About Elizabeth (Betsy) Kusterle
My husband Butch and I currently live on Sunset Beach. We both grew up in the St. Petersburg/Tampa Bay area, attended local schools and have many friends here and a large family. I am retired from 25 years working for the State of Florida Division of Law Enforcement. My husband is employed (38 years)at Misener Marine construction company.
Elizabeth (Betsy) Kusterle purchased this cottage in 1950
Why Elizabeth (Betsy) Kusterle chose Sunset Beach
My husbands family owned this property for many years. He grew up on Sunset Beach. Originally being from Pittsburg, they wanted to moved down for the warmer climate and decided to stay. The property was left in an estate to my husband. We can't imagine living anywhere else.
What makes this cottage unique
The cottage has been upgraded over the years but the original walls of pecky cypress are still untouched. It possesses a coziness and feel of old Florida beach life. The close proximity to the Gulf is always a plus. Bike rides or casual walks are a pleasurable past time.
