About Ed Beveridge

We are Ed & Jo Beveridge, the proud new owners of the Spoon Lake Lodge since the middle of summer 2013. We fell in love with the serenity & beauty of Spoon Lake & the custom log-accented home built by former owners & custom home builder Tom & Marlene the minute we saw it.

It's our little slice of heaven in the Flathead forest just outside Glacier National Park and we would like you to enjoy it too. So many of the summer guests that were already booked when we bought the lodge expressed a desire to return and this convinced us that we could share our lovely spot on Spoon Lake for years to come.

I'm Ed & I was born in Montana. I have spent most of my life living in or visiting Montana from wherever life has taken me. You never can get Montana out of your blood. I have been enjoying Glacier National Park like my parents most of my life & lived for many years on Flathead Lake. We also enjoyed Whitefish Lake for over 10 years when our kids were younger.

My wife, Jo, is a converted Minnesota girl who loves her loons & the mountain lakes in Montana. We have been bringing our three sons here since they were little. The youngest will be off to college in the fall, and by June both of the oldest boys will be married. We're still converting South Dakota & California women to the Montana dream.......so far they are sold!

Ed Beveridge purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Ed Beveridge chose Coram

This property is 8 miles north of Columbia Falls, a little town between Whitefish & West Glacier. Historic & remote Polebridge is 27 miles further up the road. The pavement ends about 3 miles past Spoon Lake after the back road short cut, Blankenship Road turn off to West Glacier. Everyone who has stayed at the Spoon Lake lodge seems to spend most of their time hiking, fishing, exploring Glacier Park & all the wonderful surrounding communities & lakes. We offer you a very comfortable place with a spectacular serene view with all the comforts of home at the end of your day. Or just relax & take a spin in the rowboat or kayaks right outside your door.

What makes this cabin unique

The lower apartment is fully contained & locked off from the owner's space on the top two floors. It has a covered patio w/ a bbq and outdoor table & chairs. Walk right out to the grassy lakefront & the outdoor fire ring w/ plenty of chopped wood available for your use. You will have a full kitchen, inside full-sized laundry room, & spacious full bath for showers only. The living room has a large picture window & rock fireplace with gas logs. The bedroom also enjoys a large picture window view to the lake. It has both a queen bed & twin bed. In the living room one of the sofa's has a pull out twin-sized bed. All the towels & linens are provided for your arrival. You have the use of the row boat & 2 kayaks. It is a mostly non-motorized 60 acre lake so it's very quiet. If you are visiting while my wife Jo, or my daughter Britta is upstairs you will no doubt be treated to any number of their fabulous edible creations.............if you're lucky it will be with huckleberries. Feel free to forage for huckleberries. The summer of 2014 according to long time locals is a bumper crop beyond their wildest dreams........FANTASTIC stuff if you can find them!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Beautiful view!

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I spent 8 nights at this beautiful cabin. We were the only ones at this property; it was so peaceful and quiet. We definitely enjoyed the fireplace and very much appreciated the laundry. It was hard to take our eyes off the view! This was one of the cleanest properties I've ever stayed at. Thanks for the great vacation.

Spoon Lake

  • 5 of 5
We rented one level of a three level home. No one else was on the property. The setting on Spoon Lake is quiet and beautiful. The cabin is only 25 minutes from the West Glacier entrance to Glacier National Park. The cabin's kitchen had all the dinnerware we needed. The owner Ed offered many helpful suggestions for hikes in the park and dinner outside the park. We would have liked to stay a month instead of a week on Spoon Lake.

It has it all!

I can't say enough good things about this place. Here's a start:
1. Location, both on a beautiful quiet lake and within easy driving distance of Glacier.
2. The photos are accurate, the basement rental is exactly as pictured.
3. We were very comfortable as there is plenty of space with bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom.
4. Loved eating breakfast in the morning looking at the lake and dinner at night looking at the lake.
5. Kayaks!
6. Ed was very easy to communicate with. He was extremely helpful and gave us great backroads directions to Glacier.
7. We were incredible grateful to rent such a wonderful relaxing retreat.

Slice of Heaven.

  • 5 of 5
This place is incredible. A stone's throw away from Glacier Park but the property is so lovely and perfectly equipped, I wished I had more time to enjoy it. Beautiful clean kitchen, bathroom and seating area by a propane fireplace in front of giant windows that look out right onto Spoon Lake. I hope to return! I feel so refreshed and recharged!

Piece of heaven!

  • 5 of 5
When I ask my young boys what their favorite part of our vacation was they both answer, "Spoon Lake!". With a one-year-old busy toddler in tow plus two other adventure-loving young boys we knew we needed to find a place where we could relax from the touring and just play together as a family. We were so grateful to find this basement cabin rental on Spoon Lake! It couldn't have been more perfect for our needs. The owners were amazing to work with via email in the beginning as well as during our time there. They were gracious, helpful and wonderful added company.

The views from the cabin are breathtaking and the lake itself is absolutely stunning. We loved listening to the Loons early in the morning and at sunset, watching Osprey scoop fish out of the lake, peering into the deep natural springs from the kayaks, gazing in awe at the crystal clear water, watching Rufus hummingbirds drink from the porch feeder, following the baby ducks, seeing the Great Blue Herons through the morning mist, roasting marshmallows while watching the bats zip above our heads and enjoying the thrill of little boys fishing for Pumpkin Seed Sunfish and Perch from the row boat.

The cabin was located within minutes to access groceries in Columbia Falls as well as the majesty of Glacier National Park. Unfortunately, a snow storm had hit the park just days before we arrived closing down the Going-to-the-Sun road at Logan's Pass and causing us to miss out on a good portion of the park. Next time, we will plan to go later in the summer, mid-July to August.

Our entire experience was wonderful still. The rental portion of the cabin is beautiful, updated, tastefully decorated and had all we needed plus more. It was so nice to be able to walk right out the door to the lake. We will definitely add this rental property to our list of favorites to visit again in the future.

Owner's Response: I think our son and his wife had just as much fun hosting your family. If your rhubarb muffins were as good as the ones they made for us, we will also have to come back for more. We hope to see you again soon.
