We had a very LONG ride from St. Louis and were absolutely delighted when we finally got across the "scary" Charleston bridge to Sullivan's Island and this beautiful gem of a house. We were three plus two dogs. We are constantly looking for places where we can bring the puppies to play in the water, and John, the owner, was very accommodating. The house itself is ideal for a family. With one bathroom, it works well if you are related. Although we went off the island once or twice, we stuck mostly close by because it was just perfect for what we needed. The trips out were to dine in Charleston and...well, to dine in Charleston. Really can't ask for a better location if the beach is your goal, and you want to lay back and rejuvenate. We ate every meal--except for the two times we dined in Charleston--in the screened in dining area. Absolutely lovely. The pool was a plus, and we weren't expecting that. We'd definitely do it again.
We loved the house. Perfect for families with young children. Our kids lived in the pool when we were not at the beach. The proximity to restaurants and downtown. Thanks for a great trip!
This is a great place to stay. Is as advertised. So peaceful. The house is only 1 block from all the restaurants and a 5 minute walk to the beach. I would def. stay here again.
We say, sign us up for the next 5 Christmases! Our first Christmas away from home was made memorable by the hominess and comfort of this historic beach house. The indoor and outdoor spaces were well furnished and decorated. All of our family commented on how comfortable the new mattresses felt. The living room and kitchen provided ample space for good eating and family games.
Sullivan's Island is quiet and quaint with easy access to historic Charleston and all the conveniences of Mt Pleasant just over the bridge. Always looked forward to nestling back here.
My husband and I stayed here for 8 nights. The house was EXACTLY what we were looking for and more (The pictures DO NOT do this place justice!). John was amazing and went out of his way to make sure that we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location could not be more perfect as everything is within walking distance, the beach, great restaurants, etc. We'll definitely be coming back!
I live on Sullivan's and rented this cottage for a group of family in town for a week. We like the slow life on Sullivan's, but we welcome visitors with open arms.
Well, after spending a week at here i very well may have some family moving soon. John could have have been more accommodating, my aunt and uncle arrived the first night at 10pm and John was there waiting on them with the lights on and gave them a tour of the property.
When you rent this place you literally do not need to get in your car until it is time to go home or back to the airport. You can walk a block to Poes, Hometeam or the local coffee shop (or more importantly walk home...)
I could go on and on about how or convenient this place is and how good a host John is but like I said, we like this secret to ourselves on Sullivan's....
