Overview

Palm Springs House Rental Photos and Description

Architectural 2 Bedroom, 2 Bath Designer's Home With Swimming Pool.

CLOUD 9

Private pool with Luxury accommodation in secluded house.

Upon entering this home you are going to want to stay and stay and stay.

With a touch of class and an elegance to the design coupled with an indoor/outdoor flow from every room, you will be showered with a heavenly lull, almost like taking a trip to Bali.

This lovely home reflects my life in design and architecture, passion for plants and landscaping and time spent traveling around the world.

This two bedroom, each with its attached bathroom, has its own mid-sized pool nestled under an oasis of 12 palm trees, just a small part of the 21 palms on the property.

The home is very private, quiet and surrounded by well cultivated lush, tropical landscape.

Wisteria covers the veranda in March and April.

Grapefruit and Orange blossom perfume the air in February and March and a sizable grapevine yields and endless supply of the sweetest seedless champagne grapes from the end of April through June.

The neighbors on each side are wonderful and respectful.

Freshly painted and refurbished, this home boasts sophistication with original artwork on all the walls and oriental rugs on top of the Mexican tiled floors. A spacious outdoor shower leads off the master bedroom and to the pool. The intimate, covered outdoor patio, which leads off one side of the living room and kitchen, has two fans and is surrounded with misters.

The living room, together with gas burning fireplace, looks on to the pool and numerous palm trees as well as the cozy, covered patio. A great surround sound system is yours for the choosing. There is a beautiful dining room leading off the living room. An over-sized original canvas painting on the wall gives the space an intimacy, coziness and sense of style.

The kitchen has excellent connection and separation from the living room and dining room in a functional way providing easy access to all spaces, including the outside dining. The kitchen itself has a chopping block island and is fully equipped with a double oven and a Wolf gas range. All counters and back splashes are granite. Ice maker in the ice box and a double sink. An array of interesting teas and a bottle of wine will be there to greet you.

Each bedroom has a Queen sized bed. These bedrooms have there own bathrooms, with granite counter tops, shower/bathtubs and toilet in each room. T.V.’s are in both bedrooms.

Of course, the house has WiFi, cable and internet.

A hammock is strategically placed at the edge of the pool. Feel free to drop your foot into the pool, while nestling with a book or sipping a glass of wine. An over-sized Buddha under the palms looks on to add the peace and tranquility of the space.

The house is very quiet and private. It is located close to the 10 Freeway and is in close proximity to supermarkets and other general amenities.

The Property Manager will greet you upon your arrival, give you keys and show you the workings of the home, including lighting, t.v. internet connection etc.

This home, Cloud 9, is gem.

If you want a quite, tranquil and zen like experience, this is the home for you.

We warmly welcome you.

About Lucien Wolff

I am an architect and Interior Designer. Graduated at Cape Town University in South Africa. I have been in the USA since 1979 and have traveled to many countries around the world.

Lucien Wolff purchased this house in 2004

Why Lucien Wolff chose Palm Springs

This property has an excellent floor plan, with a terrific indoor/outdoor feel . The master bedroom has an outdoor shower which leads onto the pool. The kitchen and it's relationship to the living room and the outdoor dining and sitting space under a covered porch, make it excellent for comfort and entertaining. All of the rooms look toward a mature, colorful tropical garden. The home itself is generally exceptionally quiet and introverted from the street. The home is also very easy to maintain, with numerous seating and enjoyment options. There are 21 mature Washingtonia Palm on the property, giving the feel of being at an oasis.

What makes this house unique

Just six miles from downtown Palm Springs and less than a mile from the I-10 Freeway access.

There are two bicycles in the garage.

The house is completely private with a two car garage.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Lucien,

Thank you for being such an attentive and delightful host. I can understand why your rental receives such positive reviews. Being your guest should bring a smile to anyone's day, and yes, we did thoroughly enjoy staying in your home. The landscaping was probably the best I have ever seen and we loved sipping morning coffee, listening to the birds and planning our day. Evenings again found us relaxing under the tropical vegetation and being serenaded by night creatures. It was quiet private and seemed very far away.

We will certainly recommend a stay at your home to others looking for a lovely Palm Springs getaway.

Thanks again. Linda. Barry and Robbie

An idyllic house in a wonderful area

  • 5 of 5

We are a UK retired couple who visit California annually to meet with our adult son, this year we were together at Lucien's house and all had a wonderful time. The house is beautifully designed and fitted out with some terrific art work. It is ideal for enjoying outside living whilst providing all the creature comforts desirable. The garden truly deserves the idyllic epithet, my wife said she could have spent her entire time there without going out at all! The area is quiet and calm contributing to a most relaxing holiday. It is a great environment to explore by the 2 bikes provided as every where is flat with many bike lanes, shops are within easy reach. Lucien is very welcoming caring and helpful, making the whole stay easy and pleasurable.

