Ellijay Cabin Rental Photos and Description
2 bedroom with loft on noisy water filled with trophy sized trout
Whitewater Lodge! A Privately Stocked Trophy Trout Stream!!!
Whitewater Lodge is located in the North Georgia Mountains on Mountaintown Creek. The property offers huge hemlock trees, mountain laurel, rhododendrons, noisy water and great trout fishing. Every cabin claims great trout fishing but we privately stock (spring & fall) and manage this section of river for trophy trout fishing. Our fishery management plan clearly sets Whitewater Lodge apart from the other cabins on the market. We own both sides of the creek which gives us complete control of our fishery.
This incredible stretch of the river is 40-50 feet across and 2-8 feet deep in some areas, with huge boulders and amazing whitewater rapids! We control close to 1,000’ of amazing river frontage. There is something for everyone in your group whether you enjoy swimming, floating, wading, fishing, or just reading and relaxing.
Dine on our large screened porch where you will find a 4’ x 8’ walnut table overlooking the river or relax and read in the Amish rockers. The private hot tub screened porch also has a great view of the creek. Sitting around the creek side fire pit is the perfect way to spend an evening! You'll make lasting memories by the fire where you can tell fish stories about the monster that got away. Firewood is also supplied for the fire pit. There is always something fun to do, we promise, you won't want to leave!
The cabin has 2 King bedrooms, 2 twin beds and a futon in the loft that overlooks the vaulted living/family room. The kitchen is fully equipped and all linens are top quality. You'll want to sleep with the French doors open and let the sounds of the rushing water lull you to sleep.
The Great Room is spacious and impeccably decorated with a real masonry wood burning fireplace (again firewood is supplied) and French doors that open to the Creek Side Porch. The kitchen is fully equipped with stainless appliances; ambrosia maple cabinets with walnut slab counter tops, all your basic condiments are included for your convenience. The dining area with seating for 8, overlooks a terraced rock garden. The Main Level also has a bedroom and a bathroom that is equipped with front loading washer and dryer.
If you need to stay connected while getting away from it all, don't forget to bring your laptop. We have Wireless Internet for your convenience!
Whitewater Lodge is close to town (just 6 miles from historic Ellijay and 1 1/2 hours from Atlanta), but you will feel a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of your busy life.

I was part of the group that rented your cabin in Ellijay over the weekend of April 13 and 14, 2013.
I just wanted to take a minute the thank you for providing such a wonderful experience for us. The location was perfect and the cabin was absolutely fantastic. Your effort and attention to detail was obvious and made for a really nice weekend.
Thanks again, and I hope to have a chance to return someday.
We had a wonderful time at Whitewater Lodge. The weather was great, the fishing was great, the house was great.... It was all great. We look forward to our next visit.

Yes, we had a WONDERFUL time. We managed to tuck this quick trip in (a two hour flight down from NH) and spend ten days in lovely Georgia. Lucy loves to stay at very nice, but woodsy spots. We have stayed at many a cabin together in the last twenty-five years. Your cabin was clearly one of the nicest.
We caught about fifty trout per four hours each day. Spent several nights in the hot tub enjoying a (non - breakable) glass of champagne and enjoyed the fire as well as the HBO package along with the outstanding furnishings and painstaking detail in your decorating. It was a special 2011 Xmas present for each other and well needed break.
Thank you so much,
Shawn & Lucy

Great 5 star cabin tucked away in the mountains. Did a lot of fishing and caught a lot of fish. Too much great stuff around the cabin for us to take advantage of. Definitely need to make it back to do more fishing and check out the hot tub. Great time. Will be back!

First..this cabin is SWEET! Not once were we unable to find what we needed. Second...if we hadn't experienced it we would never have believed it. The trout were HUGE, 20 fish in total, average 16 inches with a couple of hogs too. Be ready to run down stream!!

Our second visit was even better than our first. I celebrated my birthday doing all my favorite things - fly-fishing, relaxing in the hot tub, enjoying the beautiful scenery of Fall and being pampered. We fished for 2 days and caught 25 total. What a week-end! Thanks for a great weekend!

What a fabulous place. We felt world's away and that is exactly what we needed. Our 11 yr. old daughter caught her first fish on the fly...but certainly not her last. We will definitely be back.

Our second visit and hopefully not our last. We celebrated our 29th wedding anniversary while we were here and enjoyed the peace and quiet. Not ready to leave - but going home is good too!

We had wonderful time at Whitewater. Weather perfect and trout cooperative. Many to the net and released with care. We look forward to booking another visit.
Joyce happened to have our camera handy when I hooked one of the larger trout. Thought you might enjoy.

On this, the fifth annual Raleigh-Lockwood winter fly-fishing and wine drinking trip, we've found the best cabin in the North Georgia Mountains! The fishing was fantastic – even in the cold of winter, the two fishing husbands caught 25 incredibly large fish – big, fat rainbows that fought hard and leapt with fervor.
Our recommendations – Olive wooly buggers, flash-back pheasant tail nymphs, other nymphs with rubber legs, and copper johns.
The girls loved hanging at the cabin, warming themselves at the fire, drinking red wine and solving (most) all of the world's problems. The cabin has everything, and we loved our time here. Thanks.

Thanks for a great cabin for a much needed rest. We didn't see a soul so it was like being on a hidden stream tucked back in the mountains. You have thought of everything to make a stay here very comfortable. Oh….and did I mention the fishing? Over 50 in the net and it's only February!! Again, thanks from both of us. We will be back.

Here are some trout pictures from this weekend. (See Above) It was a great time had by all.
3/27/04 – 4/3/04
It was all that you said it would be and more! When we found your cabin on the web, we wondered if the fishing could possibly be as good as the stream looked.
Well, it truly was! We have fished Montana, Wyoming, Virginia, and Colorado and our week here tops all other states.
We appreciate how you represented the cabin in our discussions and how friendly you both have been.

We've rented cabins from Montana to Florida, N. Carolina, S. Carolina, Georgia, and Tenn. Yours is the Best! We fished the whole weekend and caught and released 30 fish on Sat. and 42 on Sun. What a time we had!

About Carol Trainor
My husband Pat and I spent much of our lives in the hospitality field on board luxury yachts. He was the Captain and I was the chief stewardess. We traveled all over the world with either the owners or charter guests on board. We love taking care of people and helping them enjoy their time away from home. Moving to North Georgia and acquiring a rental property has enable us to continue doing what we love.
Carol Trainor purchased this cabin in 2004
Why Carol Trainor chose Ellijay
We almost overlooked this property as you could not see the creek, it was so overgrown. But we could hear the creek because it was SO LOUD. When finally we were able to get a view, WOW, it was gorgeous!
The wind whistled through the chinking in the logs of the cabin and all of the furnishings were donated to charity. After much hard work and a huge bonfire of plants, bushes, trees etc. it started to take shape as a beautiful cabin on the edge of the creek.
What makes this cabin unique
This property is private and secluded. The creek is noisy and can be heard from every room in the cabin with the windows and doors open. The large screened in porch is perfect for family gatherings to enjoy a meal, play games or just rock in the rocking chairs. You can then relax in the screened-in hot tub section of the porch. The fire pit is AWESOME with camp fire seating all around. Wood is provided or you can chop your own.
Guestbook comments from the owner
Had a wonderful time at the cabin with wife and 2 sons. Fished, hiked sat around camp fire talking and laughing. Put us down for Thanksgiving!
