Andrew and Jimmie divide their time between Duluth, GA, Augusta, and their hideaway in Dahlonega. They are blessed with 2 beautiful daughters and their families, including 3 grandchildren. Originally purchased as a family getaway, Frog Call has been evolving for over 15 years, with the dream of sharing this peaceful, nurturing place come true, like pieces of a puzzle fitting together.

Jimmie Walters purchased this cabin in 1997

The search for a mountain getaway spanned 2 years. Starting off on a personal tour with the Chapman family owners, by the time they forded West Cane Creek in the old jeep, Jimmie had tears in her eyes, and the search was over. The 50 plus acres of lush forest, meadows, streams, the trails, the end of road privacy and bordered by national forest, all creating peaceful seclusion from the outside world. And located just over one hour from Atlanta, and 6 miles from the Square.

The Cherokee Indians chose the Dahlonega area to live for good reason. Starting with that wonderful slice of land, and an old caretakers' cottage given new life, the cozy living quarters have cautiously been expanded, allowing nature in, with a minimum of disturbance to the beautiful, natural surroundings, adding the breathtaking treehouse with queen size bed and 30 ft. handicap bridge, and bunkhouse with hand crafted bunk beds. Organic gardens thrive in the meadow, by the pond.

In every instance the right people have shown up, bringing their gifts to take it to the next level of development. Whether it was funds needed, ideas for sharing, treehouse visions, an amazingly talented architect and team, an organic farming family, a nature loving landscape company, an out of work builder, flower garden gifts, or a husband who knew how to build ponds, what has been created is a totally unique, soul reviving escape. Add to that local individuals who can create a personalized experience for you with their talents and knowledge of the area.

ENCHANTING FROG CALL

  • 5 of 5
I am an art instructor who takes artists all over the world for Plein air painting adventures. Deciding to conduct an art retreat in beautiful Dahlonega Georgia I found Frog Call. This magical place was everything and so much more than we expected. Jimmie the owner was amazing, the main house enchanting, the bunk house and tree house beautiful and the grounds takes your breath away. We would rate this wonderful place a 10+ !

PERFECT FOR A STAFF RETREAT

  • 5 of 5
Our group was fortunate to spend three days at Frog Call in early June. The property was beautiful, with the open meadow, pond, huge shade trees, and soft ferns. The accommodations were perfect as several in our group stayed in the main house, and a couple shared the darling little bunk house. One lucky lady had the amazing Tree House all to her self, while others pitched their tents in the meadow.

We could not have asked for better accommodations, and look forward to returning both as a group, and as individuals.

We came to Dahlonega for a wedding, and we stayed for Frog Call. There are no words to describe the spirit of this place. Calm and peace reign, and there are truly no worries! The facilities are all fabulous, unique, and welcoming. The only thing I didn't like about Frog Call was leaving. I can't wait for my next trip to North Georgia.

MAJESTIC MOUNTAIN RETREAT

  • 5 of 5
Frog Call is a hidden treasure nestled within the foothills of the Appalachians. The main cabin is so welcoming that I just wanted to take my shoes off and relax within its comforting space. You can just feel the love and care that has been put into this special place. From the huge screen porch you can see a lovely pond with a waterfall. The pond comes complete with a rock dock space for making fires as well as a canoe to drift along and enjoy the sunshine. There are also many special points of interest to discover such as the bunkhouse and the "you have to see it to believe it" treehouse. Frog Call is conveniently located to the quaint town of Dahlonega but, be warned, once you make it to the property you may not want to leave. I would recommend this beautiful retreat for anyone with a love for nature.

THE BEST VACATION HOME IN GEORGIA!

  • 5 of 5
I have stayed in several VRBO homes and I have always been pleased. However, I was incredibly surprised by the level of personal care and personal touches in this home. There is room to explore, hike, fish, and that is just on this beautiful property! The home is also close to town, but you would never know once you are on the property. Jimmie was the most gracious host and lead me in the right direction for food, fun and meaningful time with my kids. I can't say enough about the home, the bunkhouse and the treehouse. Everything was well maintained and clean and Jimmie stocked EVERYTHING! I truly felt like I was spending a week at my own vacation home...comfortable,relaxing and good for the heart!

PEACEFUL RETREAT

  • 5 of 5
This cabin and surrounding acreage is a very relaxing and peaceful place to stay in the north Georgia mountains. It gives you privacy, but is not too far from Dahlonega for food and entertainment. This property is unique in that a family or larger group could use it with the additional space of the super cool treehouse and bunkhouse- or the main cabin is great for a smaller group. It is close to the AT and Amicalola state park also. The owner has done a great job with this house, adding many unique features and connecting the indoor space to outdoor areas as much as possible.