Palm Springs has all the amenities needed and great facilities/ things to do. We enjoyed immensely the Joshua Tree National Park with its amazing flora and trees plus dramatic scenery. An area we also visited and marvelled at is the Salton Sea (not much mentioned in guide books) a surreal area with its 1950s heyday relics abounding. The bird life is remarkable as it provides an essential staging post on the birds migratory route from Alaska south.

We shall certainly be coming again soon to enjoy the house and further explore this amazing environment. My only worry about recommending this place is that there won't be time for us in the future.

Owner's Response: Jonathan, You are such a delightful, interesting and fun seeking person. I think I will clone you. Remind me, when you come back next year, to tell you about "Shamans Lair". You and your family are simply lovely people and I sincerely hope that you will return next year for further desert exploration. Give your family my best. Try to stay warm, and put the jet lag behind you. However, to be honest, I also feel in a daze each time I fly to England or Europe. Takes me at least 5 days before I feel normal, what ever that term means. I really appreciate your lovely review. Thank you for taking the time to write it. Best from me, Lucien

The Oasis

  • 5 of 5

We found this place last year - and loved it so we returned this year for a month - great feeling of private, peaceful retreat. Great indoor/outdoor living space. We cycle so great routes going east and south in the Chochella valley from the house. Lucien is very accommodating - wants visitors to have a positive experience - and if you are like us - you will. You do need a vehicle as the home is not within walking distance of restaurants, shopping etc.

Owner's Response: Debbie and Clyde, What a joy to have you both stay here in the desert once again this year. Sergio just loves the hell out of you, and the laughs were aplenty. What delightful and interesting people whose presence, enriched both our lives. Thank you for that. Lucien

A Piece of Paradise

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful 2 weeks holiday at this lovely home. We felt at ease immediately because the rooms were beautifully designed, the bed was comfortable, the kitchen well equipped, materials to read, a variety of patios, birdlife and lush landscaping provided daily visual feasts. Each day we would explore a different surrounding area, Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Joshua Tree etc. and it was always so enjoyable to come home. The tranquility, neighborhood, amazing night sky, a warm fireplace and two bikes were just what we needed to discover this piece of paradise. Thank you, Lucien for all your attention, advice, and art. We enjoyed meeting you and we will tell our friends about this lovely retreat.

Revived!

  • 5 of 5

Arriving you get to see that all the pictures you have looked at on the Internet are true. The garden of plants and trees surrounds the outside dining area and the pool invites a quick dip to refresh you after your travels. Lucien goes through the workings of the house, even though you are barely listening because of the warmth and beauty around you. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable and each has the convenience of a full ensuite bath. The doors are all open and the fresh air circulates through the house. You get the feeling of complete comfort with the surroundings. The kitchen is just the right size, and anyone cooking is part of the entire living area with its open look throughs to the living and dining rooms. A quick unpack into the ample closets and you are relaxed and at ease. One of the biggest things that struck us was how quiet everything is. The idea of having neighbours really doesn't really hit you, because of the quiet and the over growth of plants and trees. You get the feeling the use of the outdoor shower is a no brainer. The privacy is amazing. Stocking the house with groceries is as easy as a four block drive to the grocery store. Fresh and Easy is the local store that has everything, for every diet. Mountain bikes are at the ready if that is your thing. Laundry is quick and easy, and reliable.

Right down to making sure we had some coffee for our first morning, some OJ in the fridge, and fresh fruit on the counter, Lucien was a perfect host. Information on the area was in abundance and at the ready. Nothing was overlooked. We settled in for a reviving two weeks we will try and duplicate as soon as we can.

Owner's Response: Wow! What a generous and giving review! Just a reflection of who you are as people. I am so glad to have met you and look forward to your next visit, which, hopefully, will be even better. Think that you will be interested as I have started to repaint the outside of the house, using a combination of what I thought to be Terra Cotta, but Sergio terms it "Stanley Kubrick Orange" LOL in combination with Tan, and the paint company terms "Toasted Coffee". Let's hope it is not too wild, but giving the house a more "Bali-like" feel. Thanks for being such great visitors. I "get" that you "get it". Lucien

Peaceful and Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

I had a lovely stay at this vacation rental. I stayed here to relax and get away from the hustle & bustle of Los Angeles. Upon arrival, I instantly began to unwind and relax. The property is extraordinarily beautiful. I enjoyed lying in the hammock, swimming in the pool, and eating outdoors. Super close to markets and drug stores. Lucien is extremely warm and accommodating. My vacation was heavenly!

Beautiful, peaceful and comfortable!

  • 5 of 5

We found this home a perfect place to have our souls brought back to life after the bitter winter we've had. The landscaping is beautiful and the yard private. We were able to eat EVERY meal outdoors on the patio. Plenty of comfortable seating throughout the home and patios. The home is conveniently located close to hiking, dining and shopping. The owner was gracious enough to have fresh fruit, bagels and other breakfast foods waiting for us so we didn't have to make a late night run to the grocery store on arrival. He was very interested in doing everything he could to make our time there enjoyable. Easy to communicate with and attentive to our wants and needs. Nice place to spend time in the winter.
