About the Neighborhood:
Glen Park is a secluded-feeling gem easily accessed by San Francisco’s BART. The neighborhood’s picturesque streetscapes and village vibe lend its coffee shops, organic markets, and independent boutiques an undeniable charm. This gentle neighborhood offers more than simple small-town treasures—Glen Park also boasts seventy green acres and miles of hidden nature trails that weave through its lushly forested hillsides.
GLEN PARK is really like a charming little village in the city. There are a variety of really good restaurants, from our authentic French bistro, Le P'tit Laurent, American fare at Chenery Park, Gialina Pizzeria, La Corneta Taqueria, Eco Sushi, and Osha Thai restaurant.
For breakfast, try Destination Bakery for fresh brioche, Tyger's Coffee Shop, or my favorite, HIgher Grounds, where they serve amazing crepes. The village has a great independent bookstore, the Bird & Beckett, and there’s live jazz on Friday and Sunday nights.
There’s a terrific gourmet supermarket, Canyon Market (see photos). Finally, the Village has its very own Farmer's Market on Sundays, selling local produce from farms all over the Bay Area. Yummmm!
GLEN CANYON PARK: Just one block from the flat is Glen Canyon Park. Unlike any other park in the City, it is situated in a rustic canyon, with 70 acres of bucolic, walking trails along Islais Creek, or more challenging hikes up to the top of the Canyon. Folks come from all over the City for the birding, nature walks, and even rock-climbing. There is also a recreation center with indoor basketball courts and free, outdoor tennis courts, where you can play, free, under the lights until 10:00PM.
My relatives came into twin for my college graduation in Dec. 2014. I live in Glen Park and suddenly found my small house quickly became much smaller, I needed more space. I turned to VRBO and was thrilled to find Burnside. The unit was lovely and comfortable for my mother and brother, they found it charming, and I found peace of mind. The rates and rental terms were right on point. I will most certainly use this property in the future. My only concern is the side entry gate. The few days we rented the unit it was raining very heavily, and the entry is not a paved walkway, so it made walking path to the entry muddy and a bit uneven under the foot. All in all, I highly recommend this rental!
