Would you like to have happy hens, wild hares and bats and horses running free as your neighbors? How about a view over almond, palm and carob trees and green grass? Our fully furnished holiday home in Cala Ratjade with all mod cons offers this and more. Tastefully decorated and furnished, it is located between the Gala Guya beach and the Capdepara Mountain on the edge of an old, abandoned sandstone quarry. By the pool, which has an electrically operated cover, you can enjoy much sun despite the shade of the surrounding trees. On the romantic shady terrace you can read a book or have a midday nap in the shadow of olive and oak trees. On the east facing, roofed terrace you can enjoy breakfast at sunrise and at dinner observe the bright lights of Menorca. The holiday home has the ETV-plaque number 559 from the tourism ministry.

The area of Cala Ratjada is located in the north east of the island on the south side of a rocky outcrop which goes down toward the sea. It was originally “only” the harbor of Capdepera and today is still the second largest fishing harbor on the island. The fortress of Capdepera, which in Roman times was the capital of the island – offers a breathtaking view over this fascinating fleck of earth and is less than one hour away by foot. Cala Ratjada has become an extraordinarily loved holiday destination for young, old, singles and families alike due to its beautiful landscape, picture book beaches, traditional outlook and bustling night life. Many tour boats leave from Cala Ratjade to the neighboring island of Menorca. There are no apartment blocks in the center. The picture of the area is determined by the typically small old style Mallorcan fishing houses, the churches and the square which becomes a marketplace on Saturdays.

Additional information about rental rates

  • For final cleaning and bed linen we charge a one-off charge of 120 Euro – internet access charge is 20 Euro a week for ADSL flat rate. The prices shown are based on a party of six people. Charge for cot 20 Euro, high stool 5 Euro per week. Cleaning and bed linen changing during your stay costs 12 Euro per hour and 10 Euro per bed respectively. There is a German speaking representative on site. The property is available from 16.00 on day of arrival, and check out is before 10.00 on day of departure. Different arrival and departure times must be agreed with the on site representative. We will try to accommodate you when at all possible.

  • The 200 x 200 cm water bed must be experienced first hand. In the pool house there is a double bed (150 x200 cm) and a small seating area with a sofa-bed, satellite television, mini bar and of course a fully furnished bathroom. Thanks to its quiet and secluded location you can relax and unwind here while turning your back on hectic everyday life. Despite this you are still only 20 minutes by foot to the center of the town and you can also quickly reach the beach and the sea. It is also only a short distance to shopping facilities and restaurants, tennis, riding, to the harbor and to the legendary “disco mile”. There are many golf courses in and around Cala Ratjada which will make a golfer’s heart beat faster.

  • There is more than enough space to relax and unwind in the 250 square meters of living space. You can spend romantic evenings in the large living room with central heating and fireplace in winter, have worthy conversations or even keep up with your work via the ADSL connection. Then you will only need satellite TV for news or background music. In the large fully furnished kitchen/living area there is a table where 8 people can eat comfortably. Even the professional chef will be surprised by the range of helpful cooking utensils on offer. The two bedrooms in the main building are connected to the stereo system in the living room, have window shades and fly proof mesh to defend against unwanted pests and are as practically and functionally furnished as the two bathrooms( one en suite) with hairdryer and enough space for all your creams and shampoos.

Notes: The holiday home has the ETV certification from the tourism ministry. The roof on the 10 x 4 meter pool can be electrically opened and closed Amongst the highlights of the area are the medieval market in May, the two Marathons in July and August, the open air summer concerts in June, the diverse local cultural festivals, like San Antonio (January), the fishing festival on 16th July with fireworks and the gold mackerel cooking festival at the end of September in the harbor. The tourist office organizes guided walking and cycle tours.
