Spectacular views from all areas of this comfortable home with a solar heated salt water pool combined with excellent indoor/outdoor living make this a beautiful Hawaiian vacation home. Eco friendly with electricity and hot water generated by solar panels which augment the local utility. Enjoy the private lava rock outdoor shower which has orchids growing throughout and a magnificent ocean view. Outdoor shower has Hot/Cold water and was featured in Local Hawaiian Home Magazine. Expansive lawn and tropical landscaping which are illuminated by landscape lighting create a tranquil setting. Eight seat teak dining table on front lanai is a great gathering place. Teak pool lounges provide ample seating. WiFi is provided throughout the property as well as premium movie channels.
We stayed for nine nights in this comfortable private home on the north Kohala coast. The owner has taken great care to make sure the outdoor living areas are comfortable. The pool was great and the landscaping and outdoor shower exceptional. The house was well stocked with beach towels and chairs for the beach. We enjoyed some of the local restaurants, but used the BBQ for the majority of our meals. Very pleasant stay and the owner is very accommodating. I recommend this house.
I am a little late in adding my positive review to all the others but here goes. My husband & I rented this villa for 5 weeks in Feb and March 2015. Paul and his wife were fantastic people to deal with both before and after arrival. The house was spotlessly clean and the kitchen well supplied. The pool area was great. The view from the lanai was spectacular and we enjoyed morning coffee watching the whales as well as afternoon drinks and dinner with a sunset! The outdoor shower was a real treat especially the water pressure. The house was very private and the North Kohala coast just beautiful. I would highly recommend this villa.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Paul's home. He has taken great care to include everything you could need (laundry detergent, dish detergent, beach towels, beach chairs, cooler, cooler freezer packs, etc.). We loved the hot/cold outdoor shower, the pool with strategically placed umbrellas and the expansive views from the living room, outdoor tables and master bedroom. We saw whales breach from the breakfast table, pool and even the outdoor shower! Every shower was equipped with bath gel, shampoo, conditioner and there is even a hall closet with extra books, sunscreens, etc. As it was our first time to the Big Island, Paul was very patient in answering questions about the area, restaurants and places to go. We highly suggest buying fish at Da Fish House to grill on the patio or the tacos from Kohala Burger and Taco. Many thank yous for a lovely stay!
We were so very fortunate to stay in this amazing property for 2 weeks. The pictures provided do give you an idea about this location that one does not want to leave. The view is breathtaking, many many whale sights , all 3 volcano peaks ..serene quite and the millions of stars above you at night. The salt water pool is totally refreshing and perfect end to the day..the most amazing feature an outdoor shower that is in a class by itself. You will miss this even when you are still visiting other parts of the Island.
The owners were a privilege to deal with and every thing you need is provided for.We have been on the Island many times this was the best place we ever stayed. Some family members joined us and it was fantastic to share this place with them.
It is a real treasure in Kohala...mahalo nui loa

My husband and I stayed here for a week, and we were delighted with our choice! The open views are amazing, yet the property is landscaped in such a way that it still feels very private. The house is very well stocked with whatever you may need, and grocery stores at Mauna Lani and Waikoloa Village are a short drive for anything else. Hapuna beach is great and only a 5 minute drive away. We found the location to be a perfect base for exploring the island, as access to a variety of routes are not far, and you can avoid the traffic of Kona. Mahalos to Paul and Tami for their assistance whenever it was needed. We will be back.
My family of 5 adults and a 15 month old all had an amazing time staying at this property. The view is astounding. We spent our meals watching whales breach, play, fin and tail slap and were awed to see both a mother and baby and a birth. The house is gorgeous, and the kitchen very well stocked. The supplies for beach going were also perfect. I know people talk about the outside shower, but you can't really appreciate it until you're on the property. No one (not even the baby) showered inside--why would you when you can watch the sunrise, sunset or whales playing when showering. The house is located in a peaceful part of Kohala, yet close to the most gorgeous beaches and resorts in the world. The local fruit and vegetable stand, the shave ice truck and the fresh fish market were all 5 minutes away, as well as a macadamia nut farm and a quirky, fun botanical garden. Paul was easy to contact, quick to respond and very helpful. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a fantastic stay on the Big Island. We want to go back ASAP.
The Kohala Coast is renowned for its clear ocean waters and has been referred to as the 'Gold Coast' due to the abundance of tropical fish. Any activity on, or in the water is recommended.
