Visegrad is a picturesque small town, located 40 km from Budapest. Thanks to its fortress and the ruins of the royal palace, it functions like a real tourist magnet. Visegrád lives even today from the glory of its past. In the 14th century, it was the capital of the country, and had at that time, the biggest building in Hungary, the Royal Palace. The fortress (Fellegvár) from the 13th century offers a majestic impression. From the tower on the Nagyvillám Mountain, you have a beautiful view upon the entire landscape. Not far away from the tower, there is a summer toboggan run. The thermal pool has a well-kept park and a 33 m sport basin, a children basin and a terrace-like hot spring basin. The hot spring basin is continuously filled by the natural springs. The thermal water has 39°. Not far from Visegrad you will find Szentendre and Esztegom.
