Since this is a new on this website, there are not a lot of reviews yet, but here is what others who have stayed at Poets Corner Lodge have said about their experience:
***** Poets Corner Lodge is a stunning contemporary styled lodge situated high above Waihi Beach in a beautiful hill top setting. The Lodge is entered through lovely wooden doors into an internal courtyard – with two luxury bedrooms on each side - leading to a impressive open plan living room and kitchen area where guests take breakfast and are encouraged to while away the evenings and share a glass of wine and converse with fellow guests. The huge living room with its vast sliding glass doors looks out over the well tended gardens to the most stunning sea views and the coast beyond. The bedrooms are spacious, comfortable and decorated to a very high standard. Each bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom, with towels, bathrobes and slippers. The whole lodge exudes an atmosphere of calm and tranquillity; offers guests such a magical place to stay.
***** My husband and I stayed here at the beginning of a month long trip round New Zealand and Poets Corner set a standard here that was not bettered elsewhere - excellent though the other lodges were. Comfortable and luxurious accommodation. Definitely our favourite place to stay
***** Poets Corner is a modern, private, comfortable, beautiful property. You enter into a quaint, well manicured courtyard with 4-6 doors entering the guest bedrooms on either side. Through the courtyard you enter wall to wall, ceiling to floor sliding glass doors. The living area is large, modern, comfortable and extends through the dining and kitchen area. This results in 1 single huge open area giving a wonderful feeling of openness. The back wall (across from the courtyard entrance wall) is also wall to wall and ceiling to floor glass doors. The view is spectacular. Since the property is set on top of a hill, there are no obstructions and you can see beautiful ocean, hills and off to the right, waves crashing onto the beach. Truly spectacular! We would LOVE to visit Poets Corner again SOON!!!
My wife and I came down here for vacation in February 2013 and fell in love with Poets Corner Lodge. It is truly one of the most beautiful spots on the face of the earth.
Bill Moyes purchased this villa in 2013
Well, just look at the photos and you will understand!
One of the great things about New Zealand is that winter in the Northern Hemisphere is SUMMER in New Zealand, so if you want to get away from the cold in December, January, February, or March, you find Poets Corner is warm and comfortable (never hot, like many parts of Australia during the summer). Average high temps during the summer months are 75F/23-24 C. And getting here is easy- from Auckland, it is an 1 hour and 40 minute drive over good highway and road.
We came here with our UK family for a long weekend. Great place, great location, well equipped, cosy but modern. We loved the peace and serenity that this place has to offer and with close distance to Waihi and Waihi beach restaurants and sights, you really feel treated.
We just returned from a 3 week Family trip to New Zealand and Australia. During our trip we stayed 3 nights at Poets Corner. The home is very beautiful and was the most updated/luxurious accommodations of our entire trip. 4 separate bathrooms allowed us all our privacy and made it very easy for our entire family to get showered and ready quickly so we had more time to explore the Beautiful area. My kids enjoyed nearby Waihi Beach and the quaint, historic town of Waihi. Spectacular views of the ocean from the back patio. Conservation land behind the house adds tranquility and privacy (although we found it unusual that New Zealand does not let you hike/trek thru conservation lands...completely preserved only to be enjoyed from afar).
We really appreciated the wonderful laundry facilities and it was great to have WIFI access (which can be difficult to find in New Zealand). We would definitely stay here again in the future! Thanks for sharing your beautiful house with our family!
My partner and I booked 2 nights at Poet's Corner in February 2014 and upon our arrival changed our itinerary and added 2 additional nights. The house is amazing with a fireplace, gourmet kitchen and a great large hot tub. What also was great was the outside terrace with tons of comfortable seating and a huge wood table and Gas BBQ. The bathrooms were plush with large showers and even towel warmers. Nicki was so helpful - We really wanted to get out on the water, and she suggested a great spot to do so - that was a real highlight while there. Although we spent of the day's exploring, we used most evenings relaxing with a cocktail on the terrace and using the BBQ to do great dinner's. The owner suggested us to go to a restaurant which we did as well - The Bistro at Falls retreat - just excellent for lunch or dinner -awesome food and drinks. We would definitely rent this property again.
