Paphos and the surrounding area.: Paphos has established itself as the premier resort on the south coast of Cyprus. Thus the local area can provide a full range of holiday experiences from the sedentary to activity packed. Restaurants are varied and reasonably priced. There are plenty of opportunities for shopping both in the tourist area and the old town and market. It is possible to walk to either. The sea front and the lovely harbour are all in walking distance as well. Historical sites abound both in and around Paphos including the Tomb of the Kings World Heritage Site and Paphos Mosiacs.
How to get there: Paphos airport is the recommended option. Paphos airport is small and friendly. Transfer through passport control and customs is usually quick and hassle free. There are always taxis available at the airport or we can arrange airport pick up.
Most charter airlines run at least one flight to Cyprus on Wednesdays from May to October. Wednesday is definitely UK arrival day at Paphos and Larnaca. Sunday is the other popular day but you can get both charter and scheduled flights most days from most regions.
Car Hire : If you do not wish to hire a car it is not 100% necessary as there is a good bus service and local coach excursions. However if you do you will be able to explore the area further. A visit to Coral Bay is a must and a drive through the banana plantations along the coast from Coral Bay to the Sea Caves is lovely. As you drive along you often catch site of lizards and snakes. Further a field is the Akamas Peninsular National Park and the Trudos Mountains. The whole of the south is very beautiful and the perfume of the orange blossom has to be experienced to be believed.
Please if you do decide to hire a car do not forget to take your driving licence
We did enjoy your house, all the comforts from home! We did bus excursions, rented a bike for a few days, and had a good mix of relaxing and being out and about.
The ceiling fans are a blessing and really good especially at night. Mostly used the a/c to boost before bed time
Lovely property and pool, our family of 4 had a fantastic time in this well presented spacious property in a quiet residential area of Paphos. The house and pool were both very clean and very well maintained and there were some lovely refreshments awaiting our arrival.
We had some lovely meals down in the harbour area which is only a short distance away and on the 'wave dancer' boat, which we can thoroughly recommend!
Thank you to the very helpful owners who provided us with all the help we needed including assisting in arranging airport transfers - we hope to return to this property and Cyprus 1 day soon!
We had a brilliant time in Paphos a lovely harbor side town with in easy walking distance. With plenty of lovely places to eat and watch the world go by.
Can not fault the accommodation it had everything you needed and was very clean & tidy. Although we don`t usually watch much TV on holiday it was handy with the smart TV & WIFI and kept the kids occupied.
We used the pool area on few occasions and was very peaceful and relaxing.
The municipal beach was about a 20 minute walk away and we mainly used this throughout the holiday.
It has a little beach bar & the water was lovely and flat.
We wouldn't hesitate to return here again in the future.
All in all we had a lovely holiday and the accommodation is a credit to the owners.
What a truly fantastic place for a family to stay. Accommodation was perfect for our family of 4 and girls loved the pool and making new friends with the other children staying in neighbouring villas. If children are happy, you know you'll have a fab time. Pool area was never full and always plenty of sunbeds. Generally only about 3-4 families there at one time. It was so relaxing spending time around the pool either relaxing on the sunbed or lilo in the pool which was easy way to roll off, cool down and get back on and relax some more ..... defo needed in August! In fact we spent 8 of our 11 days relaxing in the villa and around the pool.
It was about a 10 minute walk to local shops which had everything you need. The welcome pack was great to keep you going until you suss out your surroundings.
We walked down to the harbour every night, which took about 20-25 minutes but was a pleasant stroll and meant you walked off your meal on way back.
Our favourite place to eat was Mothers Restaurant, which is close to the bus station towards the end of the harbour (we ate there 5 times). The owner is so welcoming, and was very accommodating to me, as I have a dairy intolerance. The complimentary shot at the end of the meal was an added bonus!!
Seagulls is also a lovely place to eat.
A great day out is the waterpark, but do remember to take some water shoes as the floor is soooooooooooooooo hot! If you go twice you get the 2nd day just over half price, but have to buy before you leave on the 1st day. Wearing bands and being cash free takes away the worry of leaving valuables on your sunbed.
We all loved our time in Paphos and can't wait to come back, was defo our family favourite so far.
our party was 4 adults and found that there was loads of room the house was exactly as discribed ,all information correct and found both the owners and gerry very helpful if you want to see a lot of pathos get the bus get a 2 euro day pass and you can go any where.walking down to the habour you pass the first and last pub fantastic meals and if you are a footie fan have all games on .we are looking to return at the end of september.the free welcome pack was amasing everything fto start your holiday off to a great start.once again thanks jill and bill for the use of your lovely house. carol monnelly maidstone kent.
We had a great family holiday at this property,The house is well presented and equipped to a high standard. The pool area was very clean and we spend some days happily sitting around the pool area with other guests/owners.Enjoyed the nightlife of Paphos with its many bars and restaurants to choose from. The property is ideally located for seeing the sights of Cyprus car hire reccommended. The owner was very helpful when booking this holiday and provided very good customer service.
We really had a wonderful time when we visited Paphos in January this year, the weather was lovely, and we woke up every morning to sun flooding through the lovely blue shutters into the wonderfully comfortable bedroom.
We took our two children and they had a fantastic time, there was space for them to play both inside and out and even though the pool is not heated they both still managed a quick dip!
The gardens and pool area are beautifully landscaped, and the terrace is a lovely place to sit and enjoy the sun whilst having breakfast.
The house is very well presented and equipped with a fully functioning kitchen which meant that we were able to eat in several times using the great local produce to make very good meals.
The supermarket in Paphos can provide everything you need and stocks wonderful local fruit and veg that made eating in a real pleasure.
This property felt like home very quickly, and its location helps you to feel a part of the local community.
Paphos itself is a lively town with a picturesque harbour, very good restaraunts, and great walks.
We would recommend hiring a car, although you are able to walk into Paphos from the house.
Cyprus is a great Island to expore by car and we had great fun exploring local villages, castles and beaches!
We would highly recommend this property and location and are looking forward to returning shortly!
The property is situated in the Universal area of Kato Paphos. It is a quite residential area that is close to all tourist areas but far enough away for noise not to be a nuisance. Supermarkets, restaurants, bars, tavernas and a great local bakery are all within walking distance. As is the Harbour, sea front and beach. Check out the pavement cafes around the old fishing harbour and watch the world go by. Enjoy lunch or dinner at a restaurant or bistro overlooking the blue Mediterranean sea. Walk along the promenade or enjoy the local beaches and watersports. A hire car will give guests easy access to surrounding areas and attractions such as Aprhodites Birthplace, The Troodos Mountains, the Akamas Peninsular, Polis and Latchi plus much much more. For those interested in history there are many archaelogical sites such as the old fort and the mosiacs a similar distance away.
Taxis are abundant. every where and there are also very good local bus services.
