Baunei is considered to be one of the most beautiful and fascinating places in the world. Situated on the central-eastern side of Sardinia, it is a region of uncontaminated nature, rich in lakes, woods, beaches, as well as several nuraghi (the most representative monument of its millenary history) and the tombs of the giants. Sheltered by the Gennargentu massif, Ogliastra slopes down to south with gentle hills that lead to the rocky and jagged coastline, washed by crystal clear waters, dotted with beaches of peerless beauty. Cala Luna, Cala Goloritzé, Cala Sisine, Cala Mariolu, just to mention a few of them, can be reached by sea or by land. Enchanting and charming paths lead to the spire of Pedralonga, while others will bring you to visit sites of particular landscape and naturalistic interest like the plateau and the abyss of Golgo, the spire of Goloritzé (Punta Caroddi) and the canyon of Gorroppu.
