amazing cabin, breathtaking views.

  • 5 of 5
We stayed here for four nights and absolutely loved our stay. The cabin is really nicely decorated with a really well appointed kitchen, bathroom and utility room. The bedrooms are a great size with storage space. The living space was fab with the most wonderful views of the rockey mountains and the beautiful river which is at the bottom of the garden. There was wonderful wildlife to view including humming birds and a black bear (at a safe distance!) You feel like you are in the middle of nowhere but just a short ride away are great activities including a wolf sanctuary and a buffalo tour both of which we would highly recommend. Grant and Antoinette were really helpful whilst completely respecting our privacy. Would highly recommend and would love to stay again sometime. Thank you both.

Great place to stay

  • 5 of 5
My family used the riverhouse as the base camp for Banff/Lake Louise tour. It was quiet/untouched unlike Banff area. We needed uncommercialized area where 3 yr and 6 yr can play and parents can rest. There are lots of activities you/family can do around the riverhouse. Great place to enjoy Rockies with much less crowd. Owners were very helpful with any requests.

Simple, calm and awesome!

  • 5 of 5
Hi! We stayed at this estate for 2 days and truly enjoyed the peaceful location by the river. Very spectacular view of the mountains in close proximity. We used the large shed for storing our pick-up truck and snowmobiles which has been awesome as it snowed overnight and we did not have to worry about clearing snow off our equipment. I consider the value to price ratio very high and again a very quiet location without being too far from Golden. Much appreciated the stay and definitely recommends!

The RiverHouse - A quiet little hidden paradise

  • 5 of 5
The RiverHouse is a great little place to enjoy a ski getaway in a quiet nice cabin. The cabin has all necessary amenities as well as fun little games (board games like monopoly as well as an Original Xbox) & movies for you to enjoy. We rented this great cabin at a very reasonable price. We were located only 15-20 minutes from the town of Golden, about 35min from Kicking Horse, and 1h45min from Revelstoke. This allowed us to enjoy skiing in Kicking Horse and Revelstoke as well as spend New Year evening in Golden. Snowmobilers also have a large safe storage very as they have a very large shed/shop located on the lot. We stored the truck in the fully secured shop and I would say there was room for at least 6 snowmobiles as well as our large truck. I highly recommend this great cabin for any getaway you could want in the mountains.

As well the Thompson Falls area is a 2 minute drive away from the River House which boasts beautiful water falls and sledding areas. The possibilities of activities is endless for this area, all you need is a little imagination and adventure.

If you are looking for peace and quite, the River House is a secluded location, perfect for artists, wildlife watchers, or someone who just wants to get away from it all.
