Remodeled traditional Florida home across the street from water access to Sarasota Bay. Kayaks available! Relax with two bedrooms and a living room with a convertible couch plus two full baths including a claw foot tub. Stainless steel kitchen appliances, laundry room with washer and dryer. Fenced backyard. Easy access to all points North and South Tamiami Trail (Hwy 41), including Ringling School and Museum, Crosley Mansion, Sarasota/Bradenton airport, Van Wezel Performing Arts, St. Armand's Circle and several beaches.
Exceptionally quiet and friendly neighborhood. Were pleased to find double bed in lieu of twins in pics. Very comfortable and kitchen is adequately stocked. Dated bathrooms but everything worked. Only one shower in house which keeps me from 5 stars. Owner very very responsive and pleasant. I'd stay again or seek other properties from this owner.
We loved this cozy older house. Bathrooms and kitchens are updated and everything was very clean. Nice fluffy towels and bathroom rugs. Centrally located. Don't worry about being too close to the airport -- new windows and thick walls mean you don't hear planes. We loved walking less than block to the bay (public access) and watching birds (ospreys, egrets, roseate spoonbills, and more) at sunrise and low tide. The sunsets are spectacular. Charming neighborhood for walking. The owner came quickly when we had a problem accessing the wifi. Highly recommended!
House is cute but not ready for rental. There were lots of wires hanging from the walls, fans and lights did not work, one bedroom was unusable, and despite promises from the owner, there were no paddles and life preservers for both kayaks. The inability to use the kayaks was a disappointment. We partially based our decision to stay here on the only review, which as it turns out is not even for this house! We were charged additionally for a cleaning fee, which as stated on the description of the house, is already included in the weekly fee. The owner promised a refund for the overcharge, but several months have passed with no refund. This is my first review of anything I have ever written, but I feel this house is snot as represented here.
The house is very charming, better than we had expected. The owner is very friendly and helpful. We had a great time staying in this lovely quiet neighborhood. Highly recommend it!
When our youngest was accepted at Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, we realized that our family would be making numerous trips to the area for at least the next four years. We needed a "home away from home" physically and emotionally at this transitional time of our family's life. Moreover, we couldn't see leaving our rescued pup in a hotel room for hours on end as we dealt with dorm move-ins and outs, and exploring this extraordinarily beautiful place called Sarasota. The more we reviewed our choices and past experiences with hotels, it became clear that staying in a real home with a private, fenced-in yard for our little guy to exercise in safely was a must in addition to standard family needs. So the hunt was own.
Locating Brian and his lovely Spanish home in the midst of a number of competitive rental listings will always be one of those pivotal moments for our family. We had found our "home away from home" that was so real and nurturing that it was like picking up a conversation where you left off years before. Everything we needed- and more, was already waiting for us after a weary 14 hr. drive. Brian even had food and water bowls ready for Skipper, umbrellas for the sporadic rain storms and hats to ward off the sun. Everything was beautiful and super clean. The kitchen was fully equipped with many extras. Baths were lovely- and I adored the glass block privacy window wall back dropping the luxurious claw footed bathing tub.
Brian left no stone unturned to make us feel welcomed and our stay a time of renewal, refreshment, and making lifelong memories for our family. Now after multiple trips to "our" Spanish house, Brian has become more like a member of the family than a host for a rental home. He can be described in superlatives in any given category along with the home and the families/individuals he cares for who cross its threshold. And as a bonus, you will be charmed by Brian's Scot-Irish brogue, . . . and yes- he can perform a mean Riverdance at a moment's notice. You will find yourself saying, "I'm home" if you ever have the good fortune to get a reservation for this home with its front door view of the bay in the beautiful, walkable neighborhood along with the hypnotic rhythm of the waves and the seagulls lulling your aches, pains, and anxieties into non-existence. You'll probably make excuses to avoid returning to your mailing address. And the Spanish house definitely has the "Skipper" seal of approval as well.
Convenient to Ringling School of Art, Crosley Mansion, USF, Sarasota/Bradenton Airport. Easy access to Downtown Bradenton, Downtown Sarasota, St. Armand's Circle and beaches.
