Ouray House Rental Photos and Description
4 Bedroom, 3 Bathroom, 11 Sleeps
This spacious mountain retreat is located just 3 miles south of Ouray, off of the historic Camp Bird Road. The drive from town is normally only about 15 minutes.
Hayden Mountain Chalet has 4 bedrooms. The large master is on the top floor, and has a king bed, satellite TV, and private bath with a deep tub (with views!) and walk-in shower. The library loft is also on this floor, and has a daybed with trundle that is ideal for kids and teens.
The main floor of the house has two beautiful bedrooms, one with a California king and the other with a queen. There is a full bath off of the hallway on this floor as well.
The lower level has its own full bath, and a large bedroom with two double beds and a twin that is nice for families or singles, or to provide the children in your party with their own place to sleep and hang out.
Showcased in the great room is a magnificent fieldstone fireplace surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows. A table for 4 nestled in the corner of the room provides a cozy place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee while gazing at the breathtakingly beautiful views and pondering possible activities for the day.
A well-equipped kitchen and large dining table with seating for 6 or more will accommodate large groups very well, coupled with the additional seating in the great room.
A laundry room with high-end washer and dryer is located on the ground entrance.
Hayden Mountain Chalet is a great home for a large family gathering, a small retreat or group workshop, or just a romantic getaway!
The Hayden Chalet is unavailable during much of the winter. Please inquire about winter availability.

ABOUT THE AREA: You will want to spend several days in beautiful Ouray County. Ouray, which is known as the "Switzerland of America," is nestled in a small valley with 360-degree views of 12,000-14,000 mountains. Ridgway, nicknamed the "Gateway to the San Juans," is just 10 miles from Ouray and is well-known as the place where the John Wayne movie "True Grit" was filmed. Many of the movie set's buildings are still used today by local businesses. These two historic towns offer a variety of activities: restaurants, shops, museums, galleries, hot springs pools, jeep rentals, hiking, fishing and boating -- the list goes on and on! Day trips to Silverton, Telluride and Durango are fun as well.
Ouray is also often called "The Jeeping Capital of the World" because of its many trails through the high country (rated easy to rugged), popular for 2-wheel and 4-wheel off road vehicles.
Golf is available at beautiful Divide Ranch Golf Club located on Log Hill Mesa just above Ridgway, offering panoramic mountain views. Telluride and Montrose also have golf courses.
Ouray and Ridgway both offer local markets, and you can find larger stores like City Market, Safeway, Target and Walmart in Montrose, a flat, easy drive 35 miles from Ouray, 25 miles from Ridgway.
No matter how long you decide to stay, you will find yourself wanting to come back again and again to Ouray County, one of the most beautiful places on earth!
