LOSE YOURSELF IN BAJA: ENJOY THE SOLITUDE OF AN EMPTY DESOLATE BEACH

San Jose del Cabo Villa Rental Photos and Description

6-BR, 7 bath, 3-Casita Villa Compound with Private Beach

Casa Tortuga is the ideal spot for anyone desiring a getaway that is truly tucked away. Situated on its own sandy beach just a couple hundred yards south of Shipwrecks, Villa Tortuga makes for one heckuv an awesome surfing trip. If Miguel's services are requested he is on hand at his reasonable daily rate to make this a true vacation. Throw your boards into one of our beach quads, motor on down to the break and

surf away the morning while Miguel fishes the ancient waters for your lunch. (It's what we do).

Rustic, yet charmingly luxurious, Tortuga offers the traveler the unique opportunity to stay in a private world-class villa perched on a sloping bluff directly in front of an empty, white-sanded beach.

In the main house, there are two casitas with two bedrooms a piece along witha master suite centered between the casitas. Each bedroom affords the guest a

spectacular panoramic view of the Seas blue waters. The master suite has its own large bathroom while the casitas each share amply-sized ones. The kitchen is well appointed with an array of modern amenities so as to provide the foodies amongst you a creative culinary outlet if so inclined. (Otherwise, bug Miguel. He's fantastic in the kitchen and knows how to serve-up with the best of them). If a chill makes its way through the compound – and it definitely does on occasional evenings – stoke a fire in the main living room, pour yourself a brandy and cozy down for the night.

In addition, nestled just south of the main house, sits a private, detached casita fully equipped with a working kitchen, bar, living room and master bath. The views here are equally as impressive as they offer the visitor an unobstructed panorama of the sea as it fades into the horizon.

Last of all – and of course this is by no means an exhaustive rendering of what Tortuga offers – there is an outdoor pool with a pretty epic slide, a heated Jacuzzi and a very necessary bar off of the communal deck of the main villa.

Tortuga Mandates:

1. Paddle out to Shipwrecks and catch a barreled right.

2. Go spear fishing with Miguel. Eat from your own sword – fresh giant lobsters, ripe buttery cabrillas, pericos and pompanos.

3. Demand Miguel make you his famous tortilla soup.

4.Remember that you're on Tortuga Time. All that matters is that you’re having the time of your life.

Oh, and leave all mental meds behind. You won't be needing them here.

Guestbook comments from the manager
What a fabulous place to relax, taking morning walks on the beach to watch the surfers and collect sea shells, sitting under the unbrellas, reading and napping and having drinks and snacks delivered to us. Surf fishing in the mornings and evenings and taking a dip in the pool in the afternoon. The best was watching whales and dolphins all day. The sunrises and sunsets were spectacular.

We highly recommend the full service option where Miguel and his staff take care of everything! They went shopping for food and beverages before we arrived, so we walked in the door, put on our suits and had drinks by the pool. He arranged for our rental car, took us for excursions into town, to the kayaking and snorkeling at Cabo Pulmo and drove my husband and friends to Cabo San Lucas for Marlin fishing. Miguel took us into San Jose Cabo Del Sol for the Art Walk evening and we visited many of the art galleries. We had a great dinner at a local restaurant. On another day we toured an organic garden and did some shopping in town.

Housekeeping cleaned our rooms and did laundry. The best part were the gourmet meals prepared by Miguel and Mario using locally sourced organic produce. Breakfast, lunch and 3 course dinners. Morning and afternoon snacks and fruit drinks. Best of all, no cleanup! We looked forward to our before dinner “Mexican Lemonades”.

The accommodations are lovely! There is a huge master suite, which encompasses the entire second floor. The 4 Casitas were very nice with plenty of room for a couple. We all ate on a large table on the covered patio and there is plenty of space for everyone to do their own thing.

One of the most strikingly gorgeous, sun-drenched places on the planet, a visit to the East Cape of Cabo is a top-ten must. A premier beach destination, nearby Cabo San Lucas with its rugged, cliff-side terrain slinking into the azure Sea of Cortez waters, will charm the most jaded of travelers. Its fabled deep-sea fishing, cove of constant skiffs moving in and out to sea and modest wooden bungalows that once dotted the sleepy

landscape captivated the wanderlusting imagination of such iconic personalities as Ernest Hemingway, John Wayne, Steve McQueen, Mick Jagger and Sophia Loren. And though now long-since gone – these skiffs and simple bungalows – that ancient Cabo spirit still casts its awe upon the visitor transfixing and bewitching all that wander her streets, swim her waters and drink in her intoxicating landscapes.

Here, at Casa Tortuga, we give nod to that rustic, storied past by giving authenticity to your experience. Whether your ideal getaway is about enjoying afternoon cocktails or just getting lazy in a hammock while the sound of ancient waves hypnotically chip away at the consciousness of your problems… we’ve got you all buttoned up at Casa Tortuga. Our sprawling beach compound is the perfect getaway for anyone who refers to him or herself as human. From the contemplative traveler who desires solitude, meditation – and perhaps a midnight stroll along an empty moonlit beach –Tortuga is off-the-beaten path; for the thrill-seeker –empty breaks to surf, mysterious caves to explore, shipwrecks and their booty to ponder; and yet for those travelers who like to indulge in life's more luxurious pamperings, it's close enough to the boutiques, nightlife and action so famously alluring of Cabo. Aye, from migrating whales to righteous surf breaks; sultry nightclubs to award-winning kitchens; from rugged, virgin coastline drives to star-peppered nights, Casa Tortuga promises to deliver the stay of a lifetime.
