Since this is a new on this website, there are not captured reviews yet, but here is what others who have stayed at Poets Corner Lodge have said about their experience:
Poets Corner Lodge is a stunning contemporary styled lodge situated high above Waihi Beach in a beautiful hill top setting. The Lodge is entered through lovely wooden doors into an internal courtyard – with two luxury bedrooms on each side - leading to a impressive open plan living room and kitchen area where guests take breakfast and are encouraged to while away the evenings and share a glass of wine and converse with fellow guests. The huge living room with its vast sliding glass doors looks out over the well tended gardens to the most stunning sea views and the coast beyond. The bedrooms are spacious, comfortable and decorated to a very high standard. Each bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom, with towels, bathrobes and slippers. The whole lodge exudes an atmosphere of calm and tranquillity & offers guests such a magical place to stay.
My husband and I stayed here at the beginning of a month long trip round New Zealand and Poets Corner set a standard here that was not bettered elsewhere - excellent though the other lodges were. Comfortable and luxurious accommodation. Definitely our favourite place to stay.'
Poets Corner is a modern, private, comfortable, beautiful property. You enter into a quaint, well manicured courtyard with 4-6 doors entering the guest bedrooms on either side. Through the courtyard you enter wall to wall, ceiling to floor sliding glass doors. The living area is large, modern, comfortable and extends through the dining and kitchen area. This results in 1 single huge open area giving a wonderful feeling of openness. The back wall (across from the courtyard entrance wall) is also wall to wall and ceiling to floor glass doors. The view is spectacular. Since the property is set on top of a hill, there are no obstructions and you can see beautiful ocean, hills and off to the right, waves crashing onto the beach. Truly spectacular! We would LOVE to visit Poet's Corner again SOON!!!
My wife and I came down here for vacation in February 2013 and fell in love with Poets Corner Lodge. It is truly one of the most beautiful spots on the face of the earth. Luckily, Marg and John Richie, who had built the lodge and run it as a boutique 'by-the-room' accommodation for many years, wanted to spend more time with their children and grandchildren, knew that we were in awe of the area, and asked if we'd like to purchase it. We now run it (as we do with our primary residence http://www.vrbo.com/288344) as a beautiful home for rent that sleeps 8 in luxury.

Well, just look at the photos and you will understand!
One of the great things about New Zealand is that winter in the Northern Hemisphere is SUMMER in New Zealand, so if you want to get away from the cold in December, January, February, or March, you'll find Poets Corner is warm and comfortable (never hot, like many parts of Australia during the summer). Average high temps during the summer months are 75F/23-24 C. SAnd getting here is easy- from Auckland, it is less than a 1 hour and 40-50 minute drive over good highway and road.
