It’s location on open space is prime, yet inside you feel like you are in a sanctuary with rugs and tapestries from all over the orient, original art throughout, custom made furniture, handmade ceramic tableware made by your hostess.
This three story home hosts both dining and living, access to outside both front and back, powder room, kitchen and entry way on the main floor. The upper floor has the master bed, bath and closet, full second bathroom, office and a reading room or study, while the lower floor has W/D, 1/2 bath, second bedroom, as well as a full studio should you wish to bring your paints and brushes, the easel and your creative inspiration await.
This is a perfect home for one or two couples or individuals if you value a quiet aesthetic comfortable home within easy reach of all this area has to offer, however we do not accept more than four people resident in this home, at any time.
Should you wish to explore a fun sustainable urban lifestyle, there are bikes to be rented within an easy walk. Two blocks away, a bus line that will take you downtown if you choose not to either cycle or walk. Within the home itself the chance to compost, recycle should that appeal to you, all the while being powered by the generous Boulder sunshine.
This home has both AC, full house fan, shady back yard, outdoor eating, whole house WI-FI, high quality natural bedding and mattress, natural non chemical cleaning products used, views of the flatirons and the foothills, outdoor grill, infrared indoor sauna, upgraded everything. Reduced rates for longer stays.
We ourselves live 'shoes off' to keep the home clean and protect the rugs and maple floors. This is also our strong preference and request of our guests.

This is our primary home, but each summer we pile our golden retriever into the car and journey to a remote island up in B.C. Canada where we farm, retreat and live very simply.
That is why our Boulder home is now available on VRBO for four summer months. We are both recently retired psycho therapists, living out 'golden years' by pursuing a creative life writing, being a potter, artist, reading and spending time outdoors with our dogs, deepening friendships and visiting and being visited by children and grand.

We choose to move down from our precious house in the mountains because we wanted to spend less time driving. We valued the chance to live close to the open spaces and walking trails that Boulder has to offer, yet be close enough to walk to our local coffee shop and the best organic market in town. We outfitted the townhouse with solar panels and proceeded to modernize and upgrade all the systems. Now it provides the best of both world and is so quiet, it's hard to even sense that other people live next door. We were really wanting to live a sustainable urban life yet still be in easy access to the natural world with all it's creatures.
This became our home of choice because it's so utterly private, comfortable, sustainable and quiet. In the summer, it's shaded and cool, in the winters it's abundantly sunny warm and bright. We downsized to a home that is welcoming but not grand, aesthetic but not showy. plush but not full. Spacious but every space useable. For us, it was important to have a studio space for me as well as distinct rooms that would allow for quiet reading or writing areas.
We love the outdoor access. The open views of the front range and from the upper bedroom the flatirons. It has a good feeling of ease and peace.
My husband and I absolutely loved staying in the lovely home of Priya and Thomas; our experience was simply amazing. The look and feel of this home exceeded our VERY high expectations. The quality of this experience matched, and in many ways surpassed, some of the most exquisite, first-class vacations I’ve ever had, including stays at The Peninsula in Chicago, The Westin in Florence, Miraval Spa in Arizona and The Lumeria in Maui.
The space felt like a sanctuary where one fills their soul. And we each did indeed fill ours. We spent more time at this home base than we’ve ever done on previous getaways because we loved being in the space so much.
We loved the retreat-like experience which, among other things, included use of a beautifully equipped kitchen with its high-end appliances. And we loved cooking beautiful meals with food from the Boulder Farmer’s Market. We also enjoyed the neighborhood places that others have referenced. Very quickly, we felt like we were home.
This was our first time staying north of the Pearl Street area. We were both a little unsure of how we’d feel about this. AND, it turned out we loved being close enough to walk into town if we wanted and far enough to be outside of the fray. Ideal location for us.
My experience of dealing with Priya was perfectly delightful. She answered all of my questions professionally and kindly. Additionally, the on-site contacts were wonderful. We didn’t actually meet Cassidy in person because she was out of town during our stay, but we knew she was available to us if we needed her. Erin, Cassidy’s assistant, took excellent care of us; she showed us around the house when we arrived and offered many tips including suggestions for great hiking trails, places to food shop, and recommendations for other things we could do in Boulder.
I contacted Erin a few times during our stay and she responded timely and professionally. A couple of unexpected issues came up for us and we so appreciated how Erin (and Priya) responded. Sometimes life can toss you a surprise and we were pleased to have been met with total professionalism and fairness.
I also appreciated that Priya and Thomas encouraged us to continue with their recycling program, which we did wholeheartedly.
Truly, the perfect place for the ultimate getaway. We feel such gratitude for the opportunity to stay at this wonderful home and hope to return soon!
My husband and I based our choice of this home to stay in for the month of July on the photos. The warmth and serenity of the spaces shown are exactly as we experienced them. I had never slept on a Hypnos mattress (Oprah and the Queen of England do), it was wonderful!
