About John Bridenstine

Both my wife & I were born and raised in Florida. After living in Miami for 20 years and Saint Petersburg for 10 we now live in Dade City about an hour east of Hudson Beach. My wife runs our Veterinary practice and I am an Engineer working for a large building products company. We have an 18 year old son and 8-year old twins!

John Bridenstine purchased this house in 2013

Why John Bridenstine chose Hudson

We had been planning to buy a waterfront vacation home in the lower keys form many years since we vacation there every year. When we were finally able to purchase one we realized it was to far to maintain & enjoy regularly so we found the next best area for us.

Excellent Home to Rent; Stayed a month and loved the accomodations!

  • 5 of 5

You couldn't ask for a more accommodating host. We asked John about cooking items and he went out and got everything we asked for! What a super host. We loved the home. The only issue we had was not with John's rental. The traffic on RT 19?, the main multi-lane highway available, is ridiculous; some of the drivers have a death wish. We loved several of the small, off the path, restaurants, and found that some of the chain restaurants were better than the locally owned!. We loved the location and the home, it was clean/quiet and huge for the two of us and our Brittany. But, too many people in FL.

Thanks John.

Great Home Away From Home

  • 5 of 5

This is a great home for couples or families. It is very well kept, spacious, and quiet since it is at the end of the street. It is very well stocked with paper supplies and pots, pans, and dishes and convenient to shopping. John, the owner, is very accommodating and has added a vacuum, furniture, and kitchen items since our last visit. He also encouraged suggestions for any additional items to make our stay better. We took advantage of the Tampa Bay Citypass and got admissions to Busch Gardens, Tampa Aquarium, Tampa Zoo, Tampa Museum & Science Center, and Clearwater Aquarium for half the regular price. We visited Weeki Wachee Springs for the mermaid show and Homosassa Springs for the manatees. Additionally we enjoyed the TECO Manatee Viewing Center, Tampa Bay Automobile Museum, and Ruth Eckerd Hall for concerts. We would recommend Harold Seltzers for prime rib (specials Mon and Thurs), Niko's Place also for prime rib with great salad bar, and Ron's Pit Stop for barbeque chicken and pulled pork (specials Wed). It is very relaxing to sit on the dock on the canal and watch the birds and fish. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it. Greg and Linda S

Great Stay!

  • 5 of 5

A really nice home with lots of amenities. Home is very clean, very spacious and stocked really well with all the paper supplies you would need for your stay. Quiet, peaceful neighborhood literally around the corner from the open gulf. Had an opportunity to meet the owner (really nice guy) who is genuinely concerned about his home being the best it can be for his renters. Extended our stay three additional days without any problems. The owner was always easy to reach. Highly recommend this home. One of the nicest vrbo rentals we have had the opportunity to use.

Owner's Response: Thanks Butch & Sandy, It was great to meet you as well! With my work I am in nicer hotels myself much of the time so I try to have the house as I would want it for my family. Just this weekend we upgraded the living room furniture to a coastal design with a very comfortable sleeper sofa. Kind Regards, John

Bring your boat

  • 5 of 5

After looking for hotels for the Labor Day weekend we decided to look to rental houses. We found this house and it was the perfect location, perfect size and very well kept. We brought our boat and docked it right at the house, the boat ramp is only a mile away and we were fishing in the Gulf from the house in just a few minutes. The house is very comfortable and everything you need is there. There were just the two of us so it was very comfortable, there are some great restaurants very close by (Best of Philly was our favorite) and WalMart and Winn-Dixie are just a 5-10 minute drive from the house. We had the chance to relax and escape while still be close to everything.

The only thing I would say, I would not recommend this house for people with smaller children or toddlers. The home does have glass top tables and has one small step going from the dining room to the Florida room which could make it "challenging" for little ones. We would definitely rent this home again...but maybe when it is a little cooler and the fishing is better!

Owner's Response: Thanks for your review Richard. We really enjoy boating in the area. We are replaced the glass tables to eliminate the concern with smaller children. We want to make sure families have a fun & safe time especially with the little ones! John & LeAnn

Great Home!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed out stay here. Home all the space and amenities you could possibly need for a great vacation. Kids loved the kayaks and fishing off the dock. Very comfortable and clean. Definitely recommend for anyone wanting a nice family getaway from the hustle and bustle of the typical tourist chaos. Also, many shops and restaurants close by when needing to get out.

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for the kind words Katrine! My family loves to go there to play there as well. My teenage son likes to have frends over to go skiing and my 8-year-old twins love to swim & fish off the dock while my wife & I enjoy a relaxing barbeque.
