As you enter the newly re-designed and renovated home situated in Phase I of the architecturally significant Canyon View Estates, you will be welcomed by the allure and appeal of a warm and welcoming living room that captures the essence of mid-century modernism. Canyon View Estates is the perfect place to relax, unwind and call home for the duration of your stay. Canyon View Estates was built in 1963 and designed by the renowned architects Dan Palmer + William Krisel.
With 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms, this stunning unit can sleep 4 very comfortably for an infinite amount of time. The property is completely furnished with high end furniture, a curated suite of accessories and pieces, art and a collection of design, architecture and Palm Springs related books to entertain you during your stay. The space is ideal for entertaining and boasts a large sectional sofa, perfect for relaxation and watching the mountainous desert scenery or a movie on the 50’ Sony LED HDTV in the living room and 41’ Sony LED HDTVs in each bedroom.
Light polished concrete floors throughout provide the backdrop to the completed extensive/ top-to-bottom renovation with music wired in every room (including the bathrooms), all with separate controls for volume and on/off.
The living room, with its soaring 12' ceilings and clerestory windows is bright and sunny and the back section of the living area provides a wall of glass with breathtaking views of the green lawn, the swimming pool and sunbathing area, and most stunningly, the San Jacinto mountains.
The fully equipped kitchen is perfect and is complete with microwave, conventional oven, dishwasher, and cooking utensils. The adjacent dining room table can sit you and your guests comfortably for a delicious lunch or a centerpiece for conversation during a dinner party.
The large master bedroom boasts an ensuite master bathroom, 41' flat screen HDTV, and direct access to the outdoor patio. The second bedroom has a 41' flat screen , a sitting area, and access to the second full bathroom. Both bedrooms are sunny and bright with views.
Only minutes from the airport and downtown Palm Springs, you’ll be close to Koffi, Ralph's and Jensen's gourmet market. Golf, hiking trails and bike paths are also nearby
We had a great experience here and appreciated the owner's desire to learn and continually improve the place. Newly renovated and everything spotlessly clean. The mid-century modernist theme of Palm Springs has definitely been extended into this condo unit through touches big and small from skylights to the eclectic artwork. If you love living amidst modernist expressionism, then the concrete floors, acrylic furniture, clean white paintwork and daytime brightness will be highly valued. If your tastes run instead to Mahogany Victorian stuffiness, then you probably won't appreciate what this place has to offer.
The only things to be aware of are that much of the seating is low and deep. Older people may find it hard to rise from some of the chairs and couches. The owner is aware of this and may already have made the changes needed to accommodate seniors. If this is a concern, check with the owner. It would be a shame to pass up this place for a matter that the owner may already have dealt with.
What CAN'T I say about this house, it is EXACTLY what you want when looking for a place in palm springs; light, chic, updated, perfectly located and has it all! My girlfriends and I were looking for a place to rent for New Years and when we found this gem we couldn't have been more excited, until we showed up and it was even better than we imagined. The design is open and airy, while the décor is modern and minimal but very comfortable. Everything is updated and new, which is always nice. The house is situated within walking distance of the ace hotel and many hiking spots that we took advantage of. Downtown PS is a short 5 minute drive. The owner is incredibly friendly, responsive and easy to deal with and he has truly created an oasis in the desert. I would absolutely recommend this house to anyone and everyone and I cannot wait to return!