It was an easy 1/4 mile walk to several very good restaurants and a local organic grocery
store. Across the street is a lovely lake with trails that can take you all over Boulder. Rocky Mountain National Park, Fort Collins, Red Rocks Amphitheater were all an easy and scenic drive away.
Thomas and Priya made our two dogs feel so welcome with treats and special bowls all their own :) Cassidy, the house manager, was very responsive. Honestly, there was not one negative in our whole experience.
I have been considering moving to Boulder and wanted to experience what it would be like to live there and was seeking a place for an extended period of time. Upon seeing the pictures of this property on VRBO, I knew immediately that this must be the place. Tastefully decorated, warm radiant colors, close to nature, serene backyard, solar-powered and a richly stocked library; it evoked an irresistible positive, intellectual, natural and spiritual energy.
This ideal home has a fully equipped office, with a reliable high speed connection, on the second floor allowed me to work as needed and the adjacent sitting room was a perfect meditation and yoga studio. If you enjoy cooking, as I do, you will not be disappointed. The modestly sized kitchen has everything you need with a Lucky’s Food Market less than a mile away to purchase all of the delicious ingredients. Lucky’s is the neighborhood equivalent of Whole Foods but better. In that same mall is a Lucky’s bakeshop with scrumptious pastries and breads and a coffee shop, providing a delightful local neighborhood feel, if you are looking for a place to hangout. I wish there were more of these and less Starbucks in every town!
As accurately described, an extensive jogging path is right out the back door which leads to the beautiful and placid Wonderland Lake and luscious wildlife sanctuary. Boulder is a hiking and biking paradise and all of it was conveniently accessible, the hardest choice was determining whether to ride or run and then what trail or bike route to choose, sometimes I could not decide, so I did both! The town recreation center is about a mile or so from the house with a lap pool and a full workout center with a minimal daily use fee, and I highly recommend it if you weight train or swim.
All of this and more can be found in the owner’s handbook, prepared by Priya Huffman, the charming and delightful owner. It is the most well-prepared guide book I have ever seen by far and it answered all my questions and allowed me to make the most of my stay. Coordinating my visit to Boulder and this lovely home was a VRBO support assistant, Ms. Casidy Murphy, who enriched my visit through her knowledge of the culture and the introduction to people I might find interesting. I wish every rental had someone like Casidy!
My two weeks in this Wonderland property was a perfect home away from home to experience Boulder. It saddened me to leave but I knew I would be back!
It is hard to find the exact words to describe this very special property, but I will try. First of all Priya and Thomas, the owners, are very discerning and tasteful in all that they have done to make this their home. They have travelled extensively to collect the art, books, rugs and furnishings to reflect their taste and aesthetic. Each room you enter welcomes you with a warm, relaxed, inviting feel. The home exceeds the descriptions used in the ad and the home is very spacious. The kitchen has every modern amenity and is supplied beautifully. Each room is outfitted with every whim of a need you might have. We couldn't have been treated any better and would HIGHLY recommend this unit if you appreciate high quality, charm, and are responsible renters. We also enjoyed the quiet North Boulder location near Wonderland Lake, which is a nice short walk and offers great hiking. Thank you Priya and Thomas for inviting us to stay. We loved every minute in your home and hope to return next year.
I HAD SUCH A DELIGHTFUL ONE-MONTH STAY AT THIS HOME JULY 2013. THE PICTURES PERFECTLY DEPICT THIS HOUSE AND THE SPECTACULAR SURROUNDINGS BUT FALLS SHORT IN ONE AREA…THE WARMTH THAT YOU FEEL THE MINUTE YOU WALK THROUGH THE FRONT DOOR.
YOU’LL BE AWED BY VIEWS OF THE FRONT RANGE AND OPEN SPACE AT EVERY TURN WITHIN THIS WELL-APPOINTED HOUSE. BLANKETS, TO COZY UP WITH, CASUALLY PLACED THROUGHOUT THE LIVING, BED AND SITTING AREAS. (I MENTION THIS BECAUSE I NEVER ONCE FELT THE NEED TO USE THE AC DURING MY STAY.)
THIS HOME IS IMPECCABLY MAINTAINED. YOU’LL WANT FOR NOTHING IN THE KITCHEN WHILE PREPARING MEALS IN FRONT OF THE LARGE WINDOWS THAT LOOKS OUT OVER THEIR COZY FRONT GARDEN.
GREAT FOR HIKING, CYCLING AND/OR WALKING. LUCKY’S MARKET AND BAKERY AND COFFEE SHOPS WITH IN WALKING DISTANCE. BUS TRANSPORTATION IS READILY AVAILABLE TO DOWNTOWN AND NORTH BOULDER AS WELL. TRULY AN AMAZING LOCATION.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RENTAL AND A VISIT TO BEAUTIFUL BOULDER.
