The villa has every comfort you need. Great sea views from both upstairs bedrooms and the back garden/pool area. Access to Coral Bay restaurants and supermarkets are only a short walk away, as well as lovely Coral Bay beach.
The air conditioning helps at night if it's the height of summer, as mosquitos can be a pest once the sun goes down. The villa had citronella coils for use to repel the mozzies should you want to brave it outside at night.
My husband and I hired a car for the week, which we could park easily in the villa's driveway.
We didn't get to tune into tv (but we didn't try too hard since we were mostly relaxing or siteseeing). We took advantage of the stereo radio and tuned into local Cypriot radio stations. I'd recommend that you bring some CDs and DVDs of your choice if you want to take full advantage of the facilities provided.
Cooking facilities are great- all the cutlery/bottle openers/crockery you need. We took advantage of the tupperware provided also, as we took some food with us on days out siteseeing.
Carol has provided some Cyprus books/information should you want to find places to explore around the island (unless you already have your own guide book). You are spoilt for choice as there is a lot to see. It really is a holiday destination that could suit most people (covering historical archaelogical/religious sites, mountain hiking, stunning scenery, great places to swim all around the island, wine tasting, gorgeous mediterranean food...).
After 1 week we saw quite a lot & relaxed, too, but want to come back to see more of other parts we missed.
Activities/sites we'd recommend include:
*swimming at Aphrodite's Rock and watching the sunset there
*Driving in the Troodos mountains and seeing Kaledonia falls and visiting the various wineries & little towns (e.g. Omodos) along the way.
*Driving north to the towns of Polis & Pommos to see the views
*Swimming at the bay near Aphrodite's Baths (north-west)
*Seeing the Tombs of the Kings & Paphos mosaics
*Driving to see the Ancient Kouiron on the south coast
*Eating dinner at Avdimou beach (south coast)
There is much more, but you'll have to discover it for yourself.
We'll definitely try and stay at the same villa upon our return.
I am a regular user of HomeAway.co.uk website and haven't been disappointed yet. This villa is no exception. We loved it.
Enjoy!
